So yay, now there are more Rare items in the Store to dilute the pool and make it even harder to get the items we actually DO want. More Gear items. Booyah. More Weapon Mods. Woohoo. I was so pleased to get that new SMG mod, it's going to really transform my gameplay. That's so much better than finishing leveling up my handy-dandy humble Carnifex.

Not.

I can't imagine what a new player must think when they look at the bewildering array of crap they have to level up in order to level up the things they actually USE. I get that they're trying to get obsessive compulsive people to spend cash money to collect their bits and bobs, but it sucks for the rest of us who aren't completionists who just want to have a good weapon, or frickin' Pattern options for our go-to characters.

You could just not install the DLC. Then you won't unlock any of the new stuff.

If I remember correctly you can simply delete the packs you don't want the " crap " from and you will not get the items you don't want. So you don't want the earth stuff? Then don't get the earth DLC. Simple enough.

Welcome to video games? Buying a new suit of armor in an old school RPG cost money. Money you grinded for by killing enemies in random battles. If the developers somehow released a free equipment pack that granted you new equipment to buy, its still free. The earning of money is playing the game.

If you are bored playing the game for equipment, then stop playing. That is the ultimate goal of this MP; to collect all the stuff. Even with the random system, its still all a matter of investment. All Rares will eventually be unlocked, and after that, you have about a 1  in 10 UR unlock chance. Its random, but its fairly consistant over large samples. Your "purchase" of these items is made with in game money that you get by playing the game. If you consider that not free, then I think you have just fooled yourself into thinking video games are work.

With the exception of common human cards, this is no longer happening.

Sure, you're likely to get those mods up front, but gear is different and not always guaranteed to take place of a weapon/character.

 Or you could just do what everyone else does before the buy a whole bunch of packs.

1.) Delete DLC packs containing items not wanted/needed
2.) Keep DLC pack that you do want
3.) Spam PSP's until heart's consent.
4.) Stop whining and enjoy the game :happy:

Gear has a pretty consistant unlock rate; its only frustrating to unlock for people who have been playing long since before Gear arrived. It shows up around 20% of the time. Anyone starting NOW would have a pretty easy time finishing Gear . . . probably before finishing their guns.

Lol. not comparable, just hate it when people say that free should mean that something is beyond judgement. Some free stuff (beatings, for example) is actively harmful.

Not the case here, just get annoyed when I hear that.
