Electric Slash's problem is that it's a power attack, so it get boosts from the N7 Passive.

In fact, comparing the Shadow to the Slayer, the Slayer's Biotic Slash is actually a better than the Electric Slash, but that's because every attack the Slayer has is a power attack, so all his abilities benefit from the N7 passive.

The only thing Electric Slash has going is that it's much better at stripping shields and can be used to self-detonate tech bursts with Shadow Strike's DoT.

You could improve Electric Slash, but then you'd have to sacrifice Shadow Strike's Damage to do so.

Could someone spell this out for me?

Basic strategy is: Cloak --> Shadow Strike then Cloak ---> Slash?

I'd appreciate if someone could just straight out tell me XD

It is the only class I take to Platinum.
It is the only class I take duration on.
It is the only class I take bonus power on.
It is the only class I take an Avenger on and don't get kicked.

Lovin' it.

Take two powers on TC 6th evolution, you can use the second shadow strike to retreat to a more quiet place, still cloaked, if you get a right build and proper gear and weapon mods you are going to 1S1K marauders, centurions, engineers, nemesis and all unshielded enemies. If the shielded enemy keeps two or three health bars don't bother, he will die anyways, the power leaves an electric damage.

Or you can use the second shadow strike against your first target, usually phantoms need two hits. And then retreat on foot.

Slash, use it behind walls and with cover, like Ex-cerberus smash, or you will be killed. It's a crowd control power, low damage but it stuns.

Finally got this last night, and also running 6/6/6/0/6.

Only thing is I'm not sure rank 6 sword mastery - armour damage or shield/barrier damage? I took armour damage because I reasoned electric slash is enough to deal with all barriers and shields, and I want to be more useful against brutes/ravagers/primes/atlases/pyros/banshees. Is this a good idea?

Also rank 6 shadow strike - more damage or shield drain?

Rank 6 Sword Mastery:
I'd recommend Armour Damage. As you said, Electric Slash deals with Shields/Barriers quite well & you'll want to be putting down Ravagers, Brutes & executing bosses much, much faster.

Rank 6 Shadow Strike:
I'd recommend Shield Drain. You only have 600 Shields so an (almost) guaranteed 100% restore against shielded/barriered targets? Extremely helpful at staying in the fight for a LOT longer. Shadow Strike already gets a Hell load of damage from Sword Mastery, so it's not a huge loss.

I love the Shadow! Will try out OPs tips next time I promote. Though I don't do as well yet as with the SI or KV, she's become my new favourite character. It's the Jedi Knight series MP feeling again! ^_^

I slapped a Reegar IX and Shield boost V gear on her and she obliterates anything but boss enemies.

Easily the best melee class in the game, she was designed with guerilla tactics in mind, hit, run, wait for any nessecary shield recharge, rinse, repeat.

Thanks, I actually just ended up experimenting on my own. It's a really fun class to play. I did specc it a little different than how the OP suggests. I don't think shield drain beats 50% more damage and I don't think you want to put points into N7 Shadow at all.

I found this to be one of the few classes on which it's worth putting the movement speed bonus consumable. It's very satisfying to close in, shadow strike, follow up with electric slash, then sprint away cackling like a drugged-up kookaburra..

So I'm thinking 6/5/5/4/6, tactical cloak with one power usage allowed, electric slash with tech burst detonation and shadow strike for primer, lots of sword damage in the mastery (except maybe the movement speed thing, that seems juicy) for a hidden tech burster ninja...thoughts? :-D

What're you getting in the Passive?

Seems mostly useless. I imagine Power Damage & Weight Capacity?

Eh. I'd rather have 6th evo on Shadow Strike.

Yeah, power damage and weight capacity, then you go in cloaked for a shadow strike on some tough enemy surrounded by some weaker enemies, jump back, throw out an electric slash and let the tech burst do its job...

Meh. Shadow Strike isn't effected by Power Damage, so it's worth less than I'd like...

Do you have in game proof of this. I am good at crunching the numbers, a 66653 build
TC duration, melee, bonus
SS Damage, eletric, sheild drain
SP P&C, power
SM none

600 base damage, .9 TC, .9 SS, .35 passive, .35 melee
w/ 600(1+.9+.9+.35+.35)=2100
w/o 600(1+.9+.9+.35)=1890

This wouldn't be able to OHK a cannibal (2025) without the power damage passive but I can.

Works?... More like OWNS!

Be sure to max out Electric Slash for damage, and tactical cloak for duration and bonus power though! ;)

I completely agree, you need ES if want face down bosses on your lonesome. SS is overkill most of the time and too risky against banshees when that huge damage would be most useful. If my math is right you could get a max of 4500 damage against sheilds/barriers or armor with all your bonus, mods, equip active, 4200 against health.

So I gave this a run on Gold after speccing to the suggestions of some posters on this thread. The vibe I get is that the Shadow is great for hit-and-run. Able to cloak, strike, and run away without being hunted down.

I'm no miracle worker by any means, but I carried 3 noobs on Gold for about 8 waves until I got Phantom shanked. But I was able to cloak, strike and slay Phantoms. Electric damage will guarantee their death after cloaking. The idea was that they focused on the Atlas, while I would go around the map picking off every other enemy.

Against geth on Gold, Electric Slash is your friend. Hunters, Troopers, and Pyros don't stand a chance even with shield/barrier specs. Make sure you're cloaked because the animation will leave you exposed. But you can nail a few geth through the walls. Again, target the mooks and let your allies fight the Prime(s). Obviously come back and help when you're done.

Reapers... my Shadow is specced for damage against shields/barriers and not armour. It showed when we battled Reapers I couldn't hurt them without dangerously exposing the Shadow. You can kill Marauders easily and Cannibals. But Banshees, Brutes, Ravagers, the top threats of Reapers will devastate you. Spec for armour damage before facing Reapers.

The Piranha with cloak and a shredder mod obliterates armor faster than Shadow Strike or Electric Slash could ever hope for. It's light weight as well (at least at X). I see too many Shadows forget they're holding a gun that can chew through half an Atlas's health in a single clip. It is also is much preferable to Striking Reaper bosses, which are all nightmares when standing next to them. The accuracy mod is not needed since you'll be A.) Up close and B.) Fighting enemies the size of a bus.

Normally I carry a shotgun (Eviscerator X if my target survives the slash) and an SMG (Geth Plasma if I'm shooting at say a dangerous enemy from a distance.). I need to get the Piranha.

And a better shredder mod.

Once you have it, there's no real need for the armor blade in my opinion. Nothing Shadow has comes close to the pure devastation a Piranha X brings on armor. I respecced for shield blade. It was painful letting go of my flaming saber.

This class is absolute blast to play. With the bonus power on evo 6 of TC, there's nothing like -> cloak, Shadow Strike first Phantom, find the other Phantom, Shadow Strike again. Revenge is sweet!

What's the cooldown penalty for a piranha x and all of the weight capacity passives? I tried to calculate it with Narida's class builder, but ranks 4 and 6 don't seem to have any effect.
