Now it ran great on my old computer but now every say 30-60 min the game crashes and I have to restart the game. It is a minor nusence but I would like to fix it some way. Do you have any ideas? There's no sure fix for integrated graphics, even if it's a brand new laptop with a Sandy Bridge chip in it. Dedicated graphics is your best fix ;)

Please understand that only a desktop PC (of machines produced in the last 3-4 years) allows graphics card upgrades; laptops without discrete graphics are a dead end, disposable (obsolete when produced).  If you have an actual game-capable desktop, the question becomes why don't you already have a real graphics card?  Chances are very good, that no matter whether it is a desktop or a laptop, more will be needed than just opening it up and popping in a real graphics card from a real graphics company.

You may need a replacement power supply and supplemental cooling hardware as well.

I see. The game runs quite well. Maxed out graphics and no lag on my laptop. It does heat up but I put it on a cooling pad and that takes care of that. Really the only problem I have with the game is a crash after about an hour or so of game-play. I noticed that it tends to happen when the game is loading when I am walking somewhere. Does anyone know how to fix that?

It really is as simple as the inadequate capabilities of your laptop. In your case, I would say if you don't want to use a system with dedicated graphics, then don't walk around while the game is loading. That's not being snarky, it's just straightforward.

The newer Intel chips with integrated graphics do have a limited amount of user control as far as their turbo boost system goes. You could go into the Intel control settings to play with that. But something you can't control is that it has a built in fail-safe heat sensor. Even if you have all the cooling add-ons, it still going to get hot in there, and it will cause applications to crash.

Even though ME1 might be considered an older game by now, it's still a resource hog, both graphically and CPU-wise. If you haven't tried already, making sure there are no other applications running while you play the game might help you out.
