Hello everyone! After hearing so much about the Mass Effect series, and loving Dragon Age Origins, I finally started this. I pretty much stuck to the main mission in ME1 just to be able to try all 3. I finished 1 and am 12 hours or so into 2. By far, this is the best series of games I've ever played. I'm not a shooter fan personally. I prefer RPG's like DAO and Elder Scrolls, but the story here is absolutely phenomenal and so well done. Now, i wish I had really done all in the first game because I didn't realize once the main mission is over, you can't go back and just explore. Unfortunately, I had no prior save to go back to. I heard that for ME2 and 3, you can still do side missions and exploration even after finishing the main mission. is that correct? I hope so.
So far, I like how the gear and upgrades are handled in 2. As much as I like micromanagement, the sheer number of upgrades in 1 got a little overwhelming. Anyway, that's about it. Just wanted to say hi, and damn I wish I found these games earlier. I feel so left behind.
