I'm stuck. I got to her journal, but cannot get the Trenches to come up on the map. What am I missing?

Exited and re-entered half a dozen times. Quest journal says go to Deep Trenchs.

IIRC, there is only one exit that works to get you to the trenches, once you find her journal. Take a look at the map, and try a different exit/direction (it is a bit confusing, and it's possible you haven't finished the area yet that grants you that exit.) Yep, only one exit unlocks the place you're looking for. Keep on searching.
(My patience wears thin in the Deep Roads, such that I stop caring if I did the side quests sometimes. I just want to leave!)

If I recall correctly, the exit is a little bit north and a little bit east of the bench where the journal is found. Going back in the direction of Ruck's cave is the wrong way to go.
