How do I make Read Only files editable?

It's so annoying, I downloaded social.bioware.com/project/1331/ so I wouldn't have to make all my head morphs from scratch for campaign characters and companions, but then whenever I try to edit or change any part of them, I can't, because they're read only files. Is there anywhere in particular that I should have placed these files, because I just can't figure out what to do.

Just select all the files in WIndows explorer, right-click -> Properties -> uncheck Read-Only.

You need to check out the files; right click on the file and select the option to check them out of the database.

Actually, art resources are not stored in the database. The .lvl and .mrh files that Bryan released are set as read-only by default. Unsetting that property in Windows Explorer is enough.

Yes, I simply unchecked it in Explorer. Works like a charm.
