Some of us aren't anonymous. It was intentional to be taken seriously. The value has dwindled as the years have gone by, but I see no reason to become ZelaznyFan1100 (if available) just to be a dick.spaceling wrote...
I'm on XBL, and yes I've noticed this too. If I enter a lobby with some mouthy people, I just leave. Give a person a mic and an anonymous identity, and anything can happen.
My biggest XBL sin is telling people that they should do this or that, in a tone that implies they should actually listen. People often chafe at being told what to do by some N7 300 random, and I'm not always right anyway. I told a Krogan Vanguard delivering pizza that he shouldn't go out where the Geth were, and he either never heard me or ignored me and beat his way past them. I was apologetic to him after that performance but I thought a less-direct route was safer and was VERY vigorous about saying so. No insults, but they still might have been taken that way. Not sure how to avoid it except by pulling the plug on the mic.
Also, I learned that some folks can respond but choose not to. One teammmate mentioned kill-stealing today, then the person who was labeled the thief, who hadn't said a thing up until then, said he'd mend his ways. Suddenly it was all a joke, ha ha, and nobody seemed upset afterwards. Seemed, anyway. Not sure anybody friended anyone else in that one...

Usually I find most players with mics to be, if not friendly, then at least cooperative. Rarely, however, are they interesting - and for this reason I keeep 99% of players muted. However, late Saturday night I listened (heady with schadenfredue) while a guy on a mic was breaking up with his girlfriend, purportedly for spending too much time playing Xbox. That was pretty interesting.
Well if he couldn't put down the controller for a break-up conversation, then she may have had a point.
She would have had a point, but HE was breaking up with HER. That is, it''s around 3 AM ET, he's playing ME3, she's (I presume) asking him to get off the Xbox, and he proceeds to high gear it to a break up convo (or nasty argument, really).
It was truly horrifying. Interesting, though,

So is PSN. They don't have mics most of the time, though. I can say the same for the PC audience as well.SkreeMalicious wrote...
XBL is full of immature children?

I've seen tons of yelling and whining children on PC. And the 'rigid controls' is an opinion. I'm great with console controls.FlowCytometry wrote...
I kinda feel bad for ya console guys. Not only do you have to put up w/ those damn rigid controls and auto-aim, but the community seems much worse than the PCs. I rarely encounter obnoxious or loud (or even somewhat talkative) players on PC.

That's only in ME3, though the sheer amount of intolerant idiots is the main reason why I don't play CoD and others online. I used to have the Mexican flag on the name bar on CoD and had to take it out because of all the ignorant intolerant crap I got thrown at me. Then I decided, you know, I suck at this game, anyway, I don´t have to put up with this bull****, gave the games to my nephew who has tons of fun faking a british-like accent pretty well, never had a problem.
Also, love to play with Brits, not loud, and when they're talkative they're tons of fun. I once had a match in Silver/Reactor with a guy that sounded like a darned Monty Python sketch, funniest man I've ever heard.

Yep, it's rough in the slums, but we do what we can to make it nice for everyone..

Auto-aim? What is this auto-aim of which you write? I would welcome this new technology with open arms. I spend too many hours manipulating sticks on my accursed rigid controller to do my aiming and could use a break.FlowCytometry wrote...

Does it know that seeking the heads of bosses is no longer a priority over body shots?...
