Regardless of chances, the Rare to Uncommon to Common ratio is laughable.

Shouldnt commons and uncommons outnumber rares? hell, theres more URs than common weapons.

this is why people grind before the dlc drops.
the delete trick helps if you havent maxed that stuff.

honestly.. just keep playing bro, we've all gone thru this
and felt this way. New DLC drops and your instinct is to
want it immediately. But when you work for it... its so much
more satisfying. grinding gold gets old fast.. i know. Take it
slow run a couple farms and then play stuff you enjoy. Nonstop
grinding + the RNG will make you not wanna play. Youll get there
in time and youll learn valuable tricks along the way.

Necro thread? Necro thread. *nods*

I need 1 rare gear and 2 N7 UR's. Purchase SP's, PSP's and VP's. I got 2 Power Amp Mod's (IV) in a PSP today. I don't like to whine (has some gouda) but come on. Look at all my gear waiting to be upgraded. Did I really need 2 Power Amps or more ammo? No.

I think this system is just short-sighted. Yes it will generate more money/time spent on this particular game, but if you know ahead of time that you will have to invest very heavily to get perceived value out of a game, it can affect your future purchase decisions.

If there is a player out there who doesn't love or hate Mass Effect, but thought it was reasonably enjoyable, they can be swayed by how the multiplayer store was run when considering whether to buy the next BioWare game. While players that hate the game won't buy it and players that absolutely love it will, it's the incremental purchases that developers are cheating themselves out of in the long run. Most companies these days don't have long-term plans though, and I'm sure being beholden to EA's ROI demands isn't going to change that.

Oh well, if nothing else it makes it very easy to walk away from the game when the time comes.
