Yeah ok banned, copy-paste answer to all those who've been banned.

Now, moving on. X360 and PS3 players can buy the pass for 10 bucks, we PC players can't. Reason?

The thing that worries me about cheating in ME3 is that someone else can do it, and you can be 'guilty' simply by proximity and having not noticed the problem.

Some things, like if someone spams 50 missiles, you'll notice easily and you can exit the match. (Well, presumably - I guess if you get dropped in during a late wave, having not seen the cheating that happened earlier but which then stopped, you could get unlucky.) Other things are tough to disentangle.

I know I'm often busy between matches, and sometimes distracted by outside life during matches. If my credit total for a few matches was something like a tenth more than it should have been, I might well not notice. If that happens a few time, it's certainly possible to just get plain unlucky and get banned. Being with an in-game cheater and not noticing seems fairly plausible to me, if they're being at least a little bit subtle about it.

At the very least, a clear warning system should be implemented letting players know they've been flagged, and for what sort of problem. And the game problems that are most egregious should be getting addressed by title updates, rather than being handled by bans.

Here's a thought... maybe next time (assuming you get a next time) instead of modding and cheating and getting caught and banned, then whining about why you got banned, you simply skip all those middle steps by deciding NOT to cheat.

Really, it's that simple. Don't cheat, don't get banned. Ta-da!

No, but you certainly don't have any issue with reaping the rewards of people who do.

OP uses proper english, a professional approach, and seems to make logical arguments.
Either OP has cheated and still keeps a straight face on, or OP didn't cheat.
Going with the latter based on the discussion. Hope it gets fixed for you assuming you didn't not cheat, OP.

The part that does not wash for me is the "I didn't know or kept track of how many credits i had." I would assume that someone else hacked the game and you ended up with a pile of undeserved credits. The moment you spent those credits rather than reporting the problem you were taking advantage of the situation and thus the ban. That's what it sounds like to me.

Don´t see it that way, a bank error in my favor is my profit. I would assume the same reasoning for that situation. This is a game I play to relax, I´m not  BW employee, don´t see as my duty to keep track of my earnings and manifest.

Of course, this is BW game and they are free to judge as they see fit, wether I agree or not.

That is unacceptable, Ernest, I did not exploit multiplayer, therefore I should be unbanned.

Please advise,

Hello,

I have taken a look into your account and can confirm that you have been banned for exploiting multiplayer. Due to how our investigation process is handled, however, I cannot disclose any details. We take cheating very seriously and we have decided that this ban will be permanent.

I'm starting to think that "taking a look into your account" simply involves the guy seeing whether it's flagged as banned or not.

For me, I'm still waiting to get an e-mail back, but I suspect it'll be exactly the same as what others have received.

I stand corrected.

Nevertheless, I play this game for enjoyment, if I have to constantly check my earnings, my manifest, avoid glitchers like the plague otherwise I´m found guilty by association, the game become less enjoyable.
If I "earn" 70K from a gold match with missile glitchers how do I get rid of those ill gotten creds? I have to contact EA, enter the redtape and wahtnot (I suppose), report the cheaters, wait for a response. To me that´s too much of a hassle over virtual creds for virtual equipment.
I do not support cheating, nor do I hang around games that I know for sure there are cheaters, but with all those alleged wrongful bannings I am starting to get worried, and taking somewhat from the game.

The lack of communication they gave you is pretty terrible.
"We took away your house"
"Why has my house been taken away?"
"let me look into it."

"I cannot disclose any details" is garbage. I mean, ban cheaters, yes, but if someone gets banned they at least deserve to know why.

Just posting to take back what I said in the quote above. I finally received a reply from Ernest/Bioware stating that they found me to be innocent, and have unbanned my account. It would seem they do in fact verify the situation when the ban gets appealed.

Anyways, while the problem has been solved for me, I wish the best of luck to those still looking for a solution!

...don't forget that my first notice if being banned in the first place was when I attempted to play multiplayer, and couldn't connect.  I had to take time out of my day to call BioWare/EA, thinking that my game was broken, only to be told that I had been banned from multiplayer for multiplayer exploitation.  Keep in mind that I was on vacation when this "exploitation" occurred, 500 miles away from computer.  Still no answer as to how I exploited multiplayer or why I was banned.

If the rules produce punishment for the wrong people, they might not really be optimal. That's why patching the exploitable glitches and other cheats is so important. To reduce dependency on rules that have to be created down-stream of the probem and could result in punishing the wrong people.

I have seen very few people, with what appears to be a ligitimant arguement for wrongly getting banned, coming to the boards and complaining. Just because there are ways to rob a bank, doesn't mean it is ok to rob the bank. Just because my car can go over 140, doesn't mean when I get caught speeding it is the car manufacturers fault for making the car with a speeding cabability. Do I speed....sometimes......who's fault is it if I get caught....mine.

Just because you are in the bank at the time it is robbed by someone else doesn't mean that you're guilty.  Just because you are driving your car at the speed limit in close proximity to someone who is clearly not doesn't mean that you're guilty.

This isn't hard.  Habitual glitchers should be banned.  Everyone else shouldn't.  I don't have the time to babysit everyone else's style of play just to make sure no one is missle glitching while I'm getting shot at in three different directions and I'm trying to get out of a banshee's range.

Edited to add:  If I noticed having a huge amount of credits that I clearly didn't earn, of course I'd contact Bioware.  That's obvious.
