Clarifying the missing mods from the Multiplayer Manifest

For the people who are still not getting the new Gear/Mods (whether Uncommon or Rare), have you updated your ME3 client recently? I make it a point to update my client every time a patch or update is released. I've gotten 2 of the new Rare Gears and 1 new Uncommon Gear in the last few days, so I can confirm that they ARE dropping. (Of course, Gears are still crazily rare in the first place.)

Of course it makes sense, you can't make the gun lighter because it messes with the stability and renders the stability mod useless.

Even if it didn't make sense, its for balance I would assume. Maybe a bit knee-jerk (I doubt an ultra-light recoil-less Hurricane would be *that* bad, but it is a very powerful gun).

I think it was originaly meant to add +50% melee damage at the cost of extra weight.

Yep, and I hope they make the weight gain static as well as miniscule. I think a 10%-30% weight increase (meaning a static increase not a 10%-30% increase on the weapon's weight) would be a good number. Any more than that and it might become to heavy to be used effectively on the classes that would actually use it.

The weight gain as listed from the Earth DLC files indicate a 0.5 flat gain from level I to level V of any gear that indicates a weight gain. Of course, that could get changed prior to going live.

Can you list the other stats? Or do you have a link already with them somewhere? Would appreciate it.

The AR omniblade doesn't increase the weight of ARs.

Edit: I'm interested to see a shotgun with both the omni-blade mod and the shotgun blade mod. 50% increase to melee damage ain't to shabby especially for melee-centric characters like the N7 Shadow.


Some mods are not able to be used with others, you can't have both blades on at once.

Hi Chris,

Some of the mods may be missing, but can you say anything about the existing gears? More specifically, can you comment on the low drop rates of certain gears? They seem to drop less frequently than ultra rares, and they clearly do not take precedence over level IV consumables, even once you have all of your rare weapons and attachments maxed.

In looking at manifests I've noticed that many people have all of the rare gears through Operative Package V maxed, and the remaining gears (especially the uncommon ones) will hardly drop. Is this intentional or is there a problem with the system that you are working to address? As it stands, the gear drop system seems far from random.

Well put GeneralElectric. I fear however that Bioware doesn't read these issues, or those that do don't know the answer or forward the issues to the people that do.

My manifest (see link below) is a perfect example of what you are referring to. Unfortunately, my manifest doesn't show that I've spent 28M credits since the Earth DLC and am still missing THIRTY ONE gear drops. Pretty disappointing that this hasn't been addressed by Bioware.

Then there should be a sticky post about the Gear so people know not to waste their credits until the issue has been addressed.

Looking back at that spreadsheet, if the ARHVB doesn't add damage like the SGHVB does, I'm going to be markedly less excited about these mods..

I hope BioWare keeps up with the threads that it starts! Given today's balance changes, it seems like the company's listening (especially with the shield gate change, although I don't know why the Typhoon was nerfed). Plus there have been some recent responses to other things, like possible implementations of Wave 11 completion rewards and the potential to bring back or program new boss headshots. But in relation to the gears, the company's been oddly quiet.

Holy crap to the 28 mill. There's no way bad luck can account for the lack of gear upgrades.

28 million definitely beats my 1.8 million with no drops other than consumables (and I need over a dozen rare gears and all of the ultra rares). My total would be more impressive but I simply stopped playing after a week of this BS except for an hour per N7 weekend event.

Gear really needs to put before consumables, drop wise. Uncommon Gear is rarer than Ultra Rare, and Rare gear is about as rare as Ultra Rare, and I don't think that was intended.
