The age of blandness

Bland combat, bland cliched ridden
enemies, bland environments but enough moments of sporadic genius to
keep one playing.
Bioware can spin a yarn thanks to
interesting party characters (no matter the plot cliches and boy did
this main plot suck the big one) but as usual seems to have horrible
aesthetics when it comes to World design, Graphics are awesome but
the design is pooptastic.
The main human city and towns looked
like a bucket of poo brown slop, the Dwarvern city was a poor mans
Iron Forge, the Elven forrest was ghastly and so on and on.
Digging the photo realism schematics is
all well and dandy but do we have be in a fantasy World that is so
wretchedly bland? I felt like I was swimming in a sea of budget brand
cereal.
Oh and artifically expanding the play
time with excessive trash mobs.... gee thanks, I really want to kill
the same Orcs over and over..... oh not Orcs....Darkspawn (lol's
imo).
Then again I got my moneys worth, I
finished it, it provided occasional good times, just not up to the
usual Bioware standard.
So do a better job for Dragon Age 2! yeah I'll buy it....

Why would I play Oblivion? are you arguing if one game I deem is bland than I should play an even worse game?
Oh, your post seemed to indicate your thout DAO was bland...compared to what?
it would kinda be like me saying your post is just another monotone, boring, bland attempt at putting down a game ld say most who bought it truly enjoy, compared too.......
Instead of just pasting a nameless attack, why not actually list some games or features you think would be more exciting...too you at least.

But if I was a game reviewer sitting softly on a lofty high perch and the masses demanded a score out of 10 it would be an appropriate 7/10.

You seem terribly butt hurt over the truth that this game isn't our lord and savior Jesus Christ (or Richard Dawkins).
Jebus, negative feedback that is honest should be welcomed.
Okay if we must play the angry "WELL NAME A BETTER BLEEDING GAME MATE!" routine, in no order I present:
1. Mass Effect
2. Baldurs Gate
3. Balduers Gate 2
4. Planescape Torment
5. Diablo (I threw that one in there to make you throth at the mouth
)
As for my posts being bland....they seemed to have captured your attention.

Your first post mentioned a few things;
-Trash Mobs[what game of any decent length does not recyle mobs...especially one where your involved in a War]
-Bland locales or copies of others.....how many games of any decent length can stand fresh?[And with DLC incomming, that should change]
Oh, and all the games you mention lve played[except Mass Effect till it comes to ps3 anyway], enjoyed...and included trash mobs and most of the other "bland" concepts you mention.
Honestly, any game of any decent length will have its "bland points"
But if all the other points outweigh it[as your score of 7/10 seems to indicate]..then whats the problem?
If you'd given it a 3/10 as the other poster, then ld say your title and post would match it.
Maybe you just wanted more...like anyone else actually.
Human nature...same as putting down anything and everything.
As to being terrible "butt hurt"...lve got a wife, 3 kids, the joy of xmas shopping and the bills that come with it ..your not even in the ballpark-_-

The game is at best average to decent, a 7/10 is an average in my well trained brain.
So I can live with an average game.... but let's hope the sequel picks up the pace and has a plot that is beyond "zomg evil is coming out of the woods and it's being led by....A DRAGON!"
Yeah.... awe inspiring.

Well you are taking the time out to go "RRRRRRAHWHWWHWHWHW!" at my opinion, I reckon you are the type of chap to leave his wive and kids drowning in a river to get the last word in on TEH internets, prove me wrong.

Wow. Just wow. You think he would let his wife and kids drown just because he disagreed with you? Newsflash buddy, your not god. Deal with it.

Hmmm, no order again.
1. Shorter dungeon crawls (Dwarf zone is unenjoyable)
2. Less silly hats
3. Better main antagonist with a decent reason to go "ZOMG I'M GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD MAHAHAHA!"
4. No more Darkspawn....they are just Orcs killing and ravaging the land pointlessly
5. Less piles of junk loot and more loot that feels like an epic reward for a large quest line
6. No elves, no Dwarfs, no more generic fantasy tosh - how about some original races?
7. More leather / Medium / cloth armour designs
8. Allow the Dog to be a forth party member
9. I've got to go the gym
10. I'll be back later to argue on the nets.
*final note yes I did buy a game called Dragon Age, yes I knew there would be silly Dragons in it but I was still hoping there would be a decent villian not a mindless uber Dragon.

Graphics have never been Bioware's strong suit, though. Characters, voice-acting, and gameplay are the main draws for me. If Bioware manages to up the ante graphics wise for DA:O2, then I'd be one happy camper.
