I have found out that the EU court has ruled the we own digital products once we have paid for them, rather than paying for a service, we actually own the licence (so we could go ahead and sell them if we wanted to!).

Anyway, what this means is that BioWare have in effect stolen our online pass, the ones we paid for.

Check out PCGamer, Issue 243, page 8.
and here;
http://www.gameinfor...spx?PageIndex=2

Now by my reconing, BioWare, you are in breach of European Laws.
Why?
The product that i own, the one i bought from you, is incomplete.
You might be based in Canada or the US, but you trade in the EU.

My "registered game content " clearly states that I have one "Online Pass (N7 Collector's Edition)" registered to my account.

Please give it back.

That link you posted only shows that "publishers cannot prevent you from selling your licenses for digital content".  You are still able to sell your online pass (you still have it, it's yours), but the unfortunate thing is that it was rendered invalid once you broke the Terms of Service.

This has more to do with the ToS than the EULA.  You are still able to play the singlelpayer game, but when you modded/glitched/cheated, you broke the ToS and that made your pass useless.

I dint brake the terms of service, thats what this whole thing is about!
I didnt cheat, hack, mod or glitch.

What that link shows is that the product i bought is mine.
BioWare have effectively broken it, rendering the product incomplete.

What you linked only states that you have right to sell the license. Nothing else. It does not discuss the validity of the said license.

Your missing my point.

I paid for this game, so should own 100% of it, not the 50% they have left me with.

That however is not relevant to the matters discussed in the article you linked to this thread.

The linked article states that i can sell the product if i choose as i own it.
Therefor the product i bought as advertised is legally mine.
Not leased or partial.  But the whole complete product.

By removing my online pass my game has been altered and no longr meets the orignal prduct specifications.

They are denying me access to something that is mine.

THEY have violated the terms of our original agreement.
They've taken my money and chopped the product that was sold to me in half.

My only option is to go buy another copy.
And they have the cheek to accuse me of 'exploitation'. HA!

You dont beleive me, i get it. Why would you.
If the shoe was on the other foot, I would think you were a lying git too.
As long as your ok, to hell with the other guy, right?

But i assure you, for what its worth you have my word, I did not cheat, glitch, hack or otherwise exploit this or anyother multiplayer game.

Still not the same, the linked article only discusses the cases where certain agreement (TOS/EULA) separately prevents something from being sold further. In this case you are technically allowed to sell it. The fact that BW has banned/block the Online pass - an act which makes the said online content pretty much worthless - is not relevant. In other words there is nothing in the article that would actually support you in this one; it's pretty much like you would be comparing apples with oranges.

And do note that i haven't said anything of my opinion on your truthfulness - it simply is not my place to take a stance on the issue.

@ Wanderer

Are you a mod or something, is that why it's not your place to take a stance on the issue?

Either way, I think you're taking us off track of what this thread is really about, especially if you're not going to comment (for whatever reason) on this thread as a whole.

Interesting!  and a very good point!
why didnt i think of this before?!

Your one of them arnt you?
What better way to press the issue and defend bioware than to pretend to be oneof us!

Anyway, lets just say your right and my article is wrong, then how about this?

Who has got an N7 collectors edition and wants to sell it to me?
In return i'll sell you my copy, thus swaping our licences and both obtaining new online passes.
anyone up for that little trade?

It's legal and all above board.

Hmmm, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think that the terms "license" and "online pass" are interchangeable in this situation.  You wouldn't be able to obtain a new online pass just by trading games with someone, at least I don't think so.  If anything, you trade games/passes with someone and then that someone now has an invalid online pass.  Another thing... once an online pass is used with Origin (on PC), that pass is perma linked to that Origin account.  So, you may have some grounds for a fight there, but it would be with EA and not Bioware.

If you are banned, rightly or not, you should be able to just buy a new online pass (like $10 or something) and be able to reconnect.  Granted, you would have a clean account (meaning N7 1 with starter weapons/gear), but at least you could play again.

Wish Bio Ware would of done that, They not as smart as you think and have come up with such a crap way of doing it by sharing both you single and multiplayers keys, which is totally daft.

Buying a new key does work, apparently. I have friends whove had to do it.
But how do i get one for the PC?
You can buy them for consoles, but i cant find a PC anywhere.

I dont care if it resets my stats.  As you said at least I'll be able to play the game that I bought.

Finally, why should i have to pay again when i was wrongly banned?
It's exploitation at its finest, only we are the ones being exploited by multiplayer!

nice find.

interestingly it says "There is no Online Pass for the PC."

I dont think this is true, as I have one listed on my registered content, and the game tells me i need one AND i found a seller on ebay. so whats this info all about?

I wouldn't buy it if I were you. Either BioWare/EA fixes this, or they lose a customer for life. Simple.

Or happen to someone else. I would definitely take Manimal's advice. And btw they will lose more than 1 customer if they continue to refuse to acknowledge this thread, I promise.

Two of my friends bought ME3 the same day I did, release day, one of them even bought the N7 Collector's Edition like I did. One of them was banned for being in too many games with a cheater...he couldn't cheat if he wanted to (he's just not that smart, sorry). He's given up already. I'm not far behind him.

The problem is mate, they've banned the wrong people.
if they would take a little more time and effort looking into this, they'd see we're right.

Sure, there are cheaters out there that need to be banned, and i would personally shop them if i could be arsed.
But we honest to christ didnt do anyting wrong(not that we know of anyway).

I guess our orange jump suits are in the post...?
(incase you missed the refrence, i'm likening this to Guantanamo Bay.  Banned with out trial or proof, and only on suspicion.

If they feel they have us banged to rights, then theres no harm in telling us, is there?

@ OP

I'm certain the Bioware staff will look carefully at your case and decide as optimally as they can. However unfortunate this may appear to many, the rules have been pretty explicit and no amount of assumption will exonerate those who truly cheat.

Maybe Bioware will rescind your ban, maybe not... but more importantly to the rest of the community, let this be a life lesson for all those who see nothing wrong with cheating.

For those who do not cheat and have the decency of playing a fair game then you certainly have nothing to fear and kudos to you for helping make this a healthier community.

Umm the last part, no. My friend got banned(who only plays like an hour or  2 a week) simply by entering a game, round 10 came, some jackass started rocket glitching, then asks people not to leave, he will rejoin shortly, friend leaves as he doesnt want to get banhammered. Next time he logs on during the same week, he had been banned.
He left!! the moment he noticed a hint of cheat, AND DID NOT PROFIT FROM IT! DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO IT!
and still, banned -.- I gues bw wants people to selfreport even when you dont contribute to cheating.

Mistakes happen? yes.
Should you need to wait for 2½-3½ weeks to get your account unbanned if it was without a proper reason? YES! if you dont, its a big smelly FU to your face as a customer.

I mean... what do they expect us to do apart from not benefiting or contributing to cheating if we see it, Self report every ****ing time? Why not self report yourself every single day, just to be on the safe side.

"Umm hi bioware, i was today in a cheater game so i left, did not want to contribute or profit from it, can i haz no ban hammer? Puppy eyes please"
Something along those lines should be done everyday basically to avoid bans xD when you see those ban wave numbers.

so having 140K million creds = cheating

having a SPM of 1200 + in (another EA game) = cheating

being better than others = cheating

accidentally being in a lobby fuill or just filled with 1 "cheater" = banning..

yeah the bans are laughable, I know so many people on my "friends" list that cheated yet they havent been banned. This isn't such a big MP compared to other titles, I say you guys should be really detailed into looking at who is and whos not.

they say they have "server logs" well if such person is banned they should be provided with the log they thought it was wrong doing.

Some of the people that get wronfully banned actually pay out MS points or BW points which helps keep our DLCs free....

please BW be more careful, or ask for volunteers with high reputation if it is that much work...just saying.
