Not Quentin. Gascard didn't have a dead wife that he want to return. I imagine him as cruel doctor who will work in name of progress. Who knows may be dr. Gascard will stay in next generations as first reanimator.
But we have no opportunity to know what if he get these knowleges. So sad- I'd like to see that.

Just because he doesn't have a dead wife to re-animate doesn't mean he'll never lose his wife(or husband for all we know)  With great power comes great responsibility and all that...  Though I find it unsurprising if he ended up like the next Quentin, not to bring back a lost loved one but perhaps chopping people up and reanimating them in the name of "knowledge" like the DA universes Dr.Frankenstein just without the cool laboratory and fashion sense.

In DA:O mages can learn a raise dead spell, makes a cute skeleton that helps fight. So being a necromancer doesn't necessarily mean evil. Although my warden that learned it did have a bit of a murder knife obsession. Shame Hawke couldn't learn that spell, she'll just have to make do with blood slave.

Conjuring cute skeletons and chopping people up, piecing them together again and bringing them back to life are two different things... At least to me :\\

Gascard want to call sceletons and zombie. And angry at Quentin because he refuse to teach him. Why people sure that Gascard want to be next Quentin?

I sort of agree with this actually. For all we know Gascard's reasoning is 'I really hate what Quentin does because it's so extreme but if I want to be a necromancer there aren't a lot of teachers to choose from'? The fact he leaves blood magic if you spare him almost supports this - maybe he realised just how insane Quentin was and decided he didn't want to become that?

I just get the feeling from the character that he's not an evil guy. Dunno why though.

meh, perhaps it's from my usual Pro-templar approach to the whole blood mage thing...
