Concerning MP bans

Hi, I'm one of the 1300+ people banned few hours after the Earth DLC download.

Before anything, I had 2.9/3.0 million credits when Earth DLC came out, not thousands of millions as others declare.

Sorry for any conjugation errors but English isn't my native language :D

¤  After spending my credits, taking a glimpse of the new features, I got banhammer'd. For what? I really don't             know.

I've been playing ME3 all this week farming credits and saving them for the DLC. Perhaps I've joined a match where someone was hacking or whatever (didn't see nothing suspicious apart from a Geth IIRC constantly dying and respawning at the landing zone in FBW)but since I've been banned I think that the reason is credit glitching or something like that, because I don't cheat (especially in a Co-Op game)

I never look at my credit pool, I've been saving them since I've unlocked the Phoenix Vanguard, except for some PSP from time to time and some Reinforcement packs to refill medigels.

When Earth came out I went shopping-spree like everyone.

Now let's be honest. Even if you notice that your credits are changed, you can't possibly refuse to buy packs just because some idiot edited his .ini file and the whole team got hundreds of million credits in one match, not with a DLC baiting you. The best thing to do was reporting the issue, but the last one that did that got banned.

That said, I didn't do it on purpose. I thought I had those credits all along. Not to mention hardcore cheating like aimbot and stuff because everyone that has played with me knows that I don't cheat. For what it's worth, I apologize for "cheating", whatever I've done.

¤   Now, moving on to the heart of the topic, two things baffled me since I got banned.
  • Proof

There is none. I don't know why I've been banned and can't discuss any details with nobody. I've just recieved a mail from an EA bot that said "ohlolyou'rescrewed, contact Bioware". I've tried mailing mr. Tse to no avail.

  • Confusion

I've contacted EA support and they told me that PC users can buy another code for an online pass (I.e. just like Xbox360 and PS3 users) without buying the whole game. I've tried to make him post a link of some sort to this service but ultimately he couldn't give me a straight answer.

If someone can give me a simple answer please do.

¤   Moving on.

Why I think banning users is pointless and counter-productive.

Because they have actually paid for a full game, not for an half. The user doesn't deserve such an harsh punishment (really? perma-ban?) for being a jerk or in my case an effin' victim.

That's why I'm asking mr. Abrams (I take that you're the leader of the ban section) to rethink his actions. A permanent ban is like a death sentence to a player, especially for a fan like me and others.

But, I have an ideal solution to this. One that gives fair warnings and fair punishments. I call it  the "Sheldon's three strikes" method.

Strike 1: You got caught cheating, your profile is completely erased (deletion of all possessions and unlocks)

Strike 2: Profile Erase & Temporary Ban (three weeks are enough)

Strike 3: Permanent Ban, has to buy another license (or another ME3 copy)

tl,dr: Read the whole damn thing, it's important.

Whenever these happen yes there is a pretty large influx of emails that happen. Wave went out yesterday meaning most people would have emailed last night creating a very large backlog. We do not discuss individual cases in public.

We do also look at some peoples multiplayer manifests and if they have ever weapon ultra-rare at 10, including ones we released a day ago we will typically investigate that account. Not saying that is what is happening here but when this happens it is very obvious to all to see.

But I'm hoping you don't go on that indication alone, are you? Had it not been for the Particle Rifle released last week, I'd have had the Typhoon at X already, as I saved up almost 7mil credits before Earth DLC hit and got 13 UR out of my 67 PSP - meaning without the PR I'd have the Typhoon maxed in a matter of an hour by spending the legitimately earned credits.

I'm sure they just look and see if the credits were optained legitimately. People think turning off feedback hides credit glitching from BW....but it doesn't.

Indeed we investigate, not just ban on the spot

Redjonh had over 20 million or something before revelion, so I guess he cheated?

Some people play too much and save all their creds for the dlc, hardly illegal, and again quite a few people maxed the harrier a couple of days after its release.

Bryan I think investigation based on UR maxed is all cool and good, but isn't exactly the best way to do it.

Also if I am saving creds and I have over 2m of course I won't pay attention to the creds I have unless someone reminds me of the whole credits cheats issue.

That is by no means our only method of detecting, I just said it is another thing that we do. I am not going to discuss all the means we have.

Yes I am aware someone like Redjonh woudl have said a lot of credits, is he banned, nope. The two people in this thread have now said in some way or another that they had either used modified files, or were in a game with people that have had modified files. We do not discuss individual cases on the forum for all to see, so people get to hear one side of the story.
