Bibdy, it is exactly what people are sayinig they are using hardware in a computer to patch broken game coding.

None of you somehow grasp that it's not possible for a game that has broken/corrupted programming coding which is what people are saying when saying there is a problem with the game, that no one can run it properly..no one on any system regardless of who they are because it is BROKEN PROGRAM CODDING EBEDDED INTO THE DISK ITSELF. means everyone gets that same exact corruption.

So yes everyone here is saying that their hardware PATCHES WHAT IS BROKEN IN THE DISK WHEN IT GETS INSTALLED.

When you install something corrupted you install the corruption as well, and if the corruption is in the game it means it's in the installation disk, which means everyone installs the broken coding adn corruption....

How are you or anyone else seriously going to say a problem in a game doesn't get installed by some people but gets installed by others.....

QFT!

I can't believe these idiots constantly engage Mystic and just derail what could be a good thread that delineates the issues Image IPB

So, no then. You're going to continue under the delusion that all software works 100% perfect 100% of the time, and if someone has a problem with the software, its really just a problem with hardware.

Okay, well I'm done arguing with this idiot, then.

Be nice, this is the first time I've had the pleasure of coming across his out-of-touch-with-realityness. I'm fluctuating between pity and astonishment!

Everybody, please stay on topic and stop derailing this thread more. Since I caught up with my forum reading I understand lots of people are having issues with gradually degrading load times, but that's irrelevant for this post. Also please don't call that problem a memory leak unless it's been confirmed by a dev that this is what causes it (and I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere). A memory leak is as likely to cause such an issue on some machines as are hundrends of other reasons. Just call the issue what it is for now (degrading loading times) so we can all be sure we're talking about the same thing and prevent misunderstandings. Use the PC technical support forum to report this issue, not this thread.

Fact if the gmae has a problem no one would be running it properly...that includes everyone becuase no one hardware allows one person to play a game fine that has broken game coding.

Hardware has nothing to do with this never has and never will

I dont' have problems with this game and nor do a lot of people so that proves the game itself does not have a problem

It's a very simple concept to grasp... If the game itself has a problem I wouldn't be able to play it with no problems and nor would anyone else.

You're wrong Zero. I work in the software industry. A piece of software can work in one environment and not at all in another if it isn't coded correctly.

The fact that you don't have problems with the game only proves that you don't have problems and someone with exactly the same system specs as you shouldn't have problems.

A memory leak is a problem that would affect some people more heavily than others due to system differences.

Andreas Papathanasis,

Thank you that is exactly what I have said numerous times constantly and keep getting bashed for it with people telling me I don't know what I am talking about. I have enev said show me where it says this on an official EA or BioWare site, and no one has been able to do that.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but you just disproved what everyone in this thread was saying about me and that feels good.

Even if this was not what yoru intention was by posting that I am still saying

Thanks!

Memory leak is not something hardware can fix, nor is it something hardware causes, it is a break in the coding making it corrputed. that comes from the installation set up on the disk itself, which makes it universal for everyone and everyone who has it would wind up with this.

The fix has to come from a software patch so therefore it's impossible for some computers to be running a game properly while some cannot when the problem can only be fixed by a patch. So if people sare going to say that something which can only be fixed by a patch works perfect on some computers and not others is 100% clear as day saying their hardware has a patching system.

Now please, people seriously need to stop talking about what you do not know then trying to justify it.

Now that's funny. You take the sentence

A memory leak is as likely to cause such an issue on some machines as are hundrends of other reasons.

And presume vindication? That's quite hilarious.

Now please, people seriously need to stop talking about what you do not know then trying to justify it.

Christ almighty the irony is killing me...

This thread never really had a leg to stand on, regardless. The OP seems to be under the assumption that Bioware has a bunch of high-res textures just sitting there, ready to ship, the only proof of which is some references in the toolset to high-res textures, which aren't included. Is it impossible to think they made the references before creating the textures?

Even worse, he presumes that Bioware is holding out on them, complaining about lack of developer response and support (yeah, like an ENTIRE TOOLSET is lack of support...).

I swear, people will find ANYTHING to complain about.

Can't people just be civil and say things like "Hey, Bioware, what's up? Do you have the high-res textures for the modding community to use? Because that would be awesome. Kthanx."

Why do people feel the need to jump to crybaby crap like "Give us those files, you jerks! You haven't paid a LICK of attention to us, and we demand answers! Down with Bioware!"?

I'm still waiting for someone to post up where we can all get one of these pieces of hardware that can patch broken coding in gaming software, so that one can play a game that has a problem with it perfectly without an actual software patch.

I'm still waiting for you to go play the game, have some high level chars, a lot of achievement seals, before coming to talk about the game.... (not that it matters but at least show that you actually played the game and has a minimum idea of what you're talking about... what's that, Dark? Oh... the irony...)

All of you seem to do an aweful lot of talking all this nonsense but why is it when it comes down backing up anything you are all saying with true facts about what you all keep rambling about you go blank or try changing the subject with non relevant statements that have nothing to do with anything?

What i said still holds true:

Zero - google "straw man".

In fact, here's a link for you to save the time: http://www.nizkor.or.../straw-man.html

Meanwhile, back on topic, could someone clarify for me what the issue is that might prevent or hinder a texture-moddery person from doing with DAO's textures what uncle Qarl did for Oblivion's textures? Is the problem that it would take more work because the vanilla textures are not as high-res as the vanillas in other games where modders have high-res-ificated them or am I not understanding it (quite possible, I know little about textures or modding - but I do value modders doing wonderful things that make stuff shiny).

I do hope they'll fix the degrading load times in the near future. Yet it's not a game breaking problem really, and hardly even worth this much debate. People call it a memory leakage problem, but really they have no idea what's the true cause of the problem. Nor should they care really, as long as Bioware is aware of the problem (it is) and they're doing something about it (they probably are).

As for the TOPIC OF THIS THREAD I really doubt Bioware is going to make any changes to textures. At most they'll fix a few textures if they're really missing. Paying for a new texture upgrade would most likely result to a backlash amongst the community.

I do hope in the future expansions Bioware would bother to do higher resolution textures as the current ones are outdated. As someone already pointed out, most people already have at least 512MB of vram. Overall DA:O graphical settings are overly simplified and feels like having about as much choice in graphics as with a console game.

Meanwhile I hope there are some good modders that manage to do nice community texture patches that'll fix the most glaring texture problems.

PEOPLE'S HARDEWARE HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH CORRUPTED GAME PROGRAMMING CODING...
NOTHING AT ALL YOUR HARDWARE CANNOT MAKE A BORKEN GAME WORK PROPERLY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE

Unless your hardware can patch that games broken coding

You cannot have a problem in a game coding then have it work properly on one persons system and not on others. A problem within the game itself effects everyone the exact same way, and hardware does not come into play in broken game codding.

So yes when people say there is a problem within the game itself, then say it works fine on some people's systems and not others is not only contradictorary but saying that the people who have it running right have a piece o hardware in their system that has patched that corrupted coding so that it works fine.

Have any of you seriously listened to yoruselves.

You all say there is a problem with the game itself, then start saying that problem in the games programming and currpted progamming works perfect in some people's system because of their hardware.

WTF...You people are insane

You are seriously writing the stupidest things I have seen on these boards since I registered.  That's saying something. You have no idea what you're talking about.  Please shut up.

There's some nice texture patches out, but at 500+ MB, they're not worth it for me. :pinched:

Edit: Not worth the time it'd take me to download, that is. A little under 4 hours at 40kb/s.
