I dunno how bad your luck is to not get even one Mattock but a level 7 Revenant. Either way, the Mattock even before yesterday's buff was more than gold viable, you just needed to not mind getting a sore finger. The Revenant is very much viable on gold. I've scored well with it on gold with a bloody Justicar, nevermind on someone like a Turian, Geth or the Destroyer. The Saber is an assault rifle, whether or not it behaves like one in real life is kind of irrelevant. The Typhoon and Revenant aren't ARs either.

ALso, you don't really need headshots on the Saber. It just works stupidly well with that.

Hmm, i tried with it and it doesn't work well. Maybe because i expect a gun to kill mobs at least as fast as they kills you, but still, you need too much time out of cover, and too much time hitting enemies.

This thread is akin to one asking for Sniper Rifles to be nerfed because the Infiltrator is too good with them (not talking about the rocket-launcher masquerading as a SR).

Soldiers make this gun do work, but who uses it on another class? And even when it's on a Soldier, it requires a steady stream of fire to kill things. As others have said, try keeping that stream of fire up when three Primes are on the battlefield or a Gold-level Brute is coming at you. let us know how that works out. More likely, you'll be firing in bursts like every other auto because you simply can't stand out of cover for that long.

It's powerful, but because it's a niche weapon, it's certainly not OP.

Watched a destroyer melt an atlas with this gun. It was down to low shields and before i got my throw off after my dark channel, it died (gold).

Ok, you want objective debate? Then show some skills first. I don't think we can debate with bronze, or even silver player about guns beings overpowered. It's like you want a serious debate about use of something between someone who was studying at MiT and someone who wasn't studying at all, or went to some weak job-oriented school.

If I didnt't get anymore gun updates after I maxed the Mattock, I would still be using it today. Love it and I feel its very underarted. AP mod/Ext Barrel = Greatness - Fast firing trigger finger was never a problem. Low recoil almost always ensured headshots.

The Saber X - biggest knocks are slow ROF and Weight - Since I use all the classes there are three hand cannons that outperform it. Paladin X , Talon X and even the Scorpion X. Yep the Scorpion X is really worth using. It's an abomination at any other level.

Getting back to the AR's though and the original poster saying the Typhoon is overpowered. Its a shame that there are stellar powered Pistols, Shotguns and Sniper Rifles yet a slew of AR's (considering weight effect on cool downs) are less comperable. The Typhoon and the Harrier are sorely needed in that class. 

Ohh and I just saw the ballance changes- the Mattock got a Buff - amazing! All is good :happy:

For classes with weaker shields, the Cerby Harrier is better anyway. The Typhoon is fine.

Actually, it leaves you exposed and can be considered a burden. You are sacrificing the ability to protect yourself so you can unleash massive damage. It's an eye for an eye. If they cut the weapon's performance it will be utterly useless.

Maybe it was me, so i will tell you, how you do that. You will get my build from my sig (first ability, his armor needs to be full buttom, all offensive, first passive ability needs to be 4a, weapon damage, 5b, headshots, 6b, weapon damage) and you will equip Armor-Piercing Rounds III, Stabilization Module III, and Assault Rifle Rail Amp III. Then it will happen fast, yes, but you will still need about 2 hundred shoots, it's one and half clip from what i remember.

By the OP's definition, the Viper would be OP.

Yes, its AWESOME!
And no I don't buy the whole 'we need balanced weapons' argument.  The only balance I support is balancing awesome guns with Acolytes.

Now quit your whining and start using the acolyte.  When your done videoing your solo extraction on Platinum with your Acolyte I'll listen to your OP complaints.

Obviously the ULTRARARE that you get every 20 or so PSPs is just too powerful. Better make it like the geth pulse rifle because ALL the assault rifles are OVERPOWERED.
Please, just shut the hell up, some people haven't even got it and enjoyed it yet.

Hmm, i tried with it and it doesn't work well. Maybe because i expect a gun to kill mobs at least as fast as they kills you, but still, you need too much time out of cover, and too much time hitting enemies.

That's why you use it on a beefy class. The Destroyer can make the Revenant sing. The Justicar can get up to 80% DR. Slap on a level 3 stability consumable and you're fine with it. If you don't have that, just use a stability mod with either the barrel or AP mod. Best used from cover for more DR and no staggering. Pick a spot, set up your bubble, Reave away and shoot between Reaves. You can get a 175% cooldown with it on the Justicar, which is damn good if you consider your lugging around a machine gun.

Mind you, I only tried this combo out because I was frustrated at not having a Harrier. Now I'm frustrated at not having a Harrier or a Typhoon.
