But there is some much garbage implemented by the mods, i think i will have to restart and make a cleaner, vanilla BGT... it took me whole day to install that crap -_-

ehm, never did that! dunno how that works :D

But im not the type for this; im too thickheaded and always fight every enemy desperately no matter the odds(/the reloads:lol:). I NEVER would have sneaked around the hobgoblins like you. And with all that mods the game is too hard for such "lumberjacking" *g
Maybe with the Vanilla BGT ...

Some easy 30+ k XPs are got just by killing Shoal the Nereid (5000 XP) and the Basilisks (1400 Lesser x8, 7000 and 4000 Greaters, Mutamin 1200). 2000 from Melicamp, 900 Marl, 300 Firebead, 2700 if you want him dead again. If you are soloing, you almost reached half the cap already.

With Trilogy or Tutu : Use Familiars to kill Elminster 3 times, getting 26K XP for each kill, if I am not wrong. And there you have it, high level single character :D

This can be used as a formula for any successful No Reload Run (for more info about this challenge, consult the Bioware boards in the spoiler section or simply join the group here on the social site!... ok, that was shameless advertisment, ok?).

Question, in BG1, where you using Trilogy, or Tutu? Or did you use nothing at all!

And how did you get all your stats so high, just kept rerolling?

And how do you hit so often, maybe its just me, but with every character I make, even with full points in a specific proficency, and using ONLY that weapon, not even duel wielding, using a shield, anything else, I still only hit once every 12+ swings, which usually leads to me dying without a party.

*questions from a DnD nub*

*edit* OH OH, And if I want max Strength, what does the / mean, as its the only one that has that, and would it be best to keep rolling till I find a good high number for my Strength score, then leave it at 17 until I get the Book of + Strength, or do the books bring you over the limit? >_>

Nothing at all.
Stats are gained from tomes which you can find each replay. :wizard:

+2 dagger +3 bow specced into both with gear such as bracers of archery, your missing is actually just an animation between attacks your character can look like they are swinging 3 times but are only attacking once, at least in vanilla BG.

What class was your character?

I see.

For me, I used to try going Fighter, but even if I had full points into Long Sword, and only used one Long Sword, I'd still get beaten by every Kobold, Gnoll, and well anything really, I just couldn't actually do any damage to them, not because I didn't do enough damage per hit, but because I never seemed to hit them, there would be no hit animation, sound of a hit, or even damage done, even after something like 10-12 swings in a row.

Because of that, I just went Mage, and now I just shoot Magic Missle at everything :l

Ranged weapons are best at low levels. If you use companions; make sure they all have ranged weapons, it helps a lot.

This works maybe with Vanilla BGT, Tutu.
But i used the Big World Installator. You get all mods via Internet downloaded and installed almost automatically.
I even unchecked most crap, but i got all fixes and balances.

This means: Firebead cant be killed lvl1 , because the moment you attack, he will get instant Defensive Spells and casts a memorized "Mass Maze"! After this he summons Ogres and hits you with Melf Meteors.

I better not try to think what happens against Elminster and Drizzt :crying:

btw: HOW do ya kill in Vanilla Elminster with an Familiar???

Vanilla Elminster won't attack you, he will just try to talk to you. Since the Familiar is like a party member which other NPC can't talk to, it can engage Elminster without risking too much. Sure, Elminster will still have some 100 HPs and AC -9000 or something, but critical hits will always hit. So, after waiting some 5 hours, the familiar should be able to take him down. Also note : this doesn't work with common summons for some reason. For some reason, Elminster will attack those and since Elminster's body doesn't have a specific attack animation, the game auto-crashes.

Also : Mass Maze? Heck that mast be one heck of a big bad spell!

Ugh... 5 HOURS??? I think its faster too get the XP in normal gameplay within 5 hours

2.And thats not the only thing in the BIG World: The encounters become harder, normal enemys behave more intelligent etc, you encounter more enemys> its more on BG2 niveau right from the start.
But also you will get almost no XP for Lockpick/Trap disarm/Spell learning and enemys like Bassilius and Firebeard are now really powerful.
So its a little too tough for my 2 characters. I mean: How the heck can i level up my chars - so i can beat the harder enemys- when 90% of all XP sources are nerfed or only killable WHEN you have a high level???
Thats frustrating...:pinched:

Hmmm... Have you tried using the almighty "cloak of Algernon!!™"? Or are the enemies even charm resistant now?

Will have to check this BIG world thingy. Seems like interesting to try.

Hmm.. never used that thingie. How do i get it? Kill, steal or quest?

And lol! I managed to kill  improved Bassilius with my 2 Lvl 1/1/1 characters
I used Skelli's stealth tactics. By this my F/M/T attacked him(no Sneak, bc. he uses 2h Sword:blush:)
THEN he initialized dialog. But some bug occurred and the Skeletons didnt die, but after one attacked they stopped at all, lol! When he started conjuring 2 Dire Bears i didnt need to run to him, bc. of stealth, and had 2 hits to make him miscast. Whichwhile my F/M/C came over and attacked when he cast; when he attacked, he always attacked her(she has no familiar=less HP) so i let her step back, he turns around to mainchar etc. etc.

Now i went over to Elminster. That "glitch" is still working. lol! my Cat is beating mighty Elminster to crap!
After this i should have some levels for the other enemys :D

Update: Well my Cat got Elminster(old Man at the Crossroad) killed after 30 mimutes.
The overall hit-chance isnt normal. The rating was not 1-in-20-hits critical, but 1-in-40/50-hits !

And the XP was a measly 13000 and a normal Quarterstaff, duh! :-/

Only 13K? Ah well, it's still something at least.

Algernon's Cloak can be part of a quest, but it's far too powerful to give it away for some XP (and the quest can only be completed once you get in Baldur's Gate). Algernon himself is the fat guy in one of the rooms of Feldpost Inn in Beregost. You can either pickpocket him to get the cloak or kill him for some super Rep loss. So what is the cloak? It's basically a nymph cloak or whatever, which raises your charisma and can charm just about anything. The charm is very strong, it lasts some 8 hours in-game and the cloak itself has 60000+ charges!!! You can basically charm anything human or animal with it. It's by far the most overpowered item in Baldur's Gate.

Ahhh that thing! Completely forgot it ^^

Hmm ill try to steal it with my Cat *g

Btw: The Mod Compilation changes many enemies to be more D&D true.

So i encountered Vamoiric Wolves(2). And i was frustrated why they didnt die; one char got paralyzed/stunned, but theother didnt do damage; until i realized they heal themself when stunning/damaging me, lol! Have to wait till later.

But some changes are neat: Bassilus gives you a nice Warhammer+2, and in the Xvart-village i found after the genocide a Gauntlet that gives +1 Attack per round.

The gauntlets weren't present before, but the hammer was. Still, the gauntlets look much more nasty than any other kind in the game, in fact, even nastier than those in BG2. Attacks per round mean a lot in the game. So many people would prefer dual wield weapons like Belm, Kundane or Scarlet Ninja to which give 1 APR, even though their enchantment is low.

Let us people know if there is anything else interesting on the list :D

Okok^^

But they also nerfed stuff: You wont find the Ankheg plate like Skellie.

There will be a cloak of Hiding, that conceals you 75%(i think it doesnt work).

+ many harder enemies like Bassilius etc. give only half their normal XP.

Lovely.

I like the quality of your vids. In full screen it just looks like I'd be looking someone playing the game on multiplayer.

I'm so going to have to play BG1&2 in the near future after watching some of these. I was planning on waiting until summer, but this is instilling too much nostalgia, darnit.

I'm surprised you went with katanas. They aren't very good backstabbing weapons compared to shortswords, daggers, or one specific longsword late in the game. Too few good ones. Still, there's something to be said for going ninja on everyone. ;)

Aliyah is acting less evil too. She totally could've backtracked and killed Jaheira through her cage. Not that I would advocate killing Jaheira. I liked her. Really. B)

True enough. I'm sure Aliyah will be loaded down with extra proficiency points soon. Eh, don't get me wrong though. Using the weapons you enjoy is best. That was just the powergamer part of me showing. :pinched:
