So I'm thinking 6/5/5/4/6, tactical cloak with one power usage allowed, electric slash with tech burst detonation and shadow strike for primer, lots of sword damage in the mastery (except maybe the movement speed thing, that seems juicy) for a hidden tech burster ninja...thoughts? :-D
What're you getting in the Passive?
Seems mostly useless. I imagine Power Damage & Weight Capacity?
Eh. I'd rather have 6th evo on Shadow Strike.
Yeah, power damage and weight capacity, then you go in cloaked for a shadow strike on some tough enemy surrounded by some weaker enemies, jump back, throw out an electric slash and let the tech burst do its job...
Meh. Shadow Strike isn't effected by Power Damage, so it's worth less than I'd like...
I don't understand everything about this game but... When I Upgrade the N7 Shadow slots, the damage on Shadow Strike certainly goes up. At my current stats it's at 1590 dmg. (without all the add ons like stunner, and such,) However when I add the first two upgrades on the N7 shadow slot, it goes up to 1650.

That's interesting actually...
The game actually says it's a melee attack...
...bug or WAI?

I was going to give every slot 6 except that slot, but before I did it, I wanted to make sure... Now I am not sure what to do with this character, as I do not know which path would deal more damage, which is what I wanted for my class to do... just pure damage. Cus... Ya know... One hitting phantoms is good fun.

For me it's all about getting 200%.
Seriously. I've taken the Predator X for the simple fact that I'm just NEVER shooting.
Well...apart from when there's a Cannibal on 1 health bar & no one else is around to kill it.
But even then I could just use Electric Slash, melee, Heavy Melee, Shadow Strike.
Weapon Damage? lol.

Shadow Strike breaks cloak, you do NOT stay cloaked.
Yes, you do if you take One Power Cloak.
Shadow Strike WITHOUT One Power Cloak will obviously break it.
But seriously - One Power Cloak & Double Shadow Strike is hilariously awesome.

Pretty much this.
Once the new melee mods start coming in, I'm sure someone will find the best CDR trade-off for max possible melee damage from your weapon.

Hey Bea, any advice on which path would do more damage? Cus if N7 Shadow does have an effect on it's damage, I don't know which way to go at this point. Cloak can get 1-2 heavy strikes in, whereas N7 shadow would get in a bunch, but possibly at a lower damage.
Under the assumption that the Power Damage DOES effect Shadow Strike & it isn't a display error or anything like that?
I'd still say zero in N7 Shadow is the more effective path. I mean, let's look at the other tracks:
Tactical Cloak - You WANT Rank 6 for One Power Evo.
Electric Slash - This is the only possible alternative, getting this to 3 & N7 Shadow to 5 "however" the Tech Explosion potential & ability to kill from ranged when you have to stay put (such as Hack Objective), the huge aoE Stagger? It's difficult to pass up.
Shadow Strike - Inevitable Rank 6, no matter what, like Cloak.
Sword Mastery - Let's face it. You're gonna want ALL THE STABBY!
The Power Damage would come in handy, sure...but sacrifice what?
IMPORTANT NOTE: Assuming a heavier weapon with double melee mods becomes more desirable? Then the Power Evo for increased weight capacity might JUST become very tasty.

In the couple videos I've been able to find it seems like enemies will turn around as you teleport behind you and make an attempt to melee/stagger just as you re-appear and kill them. How often does that really happen and how big is that risk? Is it only if they saw you when you triggered Shadow Strike?
That's the only thing I've been worried about since seeing it in action. Good to hear the bonus power evo didn't get screwed up where you automatically decloak after the teleport (had a minor worry about that with its programming).
A fair concern.
Shadow Strike involves a Cloak mechanic which behaves in the same way as Tactical Cloak. That is to say if you use Shadow Strike while enemies can see you, they'll continue to be able to see you.
To that end, if you Shadow Strike within line of sight to your target, it'll turn round to try & hit you. They're NOT hitting you because you're Shadow Striking but because you're in melee range & they can see you.
Brutes can stagger Shadow Strike - YES.
Not yet been staggered by anything else (Ravagers don't seem to turn fast enough).
I'm reading through the rest of the thread in between some work tasks
I predict using up all 3 of my power reset cards and being pissed I don't get anymore. The Shadow (and all N7 characters) have a lot of possibilities to play with and find that niche you fit into (if even). Fun shall be had.

Shadow Strike while still carrying the object in Retrieval waves. I'm assuming no similar to Biotic Charge?
Not tried it (I prefer to just get that damn objective over & done with).
However I'm with you - I'm assuming NO.
Remember though that if you spec for it, we move faster than most other classes ;3.

I took use one power before breaking cloak, it keeps breaking my cloak
EDIT: NM the issue isn't that it's breaking cloak, it's that 4 seconds isn't long enough to do it twice

Sounds like:
A) You're not at 200% CDR;
C) You didn't take Duration increase on Cloak.
All I can think of, as Shadow Strike DOES NOT break Tactical Cloak assuming you took One Power Evo.
EDIT: It IS long enough if you have 200% CDR but you have to be quick (plan your attack before just diving in).

Does Shadow Strike benefit from the TC's melee damage bonus?
Shadow Strike's tooltip says it's a melee hit so...one directly assumes so.
That said, Shadow Strike is also effected by Power Damage (visual number increase).
So whether or not it's BUGGED atm is hard to say.
From brief napkin math & some tests on Bronze & Silver though?
Stuff is dying faster when Cloaked :'3.
Hard to say without number crunching & confirming the whole "power damage" thing, sorry.

Tactical Cloak: spec this all the way, at rank 4 take duration, rank 5 take melee damage bonus, and rank 6 take the bonus power.
Electric Slash: Only go to rank 5 on this one, I specced it all the way at first but it really doesn't need to be, especially when most of your attacks benefit most from melee damage. Ranks 4 and 5 spec however you want, personally I went with damage at rank 4 and buffed explosions at rank 5, and its working nicely.
Shadow Strike: The Shadow's bread and butter. Obviously go 6 on this, but I went with increased damage, rank 5 go with the 40% DoT damage, and rank 6 go Shield Drain. Reason is as Infiltrators cannot regain shields while cloaked, this can help refill your shields should you run low. Plus it makes up for the Shadow being relatively squishy.
N7 Shadow: Only go 3 on this, the top 3 tiers aren't worth it for damage sake.
Sword Mastery: Go all 6 in this one. Maximize damage, and at rank 6 go with increased damage to armor. Since Shadow Strike with Shield Drain already does tons of damage to shields and barriers, the extra armor damage really helps against the boss types. Plus, the extra armor damage applies a flaming effect to the sword, which is also awesome
Now for bosses, I have only tried this out on Bronze and Silver, but I expect with Gold you just need to deal a bit more damage to the bosses to down them. Here's what I have found effective...
Phantoms - The Shadow is THE anti-Phantom class now. TC and SS her; on Bronze she will die in one hit. On Silver, she will more than likely have a sliver of health left, so you can finish her off with melee strikes or let the DoTs from SS finish her. If she manages to melee you too much get away to avoid the sync-kill.
Atlases - You have to be a bit more careful with Atlases but the Shadows can still be very effective. Electric Slash from safety (TC if you have to) until the shields are down. Then TC and SS the Atlas armor twice, and don't be afraid to heavy melee after while TC is on CD. Doing this on Bronze or Silver they go down pretty fast. As with the Phantom just be careful of the melee to sync-kill.
Brutes - As the OP said wait for them to charge, then just TC and SS twice and heavy melee if you need to. Goes down fast. Beware melee and sync-kill.
Banshees - Same as the Atlas really, except since Banshees have the unpredictable sync-kill you have to be very careful. Wait until her defenses are down so she has to melee before the sync. Have your teammates help you of course.
Geth Prime - Same as the Atlas, just make sure you prepare to evade the Prime's shots and try not to get caught off-guard by his drones. Easy kill.
Feel free to add this to the OP if you like, I found this effective and I think others will as well
Edit: Also, with this build most shielded enemies, like Centurions and Marauders, will die in one hit with SS while in TC. The duration bonus, rather than raw damage, for TC is simply so that you can a get a second SS in time before the TC expires. With everything else where it is, its easy to forego the 40% damage bonus at rank 4 of TC.

Done just that, thanks :'3.
I agree with Electric Charge not needing Rank 6, the rest? Well, pretty much as standard from what I've found, hehe.
However, here's the thing.
Shadow Strike DEFINITELY IS MELEE DAMAGE. There's no doubting this.
Problem is, according to more than 1 person, if you take a Power Damage trait from the N7 Shadow Passive track, the damage on Shadow Strike goes up.
I'm currently confident that this is a bug - a visual error.
We'll have to get BioWare confirmation I think.
