Welcome to our Gascard DuPuis fanclub!

Gascar is an Orlesian of noble birth who now lives in Kirkwall. Another information is hard spoiler so let me say the main thing about him.

Gascar shows that not all bloodmages can be a crazy monsters. He is clever man who knows what he is doing, and that show us truly danger of blood magic better than any of mage type "****-my-whrists-dance-naked-of-the-moon". Instead of them Hawke can give Gascard a chance.

If Hawke allowed him to leave, Gascard will send you a letter and package at the beginning of Act 3 stating that he has given up magic.

It seems he sold his soul for his sexy orlesian look. Maker there is no flirt icon where it must be. And I hope to see him in DA 3.

Wiki:
Gascard DuPuis
Gift for Hawke

Mods:
Anders get Gascard DuPuis pretty face

Videoguide how save Gascard:

Don't tell templar about him

Meet him in Darktown and let Gascard find Leandra for you

In Quentin use star icon special choice and don't take Varric in party. Hawke must be agressive or diplomatic.

And Final meet him in Darktown with Fenris or Aveline

In act 3 you get letter and gift.

Here is my video about Garret Hawke and Gascard tragic romance

Blood mage heart

I found him to be super hot also.

My first 3 playthroughs I always killed him but on my current playthrough I let him live to see how different the quest would unfold. I liked bringing him along to find my mother but Varric was in my group and he freaking killed Gascard with an arrow through his throat. I was so mad because I had no idea he was going to do that. He didn't even let me convince him not to side with the freak that kills my mother.
Oh I wish I played on PC to give his face to Anders.

I also think he's hot, but yeah, he's a bad boy lol I would not want to romance a villain.

Who would want to become Mrs DuPuis? Especially if you already have a cool name like Hawke.

Hmmm I think I must have missed something in that storyline because I never considered him a bad guy? I always took him at face value as someone who's looking to catch his sisters murderer? I always let him go but it could well be he had more to do with it than I realised?
Personally he's my second sexiest 'villian' from DA2. Castillon is definitely the hottest.  If I were Isabela I wouldn't have had a problem going with him....:kissing:

OMG :o Um, yes.  He is bad LOL Very, very bad.  *cough* I don't want to say more because I don't want to spoil it for you.  But I can only suggest that you ... try to find him in Darktown next time and let him lead you to Leandra instead of following Gamlen.

Castillon is a hottie, yes indeedy!  And a businessman!

Yes. After you get the All That Remains quest, instead of going to Lowtown for Gamlen and the kid, go to Darktown to talk to Gascard. For additional fun, make sure Varric is also in your party.

I don't think he is bad. He is grey- he do nothing with Leandra. And in the end he leave blood magic. But only if Hawke give him a chance.

I've just gone back to do the quest but none of the options when we meet Quentin let me save Gascard? I can either tell him Quentin's mad (and he joins him) or tell him he doesn't want to do this (and he still joins him?). What am I doing wrong?

I also realised rather late (after no fewer than 4 play throughs: duh!) that you could find Gascard and take him with you. Afraid I'm also getting a seriously bad-boy vibe there...haven't managed to get any response which remotely resembles an intention to relinquish blood-magic.

Talk to Gassy in style you want (I use agressive Hawke) intil you get  conversation with star icon special option.
Use special option an save Gassy.

If he stay alive- in Act 3 he send Hawke a letter and gift.

I personally don't see the appeal of a guy who wants to learn necromancy from an insane serial killer who just made a fleshy jigsaw puzzle of your mother, but you know. To each their own.

No matter what options I'm selecting there is no special star dialogue appearing. Is there maybe something you have to have previously said/done to Gascard to make this an option?

I did it in two playthroughs, i think you need wither hard or diplomatic personality to get a star type dialogue that lets you talk Gascard out of turning on you.

He doesn't have a sister, he made that up. The only reason he was tracking Quentin was because he wanted to learn his secrets on necromancy (The magic that made Leandra into a walking zombie). The picture in his house that he said was his sister was actually girl he killed to experiment on with said necromancy.

What a hunk.

You think Merril is better? She is blood mage too. She consort with demons and her stupid actions kill Marethary and all her clan.
Isabela is a pirate- she killed many people, much more than Gascard. But everyoune love her.

Yes it is. My Hawke was agressive all game.
