Don't wear gloves. The PC is the only one not wearing gloves, the PC is the only one that lives; therefore, wearing gloves when partaking in the joining will get you killed. Fate has nothing to do with it.

Much as I'd like to believe in your theory, it doesn't hold water. The last four characters I've had both Ser Jory and Daveth weren't wearing gloves. Actually, all they had on was underwear (Sir Jory had his sword, sheathed on his back) (I suppose Daveth's sword was sheathed as well, but in his loincloth)(I'm not really sure Ser Jory had a sword in his loincloth. Sure his wife is pregnant and all, but can we be certain that the baby is his?).

Of course it´s NOT his. He´s from Highever, right? So it´s obviously MINE, made while I played Human noble origin.

Wearing gloves restricts blood-flow, clogging up your veins with Darkspawn blood when it reaches your left-hand first, creating a mass of darkspawn taint, thus causing a catastrophic chain-reaction of darkspawn infestation through the rest of the body, heart failure, pulminary embolisms, loss of bowel control and acute dysfunctional carpal tunnel syndrome.
There. Explained by science.

There is no secret in the joining. Daveth was just alergic to darkspawn blood and he just didn't know it.
