I've been playing this game since launch, and today I decided to try out the Vanguard class. I picked the Asari Vanguard and entered a BRONZE lobby. The first thing I here upon entering is these disgustingly geeky voices coming out of my TV (I wasn't wearing my headset) going "Vanguard! Vanguard! Eeeeh Vanguard!" What the hell? Did I miss something?

I mean, it's not like I joined a Platinum lobby with a lvl. 6 Vanguard or anything. It was a bronze match! And these guys all had lvl. 20 characters and a N7 level around the 1000's. So what were these people doing in a bronze match in the first place? Can't they just start a private game, if they have such a big issue with people who plays a different class than themselves? Douchebags.

Anyway, did I do something wrong? Is playing Vanguard a sin?

Maybe because of the Vanguard bug. Once it happens you can't really do anything then watch.

Vanguard glitch. Try hosting if you want to play Vanguards.

A lot of people really dislike Vanguards, especially on bronze, because people tend to fly around the map and at best, rack up a lot of kills. At worst, and on harder difficulties, they fly into a group far away and die, meaning that someone has to go revive them.

Also, if you end up as a victim of the vanguard glitch, you essentially have a non-contributing player on your team, which can be rough on objective missions.

EDIT: Vanguard bug happens when you die just before charging, or sometimes just because of charging onto higher/lower ground or just charging in general. It puts the vanguard into an area that is not quite on the map, so powers and shooting are ineffective, and there's no way to come out of it.

Charge after death due to lag/latency. You will either fall under or rise above the map and won't be able to do much to help your team except be an invincible decoy. Also if the team goes down and you're last on standing (Or rather flying), they'll probably ask you to leave since the match will never end.

I agree with the sentiment that the people you joined are douchebags though. It's bronze. Chill.

Mainly becaue of the glitch IMO.

There were quite a number of vanguard players I have met who conveniently blame that glitch as a reason to "leech"

The vanguard glitches out somewhere after completing the first round of objectives but before the next one so they are already "invested" into the match and won't leave without their credits. So basically we ended up being one man short for the remaining six rounds while he gets to do nothing but still get all the credits by leeching on the 3 of us.If there are more than one vanguard on the team and they both glitched,it's gg.

One of them said,"Hey don't blame me,blame Bioware for taking their sweet ass time in fixing it"

I have to admit that he is right but still it gets me cautious about players bring in vanguards.I very much welcome kroguards but only if they are the host.

seriously, right? yeah... getting pissy (ESPECIALLY ON BRONZE) over class choice?

Heck i've seen vanguards simply ROCK gold... and NEVER be a burden.

i think a lot of it is that people started getting tired of certain vanguard players -- and the momentum of hate took over.. (which coincidentally is the same thing i think happened with the ME3 ending. kinda bad.... but it was really the hate spiral gaining momentum that turned it into such a rage fest)

Hmm, that sounds pretty bad. I'll make sure to quit if it ever happens to me. Still, it seems a bit to kick people on bronze because of a glitch that MIGHT happen.

Also, about charging into a bunch of enemies of the other side of the map. Yeah. some people do that, but on bronze, it's not like you're forced to revive them. Just ignore them. That way, they'll hopefully learn their lesson.

What he said, especially the first part and remember that Bronze peeps take time to kill things. If there is a vanguard glitch and he/she is working as a good decoy due to the map, its amazingly easy on any difficulty and frankly that particular fella earned whatever credits he gets

Partially because of the glitch, and partially because 80% of Vanguards in PUG lobbies are terribad.

It's not hating but I do give my friend some affable grief about her making my crosshairs bounce up and down.

Well that may be an issue on silver or gold, but bronze? Come on.

One of these 3 reasons :
1) You could glitch, and make it a 3-man game
2) You could be 'a bad', and die every couple seconds
3) You could be good, and hog all the kills, making it a boring game

There's not much in-between, unfortunately.
You either know how to survive in close range, or you don't.
If you do then you are a wrecking ball, if you don't then all you do is die.

The Vanguard glitch is one of the most prolific glitches in the game.  It happens way too often.  They aren't kicking you because of something that might happen, they are kicking you because of something that probably will happen.

On the other hand, it happens less on bronze.  On gold, more than half the time someone brings a Vanguard, the game breaks, or the Vanguard glitch happens.

I'm fine with Vanguards so long as they are hosting, or, like myself, don't have any points in charge and verbalize this fact.

Topped scoreboard as a drell vanguard without using grenades on gold. Loved the muted astonishment on the lobby after the match. :P
