Thanks. Finally somebody gets it. Early on I was having good luck with the Store. When Resurgence came out, I got the Justicar the first day, and that was the only character I really wanted. When Rebellion came out, I got the Quarian Male Engineer right away, and that was the only one I really wanted. But today I unlocked the frickin N7 Destroyer, when all I want is the Demolisher or the Adept—the Fury or whatever. But I'm not going to game 14 hours a day for the next 6 weeks on the off chance that the store will give me one of those characters. The math is not on my side at this point, because I haven't been grinding the damn game since launch. I only play Adepts and Engineers. I don't give two sh¡ts about the other classes. Soldiers? No. Vanguards? No. Sentinels? No. Infiltrators? No. But I've got just as much chance of unlocking all those characters and even more of unlocking the absurdly specific Gear and Weapon Mod stuff. So unless you're glued to your console (sorry, I have a full-time job) you get no love from the Store.
But hey, if people like it the way it is, more power to you.
I find it hard to be sympathetic.
They are releasing DLC with stuff that you actually want. You can't argue that it's 'stuff that should have existed in the first place' because really we are are seeing bizarre race/class combinations and all sorts of weapons that were never in the single player game.
You get some things you want, you get some things you don't want. IMHO it all balances out. If you don't like the variety, then don't install new DLC. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Especially when it's free.
In your opinion, it balances out. Well, I guess you play a lot more than I do, or like playing a wider variety of characters and equipment than I do. Personally, I wish the Store would allow you to upgrade or unlock something by sacrificing something else. I would be on board with that. I'd trade in that dumb Kishock to unlock a new character at level I, especially if it meant that I would still never have to see Kishock cards again. But, you know, the Store is perfect as it is, what do I know. I'm obviously not the target audience for this product.
Just by looking at your multiplayer manifest I can tell you play more than I do.
You should probably put away all these, 'I have a life and a job and am a casual player and you guys don't' insinuations. I can tell you that I don't have an Justicar, or a Quarian Engineer, or a Destroyer, and whatever else you might have been fortunate enough to get from these free DLC packs. I'm probably more of a casual player than you are. I can tell you yes, I have a full time job. I'm fine with this. So yeah, your second guess is right. I enjoy playing a wide variety of characters.
There's nothing stopping you from playing your favorite characters over and over. But if you want one of the new variants, because suddenly it seems shinier, then you might have to endure some of the stuff you don't want. Sorry but you just can't get 'only the best of the new free stuff'. It would be nice if we could, but that's just not how it works, and it's certainly not something that I think we can really lambast Bioware for considering it's free, optional DLC.
