Penalty: Extraction time increased from 2 minutes to 5 minutes. More enemies will spawn during the extraction wave
I love this suggestion! Can I give you a high five?
That's a dumb suggestion. It would just make more people purposefully fail the extraction wave to get their credits faster.

So maybe what could happen is we get more enemies. On all difficulties.
Or better still we get five brand new enemies are introduced to every faction.
Reapers:
Scions
Collector Assassins
Husk Abominations
Collector Drones
Praetorians
Geth:
Geth Hoppers
Geth Assassins
Geth Sappers
Geth Apertures
Geth Colossus
Cerberus:
YMIR Mech
LOKI Mech
Fenris Mech
Cerberus Phenoix Vanguard
Cerberus Phenoix Adept
In addition, Harbinger randomly "assumes control" of units from all three factions.
High hopes there dude.

No further information. It's only a minor punishment, since that is about what we get now.

Remember that operation when we had to kill loads of Banshees?
The consequences of failure meant we had to fight loads of banshess in the following challenge. (Shieldwall I think)
So on Operation Broadside we failed. Don't start crying, it happens.
What do you think would make interesting consequences.
The harder it makes it for us, the better.
There should NEVER be a consequence for the failure of an operation. Bioware/EA should not punish customers!

The two operations I didn't have a chance to participate in, we fail. I'm clearly the deciding factor.
Ikr? Where were you? We needed you!

It's not like they'd make it so we couldn't play matches for two weeks or something. Do you also advocate the inability to die on SP maps? How dare they punish us by making us start over from a savegame!

do you really believe that there is a "failure"?
i don't, it's just all a set off sequences. made to make you play more, in order to achieve such goal.
sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. but for me, i believe it is all predetermined.
it is, lore wise, a nice adition to this multiplayor experience, but to really believe all feedback gets uploaded and they count and are honest to say you won or lost? nah, i don't buy it.
get along with the "story", you don't get "punished", you just experience the mp with story arcs, to keep it interesting.

Yeah! Why can't they list the requirements simply at the very beginning? Clearly spelling out anything that is prone to misunderstanding. After so many of these events, I had hoped the level of professionalism would increase.

Was there miscommunication? Yes. Is there miscommunication in a war. Yep. Let's just look at it like this and move on. This will make the next challenge much more fun if you ask me.

(I kid, I kid.)
I still think it was designed from the start so we would fail it.

Personally I am really excited that we failed this mission. Seriously guys, we can't and shouldn't win them all.

This, yup. If war was simple it'd all be over with in a day, with no problems of any sort because all of your operations would go off without a hitch. This doesn't happen, because war is, to quote many people, famous and not-so-famous, hell. There are going to be outstanding victories. There are also going to be setbacks. Some of them crushing.
It just makes me want to try even harder, next time
