Heck no. All the EC did for me was show me that the universe isn't trashed, Walter's wasteland got retconned. The sequel might be a masterpiece, provided they stay dafuq away from the catalyst. ME3 as a whole sure as hell isn't a masterpiece. If you want to call Tuchanka & Rannoch masterpieces I'm with you.

Planscape: Torment was a masterpiece. Mass Effect 3 is the equivalent of the Mass Effect series ending with a wet fart.

I think it has too many serious flaws to be considered a masterpiece, but it still one of my personal favorite games of all time

Whether they'll admit it or not....I have a feeling a lot of people wouldn't hate the Catalyst, if only it never appeared as that stupid kid.....


And if you say "NO, but his logic is...." just stop right there. Because its logic is presented the way it is 'intentionally'. And if you still think it makes no sense, then you're either not true long-time Sci Fi fan(considering this type of ending is a classic staple within the genre, and had been used before)....or you just didn't get it (yeah, I went there)


Another funny thing I've noticed.....people are quick to cry the word "PLOTHOLE!" whenever something is left up for interpretation......as I said, its Sci Fi....there is not one single sci fi story that doesn't leave something up to interpretation, or doesn't include some sort of unexplainable Space "Magic"(for lack of.a better term).....

Get over yourselves.....there's not another game that has been released in the first half of 2012, that is on the same level of quality that ME3 is....

I don't necessarily think it'll get game of the year when its all said and done.....but I wouldnt be the least bit surprised if it did.....considering it has had absolutely No competition in the last 6 months

note that even with the old ending video, all those major points are intact, so no. The ending is terrible. Its incomplete.

Witcher 2 is a masterpiece.
Mass Effect 1&2 are masterpieces.

Mass Effect 3 is good, but a watered down version with better presentation, and a terrible ending, even with the EC.
Its not even close to being a masterpiece.

Witcher 2 and Mass Effect 1 are masterpieces. ME2 is great, but it was the first step in the wrong direction.
ME3 is mediocre.
