Its bronze.....you have to try to die on that setting.

Try playing with an Ex-Cerberus Vanguard. Dude has paper for shields. I'm surprised he doesn't fly apart in mid air during his biotic charge.

I like using him due to his bump in weapon damage after a charge (I wreak havoc with the reager), but man - he's fragile. I'm the moron who charges two Ravagers in the hopes that I'll drop one with the reager then evade the second.

Hasn't worked yet. I'm thinking I should stick to my kroguard with the 2 second recharge on biotic charge...

I have an asari vanguard who can dominate silver matches, and contribute on gold in the right team- except against reapers. That's because phantoms are no longer a threat, and most invisible and shielded geth are taken care of. Mind you, that's more because of stasis than the vanguard per se, but her health and shields are pretty high too, which is useful. Geth Plasma shotgun, stasis for phantoms, stasis for setting up biotic explosions, looking to help teammates, use biotic charge only in emergencies (or to quickly isolate and kill a target who is not in a pack).

Hm... with the Phoenix Vanguard I don't even bother with shields. I max out fitness for melee. He's got the best melee ever for a vanguard, with the exception of maybe the N7 Slayer, but I dunno since I don't have that one yet. You don't need great shields if your charge maxes them out again. Charge, roll/melee, Smash and cancel it with a roll or a melee. it's what I played to get the squad commendation against Reapers last weekend.

Lame.

Vanguard without host is going to glitch unless you have a super-uber conection.

Lame is the vanguard, for not hosting and bioware for not fixing it.<_<

I obviously need to change up my strategy. My team gets a full workout on "how to revive your teammates" tutorial.

I usually take 1 or 2 with me, though...

I wouldn't say my connection is super-uber, and it happens about as often as I get upgrades for my Harrier.

I've just played 5 Silver matched in a row, not host. No glitches. Stop kicking people for something you think might happen.

Oh, and by the way, no one has tried to kick me in any of these matches! :wizard: Hope regained.

Vanguards are a scourge on the game, kill stealing, getting killed while going lone wolf on the far side of the map, generally being very annoying. (Except when I play one of course.)

I would put money on the fact it's because of the vanguard bug, every time I see one in the team line up I groan a little cause 9 times out of 10 the match involves either the vanguard floating above the map or everyone falling through it.

I've never found Vanguards to be more of a problem than any other class on Silver or Gold. On Bronze, however, it's very easy to exploit their Biotic Charge to basically solo the game regardless of who you are playing with. The Vanguard is definitely very popular with some of the worst players out there, and that plays into it in a big way.
I used to leave whenever there was a human vanguard in the lobby, because of the above reasons, and because Shockwave used to mess up co-op players' aim a lot more than it does now.
After a while, I got over it. I learned to adjust my playing style to accomodate the Vanguards who are a pain in the butt (I had to, it's pretty hard to get into a lobby without creating one).
I would be a lot more bothered by someone who kicks players for using Vanguards, especially because I semi-regularly use an Asari Vanguard, myself.
I've only rarely seen the Vanguard glitch, and it has never happened to me when I've been using one. I find that a little strange, because I die more using the Vanguard than any other class, which is apparently related to the bug. In either case, kicking someone is both aggressive and hostile, and there's not much excuse for doing it to someone because they "might not be good".

One of these 3 reasons :
1) You could glitch, and make it a 3-man game
2) You could be 'a bad', and die every couple seconds
3) You could be good, and hog all the kills, making it a boring game

There's not much in-between, unfortunately.
You either know how to survive in close range, or you don't.
If you do then you are a wrecking ball, if you don't then all you do is die.

This man speaks the truth.  Also, I typically leave any pug where I hear people talking in the lobby.

 Screw you.

They glitch and do nothing and I'm the idiot because I don't want to play with them? I will be glad to play with any Vanguard if they're hosting.

Now try with a vanguard across the globe.

You connection is probably  super-uber compared to what my country has. One of the worst internet services in the world.

Good for you. Now host and avoid the glitch and the kick 100% of times.

Try hosting for a vanguard from europe with a conection from where I live(Brazil). Vanguard is going to glitch. 10 out of 10.

Must vanguards can't resist the urge to biotic charge a group of enemies and then get downed, after the 4th time reviving you your on your own after that

I've been playing this game since launch, and today I decided to try out the Vanguard class. I picked the Asari Vanguard and entered a BRONZE lobby. The first thing I here upon entering is these disgustingly geeky voices coming out of my TV (I wasn't wearing my headset) going "Vanguard! Vanguard! Eeeeh Vanguard!" What the hell? Did I miss something?

I mean, it's not like I joined a Platinum lobby with a lvl. 6 Vanguard or anything. It was a bronze match! And these guys all had lvl. 20 characters and a N7 level around the 1000's. So what were these people doing in a bronze match in the first place? Can't they just start a private game, if they have such a big issue with people who plays a different class than themselves? Douchebags.

Anyway, did I do something wrong? Is playing Vanguard a sin?

They are the most buggiest of them all.

The ammount of times i spam biotic charge and my character just stands still and dies, despite a clear line of "charge".

Also, when charging, my character went down numerous times and started glitching through the map so....

They are very good, but so buggy, i just do not touch them anymore.

I find it hard to believe you were playing since lauch and don't know why people generally dislike the vangaurd.
Something to do with glitching out of the map every once in a while. Or nova-guarding...
"RAGHHHH--ARRRGHHH!"
Now kroguard on the other hand. People like that guy. :)

The Vanguard hate stems from the fact that we get murdered by a combination of lag, ridiculous enemy targeting skills, and overpowered instakills.

nah, slayer works fine in any lobby, don't need to host, and so does the kroguard for the most parts
