I have placed a few screenshots in my album, here ...

Basically, I get this notification about a Tag on a Photo.  When I go to that page, I get an error saying the group has been deleted or no longer exists (not true, the group is very much still there).

Eventually, the orange notification at the top will show up again; no matter what I do, I cannot make it go away permanently.

This bug still exists and is now actually worse than before. I am stuck at "10 New Updates" all of which are "1 New Tag(s) on your Group Photo: Untitled". Each of them links me to what seems to be a bit different. Here are some of the links:

Clicking on the links does NOT remove the "New Update", so I have been at 10 all weekend.

Just an update -- this still exists

Just checking in again. I have 10 new notifications in the little orange bubble that don't want to go away -- EVER!!

Some time ago this problem was very common but they fixed it at some point. Try deleting the cashe of your browser if you haven't done so already, maybe that will fix it.

I am on a brand new laptop with a brand new install of Google Chrome ... the issue still exists. I donèt imagine I have anything in the cache!

I actually have this problem as well. Someone sent me a friend request and then withdrew it later. I still get the orange bubble telling me I have one pending friend request, but when I go check it out, there's nothing there. It's been there for weeks.
