As I said, the rannoch and tuchunka archs are not a true part of the main plot. the main plit is simply kill reapers.
ok, but you working with cerberus wasnt your choice, it was gonna happen wether you liked it or not, so its not really a reflection of YOUR choice, is it?

Fighting reapers in ME3?? You playing a different game??
I remember fighting Cerberus 2/3 of the game
my point is that while most people complain that ME3 wasnt about fighting reapers, look at ME2, the main enemies, Collectors, only show up in 3 missions, the majority of the game was fighting mercs in loyalty missions. Hypocritical to complain about ME3 doing this when ME2 did it even worse, as 9/10 of ME2 was fighting mercs.
because they weren't attacking the whole Galaxy and most of the Merc fights were when recuiting teammates, and those Merc side quest were alot better than those fetch quest in ME3
exactly my point. Half of what you did in ME2 (loyalty missions) literally half the game, had NOTHING TO do with the ME2 plot itself, and the ME2 plot had nothing to do with ME1 period.
ok and that was one of the two problems I had with ME2 but I still enjoyed it more than ME3 with the problems I had with that

No, but you can still be against cerberus whilst you are working for them.
yes, and you can still disagree and be a dick to the alliance while working with them.

you my friend, are letting your anger for the endings destory the rest of your ME3 gaming experience, which is not a good thing

um I'm not angry, I'm disappointed in the route Bioware took with ME3, either they were rushed or lazy

Yes, and none of that mattered in 3. As I was railroaded into licking hacketts balls every 5 minutes.
i agree with that to an extent, but you can still question him and be a dick (renegade) in a lot of the scenes. besides, would it make sense for you to work AGAINST the man who is working WITH you to sae the galaxy, and who is commanding what remains of earth's forces? would kind of destroy your chances at fighting the reapers.

Because I don't want to do things his way maybe. I'd rather invest in building ships and thanix cannons than relying on that stupid crucible

I would say the same thing, but I can't with the complete crap quest system/ journal, most of the side quests being fetch quests, the dialogue being cut to Paragon/Renegade dialogue no grey choices at all compared to ME1 and ME2. Thats why Bioware made ME3 a standalone game

lol but then you would have failed, is BW made it clear the reapers cant be defeated conventionally

In my opinion, it's a great fun to play because:
1) It is a middle part of series; you don't really need answers at that point. It's a purpose of the finale of series. And the game doesn't try to hide it, instead it focuses more on:
2) Exploring the universe and lore. There are many well-done side quests filled by a lot of characters who offer their unique opinions and thus serve as a gateway into ME world and make you more familiar with it.
3) Large locations. I'd recently replayed ME2 and you can spend a lot of times in one location. It's a complex place built by many sub-locations. You don't feel the boundaries of map too often. That increases an immersion.
4) classy one-liners. Seriously, it's full of them. I wanted to click on every answer just to hear them.
5) And full RPG dialogue system, of course.
Mass Effect 3 did many things very well but specifically due to lack of point 2, 3 and 5, it kind of missed the mass-effecty vibe. No. 3 was replaced by corridors (Thessia is a prime example), No. 2 by a quest-fetching and No. 5 by auto-dialogue.

as for the fetch missions, i have said before that it wouldnt make sense for shep to be off on 3 hour side missions that were ireelevant while the reapers face rape the galaxy, and you were fetching battle assets, granted these had no affect on the ending, but again i agree the endings sucked.
the journal is reall just a minor annoyance, isnt it? i didnt even realzie it through my first playthrough.
as for the grey options, were the really necessary, since they didnt affect the outcome of the convo and said pretty much the same thing as paragon?

They only made that poibt in 3. Everything else I have done suggests otherwise.
how? in ME2, you didnt kill a reaper, only an unfinished fetus of a reaper.
In me1, sovvy was only able to be killed because you killed Saren, who he possessed and brought back to life, which took most of Sovvy's energy and focus, which overloaded sovvys mind/battery/whatever and stunned him for a bit, and even then, it took the whole human fleet plus asari ships and Citadel defense forces to kill him, and he still wiped out half your forces plus some even after the geth were stopped. and he wsa just 1 reaper

But looking back on it now, it was a complete waste of time, the whole game is pretty much recruiting a squad of players who in Mass Effect 3 are completely worthless.

And in 2 it was more about surving the suicide mission agaibst the odds.
Everything shep does is against the odds.

that annoyed me because that is basic RPG, and screwing that up says alot about Bioware
and yes Grey choices do matter based off of the player

yes but ME2 again, no reapers. if even 1 reaper had been at the collector base, you would have lost.
ANd in ME1, you only killed sovvy because you killed saren, otherwise, sovy would have won. yes it was against the odds, but it was against 1 reaper. there are million, billions, however many in the entire reaper force, how can you defeat them without a superweapon? you cant, he beat the odds by bringing everyone together and using the crucible
AND ME3 was against the odds, cuz every cycle before shep has failed, and there was no way conceivable to beat the reapers. They make it clear through all 3 games that thy cant be beat conventionally. without the crucible, they were gonna lose, which is clear throughout the game. which is why they put all their efforts towards building it and defending it.
