What's especially hilarious is the absurd names they're coming up with for all the filler. "Pistol Cranial Trauma System"? "Martial Biotic Amp"? "Combatives Upgrade"? They're not even trying to conceal the fact that it's useless stuff to string you along and keep you coming back to the store to unlock the new characters and weapons. Like those super-specific new items really make any difference in game play.

They've gotta make that money somehow. :P

BioWare should just bend over for OP, so he can be happy.

That might no go exactly as you envision it, pal. I'm female, though clearly you just assume everyone around here is male. Feel free to make gender-appropriate inappropriate comments about me though. Should be fun.

Love how intolerant you are in this thread, its remarkable. Almost like you expect BSN to say what you want to hear.
Anyways, this thread is becoming a troll thread, I'm out.

Someone expecting others to agree with their opinion? Outrage! We can't have that! Nobody should have that!

It's not all that unreasonable. Kind of the point of the DLC. The trailer showed us three new maps, three new weapons, and six new characters - NOT a **** ton of new mods and gear and consumables that you'll need to unlock to get to the good stuff.

Seems legit.

If any trollishness has permeated this thread, it's from comments like yours. I had a legitimate gripe, and got jumped on by the epeen types. Your very visual input added nothing of value to the conversation. So, chide me again for being intolerant, why don't you?

I agree with the OP

Think about the people who might have started playing multiplayer later then everyone else. The people who enjoy multiplayer but only like to play for short periods of a time or don't have the time play regularly. After getting items you don't want over and over again and still not unlocking the weapons or characters you want playing just gets really cumbersome and disappointing. I mean I would love to actually try Asari Adept one day... I just probably have to max every other character and weapon first at this rate.

Really? These packs cost zero MS point to download. They add much needed variety to the multiplayer experience for those (like me) who play this game a lot. As many people have said, if you don't want it don't download it.

I struggle to think of a developer of late that has given everybody the first four DLC packages for free. If that means you have to put in a little leg work to open up the new content so be it. Or should BW make the new content instantly unlocked on completion of download? Of course not, you'd stop playing the game sooner because there'd be no point.

I still don't have the Javelin or eagle. I've only just got the Talon but so what, I have so many other great weapons that get the job done. So surprised somebody would complain about free DLC packs that add longevity and variety. I applaud BW for their continued support and look forward to the next DLC.

Complaining about FREE stuff.

Get out.

Free?

You have to earn credits in the game to buy the packs to unlock the items. Or pony up cash money. It's NOT free.

The if you don't want it, don't download it, really doesn't make any sense if you have friends who play regularly.

I would still like to play with them. TYVM

While I don't think that Bioware should stop making new stuff...the balancing needs a lot of work. Every-time a new class and or weapon is released, its always way more powerful than anything else and half the time weapons that used to work well are nerfed majorly. A better array of decent weapons would be nice instead of just a few weapons that are difficult to get.

And of course the drop system could use some improvements...perhaps a special pack that allows for weapons, another for mods, another for characters, etc...Idk. I just notice that if I stop playing for a few months, I come back and whatever I was doing before is no longer effective and I have to figure out what is and half the time I don't have the classes or weapons I need because all the older ones are nerfed. Anyway, just a few thoughts, don't have to agree.

Let's be honest...the real casual players probably aren't complaining too hard about not having a Carnifex X or having the Asari Justicar. Most of the times a game forum debate erupts on the topic of the desires of the 'casual player', there aren't any true casual players involved in the debate.

I just find perplexing that people are championing the Store system. I guess they're masochists or something. Whatever. I never dreamed that people would rally to the defense of Bioware, much less the STORE, the way they have. I'm over it. If people enjoy banging their heads against the wall, that's fine, but I'm not going to.

It's free, only requiring time from the player unless they choose, of their own free will, to pay money. Most would rather spend the time then pay the money since the chances of getting exactly what you want are low. What people need to have is patients. It's obvious to a large percentage of people, clearly as 'most are defending the store' that the store is designed to require lots of play time for you to get everything or what you want. Thats the design and it's perfectly reasonable. You can not just get what you want right away and you can not expect that, it's free. You didn't pay for the DLC you don't even have to download it if you don't want whats in it and in return you only need to spend time to acquire what you want or for the more impatient and wealthy throw money at it until you get what you want. If we had to pay for the DLC and then hope to randomly get what we paid for then you have a valid point, but this system was set up day one and laid out the rules for everything from then on. Perhaps some disliked it then but you can't expect everything to just be given to you, to be set up the way you want, they chose a system to require you to spend time in their game and it works.

Can I still complain that the content advertised isn't the content I'm unlocking?
The mods/gear are fillers - that's the issue I'm seeing. I don't mind maxing out a couple of weapons because I only need to do it ten times each, but then to need to max out each of the seven new gear modifications and 'still' not have the new characters we see in the trailer? Feels kinda ****ty.

Spent almost 2 million and only have the Slayer unlocked.

TBH no I don't care about having Carnifex X (hate that gun anyway) but I do very much care about having Asari Justicar because that's a new way to play that I might really enjoy instead of the character I normally play regardless of what level I'm playing.

Weapon levels don't really matter unless your playing high difficulties but characters always matter.

Both sides have railed into petty insults, so, yeah...

Look it's clear that you're not happy with the store system, but taking it out on the community and making generalizations about the game's player-base isn't exactly helping.

Almost everyone has to vent, but chill for a second and listen to those that are actually trying to help. You came forward with a problem, the store system sucks they added too much to it, so earn a stockpile of money, delete the DLC you don't want anything from, and then buy all the packs you can and re-install it later. If you don't want to do that; there's no other alternative and at least people have tried to point one out.

It's a small inconvenience, but it's an actual solution to the problem. You came back afterward and threw it back in everyone's face; including those trying to help. Yes it can be frustrating. Sometimes we just have suck it up, though. No need to get into a pissing contest with everyone on here.

Concerning my situation, I don't play often to multiplayer (but still N7 680).

I tried very hard to get a Vortcha, but I keep getting stuff I don't want, the game bored me this time.

The idea of special packs for weapons or characters is a good idea and new characters would become more accessible, instead of getting crappy mods.
I don't farm the game in order to get millions of credits to unlock all the stuff at the release.

A new player on this game would be lost among all the stuff.
Oddly, I guess there are more rare characters and weapons than inhabitual...

Sprinkles on the cake - most of us are posting content, but there isn't a whole lot of listening going on. A lot of people seem flabbergasted that OP would complain about wanting to use the new characters she downloaded, and to me it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. A solution was proposed, but it doesn't deal with the problem which is that the new characters seem inaccessible for many and that's disappointing.

This isn't a rally cry to take down Bioware, just someone expressing disappointment and maybe hoping that some human beings might sympathize.

That's one solution. Another solution is to say "this sh¡t ain't worth it" and find something else to do. No skin off my nose if BioWare wants to play this carrot-on-a-stick game. I don't have to play that game, or any game. I'm not going to go through all the rigamarole of deleting and re-downloading DLC over and over again on the off chance that it will increase my odds in the Store. That's not a solution as far as I'm concerned. Because the math is still not in my favor. I've already made a dent in my Resurgence and Rebellion items, and knocking them out of the mix isn't going to do much about all that useless Gear and the stupid new Weapon Mods that drop in place of the character and weapon cards I might want. Instead of getting Resurgence and Rebellion items (some of which I might want), I'll just get the filler from the Earth DLC only. No.

Playing a game shouldn't feel like work, and at this point, it just feels like work, so it sounds like the solution for me is to play something else. But thanks for the suggestion.

Perhaps in the future, but all we can offer now are quick-fixes and suggestions until BioWare either decides to change the system or... Pretty much that I guess.

Store sucks; I hate it too. Some things I guess we just have to deal with, but I think we can all agree the community as a whole antagonizing one another definitely isn't helping. =]

If they at least had those promotional character packs more often I wouldn't be complaining.

In fact why didn't we get a free pack with this DLC? I was expecting one...

Basically guys the OP wants the best items of the DLC just given to him/her without any effort on their part. They have been given solutions on how to only get Earth characters and items and how not to get them and he/she still argues in here even after stating numerous times that they were quitting. All I have to say is DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT lol have a nice day, please come again. =P

I stopped playing ME3's multiplayer pretty much for this exact reason. The store system is awful. This game is actually a lot of fun. Seriously, if the store system wasn't based on random booster packs, I think it would be far more robust.

Whatever happened to straight up buying weapons with credits? Or at least splitting the packs into categories like weapons, characters, mods, gear, and consumables? Would that really be terrible? Instead we get one big pot of the never ending upgrades. The fact that you can get the exact same thing 5 or 10 times over is frankly insulting.

I am legitimately upset over BioWare's poor decisions. Instead I now play Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, which is better purely because the upgrade system actually makes sense. Also, their DLC dropped today too, and it cost $10. And you got all 6 new weapons right off the bat. Much, much better.

ME3
-Free DLC
-Content random
-Can buy "time" with real money, in the context that credits are simply earned with time

Other games
-Paid DLC
-Usually guaranteed new items
-If you don't pay for DLC, good luck playing online anymore

I'll stick with ME3 and have fun, thanks. Why is everyone so pressured to have EVERYTHING right now? If you have less time to play, you don't unlock as much as fast. Why is that an issue?

I come home from a hard days work, spend some time with my 2 kids, help my wife with dinner, then put on some good music like some Clapton or Hendrix and play a few hours of ME3 and I still manage to unlock everything playing with my 3 RL friends. And if you don't know who Hendrix and Clapton are you sir can go die in a fire. lol
