bronze to level up and have fun, geth farming to get the stuff, EVERY SINGLE DAY SINCE RELEASE, I am not giving up, not breaking, not surrendering. I won't spend any cash, or quit, I am a very patient person. I will get there. I am also an unemployed loser who can play most of the day like maniac cause I have nothing else to do. Sometimes I think though, what other people think about it. Some have jobs, some have real life, some can't affors paying additional money for games. On the other hand there are people who are filthy rich and play 12 hours a day like pro's and nobody will tell them anything like "stop that stupid game and get a job, you loser"

I sometimes really wonder whats the inside Bioware policy, what they really think about the players and what they expect us to do...

9 PSPs since Earth dropped on Tuesday...zero new characters. I think I'm just going to save up for the weekend and hope they introduce an Earth pack to the store on Tuesday.

Please, no one else offer up this same suggestion. I UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS. And if I ONLY wanted Resurgence, Rebellion, or Earth characters, or had a desire for one group over the others, I would grudgingly accept this advice and possibly try it. BUT I DON'T. So please just STOP telling me that this is the solution—to grind through hours and hours and hours of repetitive game play with my existing characters in the hopes—hopes! not guarantees!—that I'll unlock one of the new characters or get unlocks for my existing characters. I'll get all the other Rare stuff FIRST no matter what I do, because that's how the Store rolls. BioWare knows that what people really want is the new characters, so they trollishly tweak the drop rate to favor all the other "rare" items and holds the character cards out of reach to all but the most dedicated players. And they keep adding MORE Rare items into the pool, items of questionable gameplay value to me. Sorry, but if that's the player base they want, that's the player base they can have, but that's not me.

I can't imagine what a new player must think when they look at the bewildering array of crap they have to level up in order to level up the things they actually USE.... :pinched:

I agree with this sentiment.
New players really do walk into an ever expanding array of items they will most likely never use. It is a dilution that makes getting essential/worthwhile items that much harder to get. At some point the random drop system needs to be adressed.

Only other suggestion I can give is:

Play with a group of friends that you can joke around with; you said yourself that I play a lot. I only play a lot because I have a group of 3-4 friends that I specifically play with. If I didn't play with the same friend each and every day I would've quit before I even got a single uncommon to level 10.

Were it not for them I'd probably be playing Battlefield 3 again, or sitting and playing the crap out of Killing Floor.

It IS pretty much a guarantee. Using the suggested method I unlocked what I wanted. I'm not sure how sitting there pouting and being unwilling to accept solutions helps you, but if it does. Keep at it.

Ugh, what is wrong with you? Did you not understand what I wrote? I don't want just one or two items from a specific DLC pack, I want items from one CATEGORY from ALL DLCS.

Seriously, reading fail in this thread is EPIC.

you whined for 2 days about not having time to play this game while people offered you advice, and call everyone on these forums all kinds of stuff but here you are 2 days later, still hanging on every word, still crying and moaning... its hilarious.

Several of these posts have been fairly personal.  I believe THAT is why the OP responded in the way she did and has continued to respond.

The shop as it stands does not function well for either new or experienced players.  However, in view of how the series ended...I don't hold out much hope of it ever changing, similar to these forums really.

That's a good idea. Changing the store so that you can at least exclude a category you're not interested in would be HUGE.

OP' s point is not hard to understand - we now have 42 characters, an arsenal of mostly mediocre weapons that differ far more on paper than in practice - the stand outs are well-known, and the others best use is for accomplished players who want to give themselves a handicap - the mods are somewhat a better lot, while the gear is getting sliced and diced into a bewildering array of combos, etc. that may eventually confound rather than enable optimizing equipment selection.

Whether this is all too much already is a matter of opinion - but clearly BW cannot continue this process endlessly - at some point proliferation will grow past any utility and the players expectations of upgrading a reasonable selection of favored choices will be lost in the fog.

Yeah, pretty much. If people are going to be jerks, I'm not going to be the meek mousey woman and go cry in the corner. That's not my style. Somebody wants to dance, I'll dance. And I might step on their toes.

It still boggles my mind that people are defending the Store. It's a crappy reward system that ONLY rewards the people who treat it like a full-time job. So not for me.

You just don't understand how the DLC uninstall will help. Yes you want CHARACTERS from ALL packs. But if you have LESS rare weapons to get, your chances of getting a CHARACTER will go up.
That is what we are trying to tell you...and it rewards people who have money to spend on virtual things, and people who get random drops.

Thanks for a well-reasoned post. To me, it's already reached that point. I used to think I was a fairly serious player, but the last two DLCs just added so much to the Rare pool that the few Rare items I do want are hopelessly beyond my reach for the amount of time I could possibly dedicate to the game. And I'm sure there are even MORE items coming, in fact I just saw that there were numerous Weapon Mods that aren't on the manifest yet because they're still working out the bugs. Ugh! Like I care about Weapon Mods. But I currently have no way to tell the store "don't give me these".

I agree with the op, there are only 3-4 rare weapons that are actually good, rest are all fillers. Needless to say the weapon i use the most (reegar carbine) was among the last that i level'ed to X. Craps like Kishock harpoon gun/spike throwers were among the first few to reach X which i have never used so far.
So to get your favourite weapons you either need to play alot or have to play a very longtime. And the both new rare's add up as more fillers.

OMG. All it's doing is compartmentalizing the different pools of items. I'll STILL have to wade through the other Rare drops for whichever DLC I leave installed. And for the Earth DLC, with all the new Weapon Mods, Gear AND new weapons, it's still a fvck-ton of extra crap I don't want diluting the pool. Then, when I go for the Rebellion stuff only, I still have to wade through the extraneous Rare drops for THAT DLC. And so on. So I'm just compartmentalizing them. I'm still going to have to wade through them all eventually. How is wading through all of one DLC's Rare drops at a time helpful? I'm really scratching my head here.

I read quite few posts and people were saying just delete the other DLCs. How true is this and will the content you've already unlocked be deleted?
