The servers go down time to time for maintanance or crashes etc. I get it.
But why oh why can't I, a paying Customer, not even play the game in single player, offline mode when the servers are down?
simply because It can't connect to verify DLC content?
I get the error message; "cannot connect to EA servers and verify Earth DLC or extended directors cut DLC."
seriously?
why do i have to verify them EVERY time i want to play the SINGLE PLAYER game?!?!?!
This has to be a breach of trading laws everywhere. You cannot sell a product then deny people the ability to use it due to your own incometant programming.

WTF? I cant play single player when servers are down?

No kidding. I've never had this problem using Steam offline...

I had the same this morning.
The thing that annoyed me the most was that when EA announced the downtime in their forum they said that single player would not be affected, yet it was.

You can set Origin/Steam to Offline mode and play in Singleplayer, or so I was told by an EA tech support bod. I haven't tried it but give it a go. After the first validation of DLC's, it shouldn't be necessary to do it again.

This works, for I have had authentication issues in the past and setting Origin to offline will allow the game to work without being connected.
