I just bought the Exiled Prince DLC for my current playthrough of DAII and upon undertaking the quest "Faith" in Act 3, the game freezes up immediately after the battle with the 3 mages.  Typically, the word "Loading..." appears in small white letters on the screen, but the game is frozen, requiring Task Manager to shut the program down.

I have read many accounts of this bug on this forum and on others using Google search, but there is NO solution for this glitch anywhere.  None that works, anyway.

I understand that these forums are worthless for getting actual Bioware help, but someone there ought to know about this issue.  I cannot believe that DLC that stops play in its tracks can be allowed to persist and continue to be sold.

What is the procedure for requesting a refund for DLC?  As it stands, this module is totally worthless for me and others, and if there is no fix for this bug then I should be able to get my money back.

I just got through with a live chat with EA. The Rep said that we *should* post on the forums (here) because the Devs look here first for issues.

She told me that the Devs were aware of this issue and that a fix was imminent. I was told just to wait. I hope it won't be too long.

Have you tried hitting [Esc ] when "Loading..." appears?
(Works in the similar Act II hang .)

Yes, I have. That doesn't work because the game is frozen/crashed once "Loading..." appears.

Edit: I was also advised by the EA Rep that there was no workaround for this bug.

Yes, indeed.

I was advised by the EA Rep just to wait and the fix would be forthcoming. Thing is, I don't know if that was BS or not. It would be nice to get some confirmation here from someone with "Bioware" under their picture. I've got my current game on hold because of this, and if there's nothing coming, at least I could roll back to an earlier save and skip this quest. I would think that some official word could be issued for the sake of guidance.

DA2 is LONG past the time that any further patch might be in the works.  The forum itself is equally long past the time (for the most part) that Bioware personnel drop in.

(THIS appearance was most amazing, and very RARE:  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/300/index/13685508/1#13820837

How do i write to EA to get my points redeemed for exiled prince?
It is broken DLC and what i see they do not plan to fix it so they sold me trash, but i find nowhere contact info beside this forums ?

I know we are supposed to push ESC and that fixes it but it does not when i try so it is unplayable because i am locked up after the first encounter completly.

So meh, where do i write to to have my points redeemed?

Same issue here folks. Basically EVERY cutscene in The Exiled Prince DLC hangs up. Hitting the esc key addresses the issue in most instances except the "Faith" quest, which "terminally locks up", leaving you no choice but to use task manager to exit the game entirely.

Same issue, I got mine with the SE rather than buying it separately. Redownloaded and installed 1.04 and it's still messed up.

yup me too. Just had it happen a few hours ago, while playing the Faith quest. Esc doesn't work; have to use the task manager to close the game.

Ouch, experiencing the same thing, and lost 2 hours of gameplay when I had to force close the game. Never happened before. But I don't recruit Sebastian often, and even then, i'm usually in the 3rd act so I don't know when it might have started.

Damn. I didn't have to pay for the DLC since it came with my original game, but I'd be incensed if I had. My issue so far is the 'loading' when you get to the end of Redemption and have to confront the mini-boss at the end of the quest. Esc works (though you miss out on some cutscene dialogue). I haven't reached Faith this playthrough yet.

I'd like to note that up to this playthrough, (I've played the game at least a dozen times) the DLC had been working perfectly, and if 'Faith' is broken, it's not that game breaking for me since I can just skip doing it (though it really ticks me off if that's what has to be done).

What bothers me is EA/Bioware is continuing to sell a product that is broken and no dev has responded on this thread in 2 months to say they're working on it, or even that they are aware of the issue.

Seeing everyone has been getting this issue about the same time, I'm wondering if some Windows update has made the DLC incompatible?

I've been having exactly the same issue but with the quest Faith. As there seems to be no official response to this issue for months I've PMed a few Bioware staff members. I'd recommend everyone else to do the same as the forum is a bit useless to get any official response atm. If enough of us do it hopefully we will get some information,

Unfortunately, like the OP (and others here as well), I purchased this separately only a few weeks ago. I originally played DAO and DA2 on the xbox, but I finally got a new PC, and decided to purchase the games for the PC. I bought the DAO:UE, but have been buying all the DA2 DLC as I play the game. I did have one crash on Repentence, but after a reload of a save I made right before the final showdown with the desire demon, it worked.

I have a save right before going into the throne room, for the quest Faith. I will try again today using that save, to see if I can get past the "loading" bug. A bit of a bummer if it doesn't get fixed.

There will be no more patches for either DA. This is not the same BW as when NWN(1) was their main game (many patches over a span of a couple of years). The owners sold out, and they have now moved on.

It could be very interesting to see how many more people post on this issue. When they first officially announced DA3, and added the new forum section, there have been many posters who have stated they are starting new runs of DAO --> DA2. Some who may not have played DA2 in a while. If the "Faith" issue is relatively new (have no idea how or why), then there may be many more to report this problem in the coming months.

Neither BW nor EA employees make any habit of regularly dropping in on the forums for older games, and they will probably lock down complaints posted to the "wrong" forum, in the new DA3 forum(s).

umm....wasn't expecting them to. Just stating it will be interesting to see how many more experience this issue in the coming months.

Still going to try reloading my save before the throne room, some time this evening. Don't expect it to resolve, but giving it a try nonetheless.

What is the updater?  I only see the 1.04 patch.  Where is the updater located on the site here?
