If you read your title, you did not say that 'In MY opinion, it's a masterpiece with EC', you said 'it IS a masterpiecde with EC'

If you don't want us to debate your statement then dony present your opinion as fact. I have no issue with you saying you thought it was a masterpiece, but I do have an issue with you saying it is 100% a masterpiece and if we don't see it we're 'wrong'

It's a bit childish, really

I want you to debate and I change my title but to call me a silly fanboy... just because I really like a game

Obviously, no need to restate the obvious by trying to validate your crappy taste in mediocre games.

If you look up you'll see that I wasn't the one who called you a fanboy. I have no issue if you like it, just don't say it's fact that it is a masterpiece because you like it

None of the ME games are masterpieces. Even if ME3 had been the best ending in history, it would still be crap b/c of the overall plot.

Yup, I'm sure there are plenty, the majority of whom are probably playing the game or have moved on to other things now that the ending is complete (as in, how it's going to stay). When the EC landed lots of people said they enjoyed it.

Then again I'm one of these freaks who actually didn't mind the original endings. I'd go so far to say that the original ones created a very different, and arguably more powerful feeling than the EC. I do enjoy what they did with them though.

It's good to see some positive thinking around here. Especially considering all the hating and crying that is going on in the forums. In my opinion, ME3 wasn't a masterpiece, but I really enjoyed it. The original ending hurt at first, but with EC it turned out pretty well.

 So who's with me ??
I didn't like the endings but with the ec I'm happy
the other 95% of the game were epic

Edit: It's just a masterpiece because of Me 1 and Me 2 the characters we met, the conflicts(genophage etc.)
It is a wonderful conclusion, so nobody'S with me??

No.

Witcher 2 is a masterpiece.
Mass Effect 1&2 are masterpieces.

Mass Effect 3 is good, but a watered down version with better presentation, and a terrible ending, even with the EC.
Its not even close to being a masterpiece.

Plus the lack of replay value due to some big past choices not really making a difference(rachni, collector base ect).

Ah, another one of these threads.

And to answer your topic, no ME3 isn't a masterpiece.

It's an okay game, not great, not fantastic. If anything it is mediocre.

Yea the ONLY ONE of these threads surrounded by those threads (forums is playing 1000 ways to dislike mass effect).

I'll stand by the OP
My initial run of mass effect 3 was breathtaking and amazing until the endings. EC makes the endings much better. I'm happy to consider ME3 a masterpiece. Mass effect series as a whole is a masterpiece. I'm sad to see it go

Masterpiece is a very strong word that I have reserved only for describing a few things in life such as Bruce Springsteen's album 'Born to Run'. That being said; the game is great with moments of absolute brilliance. These moments of brilliance exist throughout the game and throughout the ending. The collective Mass Effect series is something I would consider a masterpiece but I believe ME3, as a stand alone game, is just underneath that classification. An absolutely fantastic game by itself but only a masterpiece when combined with the ME1 and ME2.

Including you, John_shepard; I counted 3 people in this thread who share your perspective. I would like to add myself as the fourth.

Sometimes you need overly strong words (masterpiece) to counter the overly negative words (turd) floating about.

I'd say it has some masterful moments, relatively speaking of course, since we're talking about games. Mordin, Tali finding home, Grunts almost last stand, all the shoutouts from previous games, it was a unique experience for me, and one of my favourites.

Although i'm not 100% happy about Mass Effect 3 as i was about the first and second, i am with you.

If anything, threads like yours rekindle some positivity in this forum of insipid nitpickers.

Yes, because blind praise is so much better. <_<
Also, science fiction is a nitpicky genre. Deal with it.

Blind praise feels refreshing if nothing else. Forums got better when EC released, then delved even lower than ever.

I'm in full agreement, OP.
Just watch what you say, if your opinion differs from the BioHaters you will  be flamed.
People here are so stricken with butthurt and rage that they can't seem to look at a disenting opinion and think "to each their own."

Glad you enjoyed the game as much as I did, though.

a masterpiece ? with horrible antagonists (kai leng, stupid TIM, mute harbinger), EMS not mattering much ? Thessia's terrible boss fight ? hyper linear gameplay and corridors ? being forcd to bargain with a genocidal kid ?

Fallout 1 is a mastepiece, the baldur's gate serie also is. Mass effect 3 doesn't do anything well enoug to deserve such a title, at last I don't see how

There was a great thread way back when that listed every single "problem" with the game and admitted that if the endings were good none of it would have mattered. Most people agreed

Mass effect 3 in comparison is like a half finished sketch that someone else took the credit for, then blew their nose on it.

The EC wipes most of the snot off, but it's still stained with mucous, and it's never going to get finished.

You sir, explained it very well

I wouldn't go as far as to this game is a master piece, I mean in my opinion its not the best entry in the trilogy.
