With the Slayer in MP -It's Kai in a helmet-

and they did admit to cutting alot of stuff with him.

granted this was back when I thought they would fix the damage done by Deception -They Fix Anderson, They Fix Kahlee, why the hell did they go with Deception Kai? Why? Cause it was Memorably bad?

and We  don't have a "Evil" squadmate/ Prone to Renegade Squaddie.

Javik talks a big game but doesn't back it up like Wrex or Jack

Ashley is more of a ***** then your human Renegade

and Morinth isn't around to be your EVIL teammate.

So, a responsibly written Kai Leng as your Token Evil Squadmate, He'd take half of Cerberus with him and add it too your forces... Your potentially working with the guy who murders several of your close friends.

Now that's a Dilema... The Galaxy or Personal Vengeance!

No. He was clearly being set up in the books as ME3's Dragon.

It would have been interesting if Kai Leng had been written better. Hell, it would have made for some really great story potential, being given the choice to recruit the man responsible for the death of a close friend/ lover, just like with Loghain from DA:O.

Sadly, I don't think the ME3 team would have done it. They seemed to love taking the easy way out with practically every conflict and turning everything into a case of balck vs white. If the entire ME2 writing team had returned with the same passion the team had for ME1 and 2, I could definitely see one of the writers taking a crack at such a story development.

Nope....and Ashley is more of a cynic that a "*****" as you so eloquently put.

Kai Leng is supposed to be a character that makes you hate Cerberus. With his smug attitude and his superior-than-thou mannerisms (even when he repeatedly backs off against taking Shepard head-to-head, toe-to-toe), Kai Leng is meant to be hated.

By hating Kai Leng, its hoped that the player will hate Cerberus as well.

Not just that, either. If you've read any of the books that he's featured, you would have an idea of just how ass-backwards Kai Leng being an ally of Shepard would really be. He's bloodthristy, violent, overtly xenophobic, and fanatically loyal to TIM. He wouldn't even bother working with Shepard when he could just kill him.

Anymore AssBackwards then Morinth?

Kai's also more intelligent and cunning in the book -since the other one doesn't exist- and while he is Loyal to the TIM and Cerberus. His devoted to Cerberus' ideals which he believes that TIM embodies. His essential a Renegade shepard from Me1 & 2 taken to it's logical extreme.

However ME3 is TIM slowly letting his ideals slip. Retribution states while his deathly loyal Kai is more then capable of thinking for himself -anybody whose played just ME3 laughs -_- -

though that might be against the Writing Teams idea that TIM is cobra commander and all his Cobra troopers are just brainless minions for him to command in me3

Granted they didn't really do a good job of proving Morinth's case though... You'd need to have a compentent writer pull it off.

Congratulations OP. This is literally the only thing idea I have heard of that would be the WORST part of ME3 if it were implemented. That's a pretty tall order you filled there.
