the typhoon does have a major downside though. it does have a warm-up time, and for the first second, you barely do any damage at all. that might not sound dramatic, but anytime you get staggered, you have to warm it up again. same for leaving cover, dodging, running, etc.
so imagine this against the geth, where all but one enemy can stagger you.
if you get into CQC with that weapon, then you're screwed. you won't be able to damage a single enemy.
Phantoms have a habit of dancing around your typhoon fire making you waste all your ammo then they rush you.
I prefer Piranah for CQC
