I'm only looking for voiced mods that are equal or better quality to Bioware's. Anything new since then?

I have Faren, and Arath installed too but I haven't played them as yet so I can not say if they are "good" yet.
I always rather liked Solaufein. And Kelsey is just brilliant.
Don't touch Saerileth, or Tsujatha, or any of the NPC mods by the same folk. Seriously. They bad.

I'd avoid Kido unless you want to play really evil. He's a Jester who will eventually comprise part of the 'mod for the wicked', which currently counts as vaporware. I tried him because I wanted to run a bard-only group, PC blade along with Haer'dalis (blade), Kido (Jester), Keto(bard), Jan (bard), & Korgan (skald).
If you do play either him or Keto, you should install one of the mods that fixes bard song. The fixpack has the least aggressive fixes, while rogue rebalancing or song & silence make more sweeping changes. S&S hasn't been updated for over two years, perhaps it's already perfect, but RR is in active development so I'd recommend that, or both together (first SS then RR).

She is the main characters sister! lol.
EDIT:
That is as bad as the people who asked "Can we romance Bethany?" when DA2 came out.

Surprised nobody has put forward the Nalia (De'Arnise not G3) romance yet... I’m looking to try it next so are there any issues with it we should be aware of?

Imoen is your sister. You share the same biological father.
Even if siblings aint been raised together it's still incest lol. The incestuous part comes from the genetics.

I disagree. I don't like Nathaniel and Sarah, but do like Saerileth.
That's the problem with asking for advice. Asking two people for an opinion and you'll get different answers depending on those people's preferences, values and suchlike.
I would therefore recommend that you install more rather than less. You can then give them all a try and see whether or not you like them.

Have tried it and from what I saw of it before being killed, liked it.
Obviously having two Nalia mods in the same installation is asking for trouble, so I would advise against that.

Angelo is an excellent mod. Well written and an interesting character...
It's very subjective of course, but imo the best NPC mod out there is The Longer Road, which gives you a chance to recruit Jon Irenicus and redeem him. ,If you do decide to play that mod, avoid doing level 3 of Watcher's Keep till you've recruited Irenicus, otherwise you'll miss out on a large part of the mod's storyline. Note that Irenus is horribly overpowered (Edwin is a bad joke compared to him) , but if that doesn't bother you i recommend playing the mod. For even more fun, recruit both Irenicus and Edwin. Then let the Chain Contingencies fly and clear every map in about ten seconds.

You may think that, but others may not consider Imoen's case in the same way. Having a god as a father does funny things - to the genes as well as the personality. Consider that Imoen is fully human whereas [Charname] can be any race. Personally I find it a bit difficult to see how a liaison between a dwarf and a human could be classed as incest, although I can see why you might argue differently.FitScotGaymer wrote...

If you have a problem with youngsters having sex, then you shouldn't install ANY romance mods as CHARNAME is refered to time and time again as child.
I have never completed the game with Saerileth, so don't know from experience whether there is any sex, but the romance is quite nice, very similar to my own experience.

It's very subjective. One of my best friends actually adores Anomen and romances him EVERY time she plays the game. To me, that's sick:P But hey, if it makes her happy:)

There's probably very little point in arguing about this, people seem to have a block where Imoen is concerned. Well here goes anyway ...
Firstly, do you understand genetics at all? You and Imoen share the same father, who is a god. I have absolutely no idea how gods are supposed to propogate, but in BG2 it's completely clear that it is neither biological nor dependent on genes. If genes were somehow involved, then all of Bhaal's progeny would be at least half-human, assuming Bhaal himself was human (which is not very clear). If the mother was human, you would get a human child, if the mother was elven, you would get a half-elven child, if the mother was an orc, you would get a half-orc. Elves, dwarves, gnomes, or halflings would NEVER occur. Dragons such as Abazigal, Giants such as Yaga-Sura, Drow such as Sendai would NEVER occur. The only mechanism I can see for this to work is for the genes to come entirely from the mother, and Bhaal to impart some of his divine essence to the genes.
Second, the mod itself is well written, and the easiest relationship path is completely platonic as friends. If you are determined to pursue the romance, you can, but it is not something you can do by accident.
To be clear, inbreeding is a terrible thing, to be avoided because of the potential for horrific genetic problems. In terms of basic statistics, there is only a 1 in 4 chance that a child of two siblings would have two copies of the same DNA strand, but such a child would almost certainly never reach term. However, DNA is more dynamic than this simple statistical model assumes, chunks out of one strand can swap over to the other strand, so even if the child had 99.9% unique DNA over two strands, the amount of recessive genes which would be in use would result in extreme problems. Don't try this at home kids.

She is your sister period. Even if you didn't actually share the same father - which you do - you were raised together and at repeated points during the game you can make clear that Imoen is like a sister to you.
And if that's how Charname feels about her; then a romance with her is just squicky.
Sorry. It just is.
No matter how "good" it is from a writing standpoint; squick is still squick.
Could be worse tho. It could be like the Saerileth or Tsujatha mods. *shudder* Horrible, horrible writing in those mods. Being an amateur author, I find it offends my eyes at how badly they are written.
Though I don't think I would hate them as much if the mod authors were actually open to constructive criticism; but they aren't sadly.
The fact that Saerileth is 15 doesn't bother me too much um because it's possible for her to be "of age" by the time you do anything with her; and the age difference between her and charname isn't huge.
It's just the bad writing for me. Lol.

But asked about what mods are the best, from my experience it would be Amber as well as Xan for BG2 (taken from PocketPlane). Both are not romanceable but have well-written friendship paths, though the Amber friendship has more depth to it than Xan. And Xan's voice takes getting used too, the voicing is a bit too poche and resolute to sound as depressed as the original.

The correct term would be ephebophilia.Flamedance wrote...
Unless you're into really kinky stuff like paedophilia
Paedophilia is a sexual interest in prepubescent children.
Remember that this is supposed to be a (partially) medieval world. Travelling is dangerous to normal folk and villages tend to be quite small. Having been raised together can't be anything out of the ordinary for married couples.FitScotGaymer wrote...

And see, this is where roleplaying comes in. You can make it clear that you are evil, or that you are one of the good guys, or that you are in love with Viconia or that you only care for Jaheira or any number of mutually exclusive things.and at repeated points
during the game you can make clear that Imoen is like a sister to you.
You are using human measures. Elves become physically mature at the age of 25 and emotionally at around 125 (source: wikipedia).Flamedance wrote...

Well for me it's just a taste thing for the Imoen romance thing. Even if you "dont know" at the start and sharing a "godly" father means you don't share DNA...It is still in my eye's, incest.
Just my POV.
The Age thing really puts the Jaheira and Viconia romances into perspective as well doesn't it?
I mean if you are playing as an Elf CHARNAME - he/she is 20. Considered by the Elves as a prepubescent teenager?
Yikes.

The best advice is pay a visit to
the modding communities and read up on the NPC mods that they host. Then
you will get an idea on what mod suites you. Asking individuals for
advice is going to give you mixed messages and then you won't know who
to believe. I can say mod X sucks until I'm blue in the face and someone
else will say its the best mod since sliced bread. So who will you
believe?
Well of course.
Asking for advice doesn't mean to take that advice no matter what, or you accept it blindly.
The point of advice is to give you a "good" barometer of which ones might suit you and which might not. You might choose to ignore that advice, and as you say discover you like the mod that the person advised you to avoid.
Just because I despise the Saerileth and Tsujatha mods doesn't mean that In expect everyone else to. But if someone asks me "which NPC mods do you like, and not like?" I am going to be honest and say - "I like Nathaniel and Solaufein; and don't like Saerileth and Tsujatha."
Not gonna lie about it.
