To answer number 4, yes the Shield does get replenished each time you redeploy it. I tested the shield extensively last night, and managed to tank a Ravager for 20 minutes by redeploying the shield each time it went red, or it broke. That wouldn't be possible if the shield didn't refresh itself.
Alrighty, thanks! Just need Fagnan for a bunch of more questions though. Where is he? Argh.

And Q9, I've set off tech bursts with arc 'nades and I'm sure both tech bursts & cryo explosions are tech combos since, you know, they result from combimed tech powers.
-If any of that helps.

I was wondering: if he is supposed to be strictly defensive, why is his health is the lowest in the game (at 700).
His health isn't that bad compared to a lot of other characters in the game (the humans especially). And his shields are above average compared to most humans. His Energy Drain when using the 6th power rank for 40% damage resistance for 10 seconds helps him tank better.

Having just unlocked my Paladin yesterday, I'd like some more information about the class in general. I found that the shield wasn't that useful and I was just running around doing snap freezes and incinerates.
Fully evolved, the shield is incredibly useful. You can set it down and stop almost any enemy in its tracks. Every enemy has its own sort of timing, and once you learn them you can set down the shield to draw their fire, then between their firing (or during, as your shields will recover once you put up the omni-shield again) launch a snap freeze or energy drain. You can indefinitely hold out like this (even on Gold) for as long as necessary, whether just to deal with bosses/large groups, protect teammates doing an objective/revive, or draw fire away from other areas.

Good questions by the OP. I hope you get your answers because the Paladin is one of the most interesting and flexible classes, but could actually use a buff on how the shield functions (either be able to move slowly around with it, or increase the size if immoblile) and a buff to his wimpy health.

still isn't answered
Indeed. Sort of disappointing.
Thanks to those of you who have posted replies and your findings to the thread. I hope Mr. Fagnan sees the thread at some point. I am going to add another question to this thread that I am sure a lot of people are wondering about:
Why didn't the Paladin get a Biotic Power?

1. Is it intentional that Geth Hunters and Ravagers can shoot through the Paladin's shield? Sometimes they can't but at other times they don't seem to care much about the shield and hit me anyway.
Im not sure where I read it but I believe Fagnan said that currently the hit box of the shield is slightly skewed so it is possible for them to hit you if you arent lined up correctly. I believe he later said that it should be tweaked in upcoming weeks.
2. Is there anyway to buff the amount of damage the shield can take? Such as using a Power Amplifier Consumable, or upgrading melee damage with a Strength Enhancer? Cyonan asks:
I would interested to know if the 40% damage reduction of Energy Drain gets extended to my shield or not.
I believe that someone found that the equipment like Shield Boosters and Stronghold Package did work to increase the omni shield strength. I believe that one of the better theory crafting players concluded that anything that increased the shield strenght increased the omni shield strenght just like the Shield Mastery Evolution effects both shield and omni shield.
As far as the Energy Drain 40% damage reduction I cant say yes or not (and havent heard anyone testing it) however someone pointed out that the 40% DR doesnt work unless you are hosting.
4. Does the shield regain full HP after it is redeployed? Regardless of it being broken, or taking some damage and being retracted?
Im not sure if it goes back to full or not but I have sat in silver matches with my shield down and waited for it to break and then cast snap freeze and put back the shield down and have it hold until my snap freeze came off cooldown. My guess is that it does go back to full but I cant say for sure. I have tried it with Banshee's warp but both times it hit my shield it broke the shield so I cant say what strenght it was at.

Also why put the shield on the right hand? He can't use his weapon with the shield if it's on his right.
This goes with the whole concept of the Shielding wielding Paladins who use it as a primary weapon and a form of protection.
Or he could be left handed oh wait...
