Tricky, though it depends on what you mean by 'doesn't work'. There are quite a few threads for the loading data issue, and I'm unsure whether that has been resolved. You may want to check those threads to see if anyone has found a solution which may work for you.
I would eliminate the thought that ME3 doesn't work on the XBox Slims right off the bat. If that was true there would have been a public outcry that the product didn't work for a lot of people, and BioWare/EA would have had to address it ASAP (like they had to with the original version of patch 1.04 for Dragon Age: Origins on the 360 as it messed up Slims but not older consoles).
You essentially mention two problems: the first as I noted above, the other seems to concern the dlc. I can't see much more info in your posts to begin discerning the possible issues that may be in play there. You could try redownloading it onto your Slim, but beware that dlcs are tied to the console it was originally downloaded on. However, an internet connection and your Gamertag should, in theory, eliminate dlc usage problems.
Post back with more detail to see if anyone can aid you.

Yeah I take back the slim thing because last night it happened to my original Xbox too where it goes checking for downloadable content then connects to servers and goes back to checking downloadable content and I can't do anything in the main menu ( the part where the computer flips up) I can't move around to click multiplayer or new game it just says "Loading" and "Checking for downloadable content" and I can wait for over a hour and it stays the same way......

Found Solutions to bypass it
1. Disconnect from Xbox live and get on ME3 then reconnect
2. Go to first screen accept invite then press start
