Evidently, the point people have missed is randomization being a hindrance to those of us either not obsessed with multiplayer, unwilling to spend copious amounts of actual dollars or simply a victim of lady luck's time of the month. For instance, I do not play MP frequently but enough time has been put into it; say a few weeks worth. I have only now unlocked the Black Widow, albeit at a measly level one. Better yet, I just finished a Platinum run today and what did I unlock? Garbage.

That is needlessly frustrating, especially as we know the only reason it is implemented is to garner money from people.

This, like many video games, rewards you for the time you put in. Many video games cannot provide completion, or even remotely approach completion, if you do not put significant amounts of time into them. This game requires significant amounts of time. Why should you get the items I spent time to unlock if you aren't willing to put the time into it?

Yes, it's free, since we play for fun, not to get stuff, at least I do, which is health. So we enjoy the game, and get free stuff by enjoying it, unless you want to pay, then it was your decision.

YOU don't want this stuffs, The DLC, the store, the packs are made for everyone, not only for you. In the same way you are frustrated because there's more things to unlock, there's people happy because they finally have new stuff to get...

Unlocking things is a big part of the game for me, and a lot of other people I'm sure. Making it linear, ie letting you choose would just make the system incredibly stale and boring imo.

I do think an ultra rare pack would be a good idea though.
maybe 500000 or 1000000 for a guaranteed UR (among some other random stuff).
I dunno about the price but it would need to be a lot. And of course it would have to still be a random UR.

Why not save up till you have 5 million or something, then delete all DLC's but the DLC containing the Harrier and start buying PSP's if you want it that badly?
If you dont have the DLC installed you wont have the items from said DLC dilluting your pool, eventually your bound to get your Harrier since the RNG is running out of options.

spend your money and download them again....
then you do not have this problem, and everyone is happy, hooray.

Welcome to video games? Buying a new suit of armor in an old school RPG cost money. Money you grinded for by killing enemies in random battles. If the developers somehow released a free equipment pack that granted you new equipment to buy, its still free. The earning of money is playing the game.

If you are bored playing the game for equipment, then stop playing. That is the ultimate goal of this MP; to collect all the stuff. Even with the random system, its still all a matter of investment. All Rares will eventually be unlocked, and after that, you have about a 1  in 10 UR unlock chance. Its random, but its fairly consistant over large samples. Your "purchase" of these items is made with in game money that you get by playing the game. If you consider that not free, then I think you have just fooled yourself into thinking video games are work.

Some people do spend REAL MONEY on this crap. Honestly, not everyone wants to spend 40 hours a week playing this damn game. Maybe I do need to quit playing, because a lot of you sound like complete tools, and I certainly hope I never run across you in a public lobby. I'm sure you're all about topping the leaderboard and pwning the noobs as well as maxing all your Ultra-Rares. I just like to play for a few hours every few days. I actually try to do teamwork, and use characters that play to the strengths of the other characters in the lobby. Freakish behavior, I know, but deal with it. So because I don't have the level of commitment of the hardcore "leet" types, I still don't have all my Resurgence characters and items maxed. Nor do I have all of the Rebellion characters and weapons unlocked. And now there's this whole crop of OTHER new characters and weapons, which are fine, but then there's the Gear, and the new Weapon Mods, and at this rate I'll never catch up. I'll max out useless garbage weapons like the absurd Kishok, while my oft-used weapons and characters remain at low levels. If you lot like the store the way it is, more power to you. Go play in traffic.

i did it this morning and id done it before.
 i assure you arent losing anything.

Harrier was in the dlc before this one.

Anyway I don't know if that would even work.

you guys. it works. if you delete the dlcs of the stuff you dont want you cannot get it with packs.
you wont be able to play the game with others until you reinstall it, and you wont have access to the characters or the equipment at all.
reinstall it and your content is there......

First off, new players don't come in pre-programmed to use the single best weapon in any category.  They get choices and are encouraged to use the weapons they have at their disposal until they find the ones they they like.

Second, a fully leveled weapon is not required to enjoy the multiplayer experience.  If that's what you think then it's obvious you don't know much about actually playing the game.

Lastly, if you don't like the new options don't install the DLC.  It is not required to play and if it is not installed you don't have to worry about getting weapons and characters you don't want.

Did you bother looking at your options before coming here to whine about getting more options or are you just starved for attention?

Uh no, you don't get it at all.

The difference between you and a completionist is simple.  A completionist plays because they want to try and eventually have everything.  You on the other hand don't want to try anything but want to have everything on an arbitrary list of good guns that meet certain criteria.  You don't care about playing the game, you just want the level 10 gun you like to use... most likely so you can stop using it and quit playing a game you no longer enjoy.

Just do us, and yourself a favor.  Change whatever value you need to change on some spreadsheet buried in the game files, feel a brief moment of joy seeing all the weapons you want at level 10, and move on to another game, preferably one you enjoy playing more than you enjoy looking at and modifying spreadsheets.

so the guy who only wants the harrier can delete resurgance and this one and the only urs he could get are the originals and the ones in the rebellion ( particle rifle and harrier)
obviously this is only worth the time if you save credits.

Both sides of this argument are full of too much vitriol. Yes, the random system is annoying and needs some slightly less frustrating option. Yes, it's free dlc with optional transactions which makes it nice. None of that warrants the open hostility displayed by too many people in this thread.

It's not perfect. It needs work. But it could be worse.

it works lol i did it this morning so i wouldnt get the particle rifle or any of the crappy resurgance consumables with my 27 psps.
i got 5 ultra rares but that wasnt one of them.
i reinstalled the dlc and played the game.
