The Romances are so great! Except..

My first playthrough, I decided to romance Morrigan. Partway through, I got bored of 2h Warrior, wanted to play a Mage, so I rerolled. Decided to romance Leliana. Before I could get her high enough, I found Flemeth's Grimoire. My Mage is a ladies man, so he asked for a kiss as a reward. Then Alistair asks me about her, I say there's nothing between us, he calls me a liar. I let Flemeth escape. Gave Morrigan her real Grimoire, bam, she asks me to sleep with her. Of course I did it.
Now Leliana is all "Morrigan is so lucky." I've literally had three discussions with Morrigan, but I've listened to everything Leliana has said, even her dumb stories and song no one asked her to sing.
I know it's too much to ask, hoping for the sophistication of real-life relationships, so I think that, given that we're talking about a video game here, the romances are really great. Just a little thing I noticed.
Also, how easy is Zevran? Geez, give him a couple of gifts, let him tell you you're handsome, and he's ready to jump in the sack.

I agree, but as you said.... It's a video game. The romances were unrealistic but then again so is carrying around 50 suits of armor.

Regarding romances, I usually start a playthrough with a "romance-plan", but somehow I always end up with Leliana...

I know (in Real life) people who are very hard to even get to talk to you, and others who go on parties and get drunk for the single reason to get laid by the first one who wants them. I dont think it´s too unrealistic that you have both kinds available here.

In any case, as long as games depend on scripting and variables, don't expect much better romances. You'll have to wait for them to become self-aware.

Well, the romances are very tricky to write and script; especially if there's more than one. A single romance can work just fine most of the time, but multiple not so much. Still, I think it was done quite well here. Just don't try to romance *everyone* you can, and you should be fine.
I thought part of the fun was to actually try to romance everyone you can, preferably at the same time. Party banter = gold. Don't do this on your first play through though.

Truth is always stranger than fiction. People who claim "Real people would never act that way." are not students of the actions of "Real" people at all.

At least you have some, straight or batting for the other team. That is more than most game.
You have the choice to be monogamous or have a bit of a linebacker love (IE if it move shag it and if it does not move shag it till it does)
Sure character like leliana or Alister could be less passive and have a few “O, I love you so much moments/ I am so happy to be with you etc
Yes some critism can be laid but to be fair it is not really meant to be realistic otherwise the list would not stop
On top of what has been already mentioned
fencing with two handed sword like that will get you utterly minced.
If you have done test cutting, you know that there is no coming back from a two handed sword strike.
You can not really go around hoopsy daisy I am burning or just got frozen. ha well no matter it will pass in few second and it does not hurt at all so I can continue what I was doing happy as larry.
You can not look like <favourite actress/singer/model> and wear armour and fence on a daily basis
For real fencing with a long sword/Zweihander, there is medieval fencing.
For real relationship there is real people, sometime it is even better than fiction: my wife even tells me that I look good in armour, and no it is not when the armlet is closed either.

I made both Alistair and Leliana fall in love with me and when Leliana confronted me about my relationships, I chose him over her (I was aiming to be Queeeeen). Later, Leliana asked me to tell her all about my relationship and sex life with Alistair like it's our first discussion about it. Isn't it nice to be forgetful...

No it's not. I carry around over 9000 suits of armor on a daily basis.

Try seeing things from Leliana's point of view. This guy shows her a lot of attention, which is nice, but then he jumps into bed with Morrigan. Do you think it would be more realistic if she thought "Ha! he still talks more to me than the one he sleeps with so he must think I'm hotter than her anyway?" I do not recommend you tried that approach on your RL relationships at least.

Well, you could TRY and see how it works out

I broke up with Leliana and this was the first conversation after
I just couldn't get over the eyelashes thing..
Would be a great thing to say if you were trying to get someone to break up with you though.
-GASP- THAT'S IT!
Leliana said that wanting you to leave her, knowing you'd think she was crazy. That's why she's so happy for you and whoever you leave her for!
Girls are so devious and tricksy.

I'm doing that right now. My mage has Alistair, Zevran, and Lelianna all at 'interested'. I wonder how that will play out. I do hope none of them leave/betray my PC when/if they find out, it would be too bad, she actually likes all three.

It's indeed hard to write when you have multiple options.

Well, writing is the easy part coding, recording, animating is quite something else.
Lelelian is besotted with you, regardless if you partner up with her or not.
So it is not out of character
And let’s face it, it is better that Amidala “Anakin you’re breaking my heart”
I know at the time she probably had her heart in her throat but still. It is the benchmark of lameness.
As well her call you char a two-timing bastard for the rest of the game, would wear thin after a while.
That being said having her leave the party for ever or a while would be good or may tak and arrow for you would have been a good twist.
I think what does not help is that in the game the notion of time and distance is blurred.
So you can have you swine you sleep with X, talk to an other char and then in the same camp session get the I hope you are happy with X.
That being said morigan asking you if leliana was worth her weight in peanuts in the sack is priceless.

What is this eyelashes thing with Lelianna?
The morning after you have bedded Leliana you wake up to find her sitting and watch you. She will then tell you something about the fact that your eyelashes flutter like butterflies when you dream and that she thinks your eyelashes are pretty and she wants capture them and keep them in a jar.
I took it all as whimsical folly and she was just so giddy she couldn't stop looking at you or something, and I thought it was really quite adorable. But from what I have read from other people's posts, some people found it kind of creepy that she had been sitting there watching you while you slept.

No, no - it was the INTENSITY to which she was watching you while you slept, the stalker mentality of wanting to remove parts of you to hold onto... that's what's creepy - and also, when you tell her she's being a little crazy, it totally doesn't phase her.
She is teasing you, you know... She does that a lot.

Considering she talks to the maker through dreams, I wouldn't put it past her.
