I'd say that thinking the only way to save the world is to join the military is a little short-sighted. Currently I'm trying to make the world a better place by volunteering with elementary school kids.

If women could be drafted, I wouldn't dodge due to personal convictions, but I'd certainly sympathize with dodgers. I can't guarantee I'd even be a good soldier, because I'll tell you right now I'd probably shoot to miss. That doesn't mean I want to see the world burn.

I'm not sure why we're discussing IRL military.

Back to the darkspawn, I wouldn't compare it to I am Legend (there's more than one of you, and most darkspawn are mindless) but it's fun to consider that angle.

I didn't mean to switch it to military chat, but I felt somewhat offended by our Bard friend suggesting that I was akin to a draft dodger. :/

As for Darkspawn, we're told they're mindless... I doubt it's true, personally.

Joining with the Archdemon could be interesting.  The cutscene in which Kolgrim calms and placates the high dragon was breathtaking.  The Imperium once served the Old Gods.  As a Warden, you bear the Taint and are in some ways one of the Archdemon's own.  Instead of uniting each race against the Blight, you could propagate the existing discord, sow chaos, kill various leaders, accomplish tactical objectives for the horde, etc.  Ah, what could have been...

But is it worth to sacrifice your life to save it?

And the OP is Saren btw.

Apparently women have a thing for aliens that will rip your bottom lip out when they kiss.

I... thought I was the only one. I find myself fascinated by them, and wish to see one naked. Also, Garrus is adorable like Alistair.

That jaw is freaky. Garrius wouldn't do that... on purpose.

I understand, I didn't care for the comment about having to join the military to prove you care about anything, but it was an incredibly incendiary comment and probably best left alone.

Re: Darkspawn, I'm basing my assessment on what we see in The Calling, mostly. There certainly are darkspawn capable of higher thought and reasoning (the emissaries). Darkspawn also forge crude weaponry, although they don't build but rather inhabit very old and abandoned dwarven structures. From what you learn in the book, darkspawn spend most of their time digging in the earth in search of the Old Gods, and this is why they are pushing throughout dwarven lands: more places to dig.

I was mostly joking about darkspawn wanting a utopia, although in the book it's kind of true. I'd explain myself but I'm blabbing spoilers left and right as it is.

ROFL. You definitely owe it to yourself to read The Calling and start writing some fanfiction featuring the Architect.

Aww come on, admit it you love that the danger of wondering whether or not his mandible might skewer you in the face should he flinch during making out when something gets caught in his eye.
