Curious....What does it take to mod characters in-game? Is it a patch of some sort? And are there any 'harmful' (for lack of a better word) effects of modding, on the original software, or effects on your system at large? Does modifying have any ill effects in the long-run?

(These questions are coming from a guy whose never used any game mods before) But after seeing some of the textures and features you're all able to create-- I'm definitely interested! What's the secret?

My avatar is my sexy Hawke, Nivenah. There's something about the darker skin tone and the short white hair with brightly coloured eyes and make-up that I think is hot. Maybe it's because I have a thing for black girls, LOL. My inspiration for the white hair came from Halle Berry's portrayal of Storm in the X-Men movies, and I've always liked girls in short hair (not that I don't think long hair is sexy, but that's another reason).

I don't normally get involved in the whole Voice Acting arguements :-

"FemShep is better!"
"No! ManShep is way better. Jen Hale sucks!"
"No way! Jen Hale is Awesome. Mark Meer is terrible!"

And so on. It all makes me sad cos I think they are all great in their own way.

But the VA in Dragon Age 2 is terrible. The Irish sounding Elves (instead of Welsh sounding like they are supposed to be). The strangely American sounding Ferelden's/Antivans/Nevarrans. And FemHawke... FemHawke is the worst in the whole game.

Worse than "STEEEVVE!!!!!"

The VA for FemHawke just sounds monotonous and bored pretty much the whole game. Like she was thinking the whole way thru "God MORE lines in this terrible game? Do I really HAVE to do this? Jeez"

Because of it, FemHawke doesn't exist to me. She makes me want to .

Lol.

But your top FemHawke - way hawt. Comin from a gay thats a compliment.


The next two...

The second looks like Cassandra, and the third looks like Isabela.

Hehe ty! I love Femhawke voice alot.. I think FemShepard  voice is not bad but.. still like Femhawke voice alot more, to me it sound very femenine.




I have made many Femhawke some are gone from my comp this ones I keep because they are dear to me.. is so silly isn't? they are fictional character !!! but still I like them alot!

You play on a PC? My characters are made with mod's.
There is always a chance to get corrupt mods but you need to let the owner to know about it.

I don't entirely disagree with that assessment, but you need to keep in mind that Shepard is a highly trained badass marine and thus needs to sound like a highly trained badass marine.
Hawke on the other had is pretty much an "ordinary" person thrust into a series of unfortunate events that he/she needs to fight his/her way thru.

This means that Hawke needs to emote in his/her voice a LOT more than Shepard does, because of the different background and circumstances. Shepard is "ready" for it, and Hawke is not.
And while I agree that FemHawke sounds more girly (because well she is more girly), I do not agree that she sounds better than FemShep; simply because as I said Hawke needs to Emote More than Shepard and she Emote's Less than Shepard.

FemHawke's VA sounds perpetually bored, seriously. Compare her to ManHawke's VA - go look on youtube there are comparison videos. She sounds bored, annoyed, and "do I really have to say this line again?" the whole way thru the game.

I don't mind if the delivery of a line or two is flat. I mean "STEEEVE!!!" made me giggle at how terrible it was.
But when upwards of 80% of the performance is flat, wooden, and just bored sounding I find it difficult to enjoy. Thus my dislike of FemHawke. I can't play FemHawke because of how terrible the VA is; especially when you compare it to the awesome job the VA for ManHawke did.

Also why is it your FemHawke's (except the first one) all look like other characters.

You had Cassandra-look-alike.
Then Isabela-look-alike.
Then Bethany-look-alike (which makes sense cos they r sisters).
And the last one looks a bit like Aveline; except with a less square jaw lol.

The first one is very pretty tho. Super cute. :-)

I think all ends up in "the eye of the beholder" sorta thing with respect of FemShepard and femhawke, some people likes tall people others likes them short. I like FemShepard character but I prefer FemHawke character, I do not look for who is better I think both are good at what they do, it just i have different taste thats all.

My character all comes from the same type of Face believe it or not, something silly about me if I find a face I like.. every new character is made out of that type of face and no matter how hard I try to change it, I always come back to the same face.
So if people find this faces similar to X-character/s I don't know why, maybe is because a hair style or a pose.


Thats the face I always pick to create my Fhawke's.

I have only played  the ME serie once, I don't like how it ends and I'll leave it at that here is My Shep


I think she looks like my Femhawke lol!

I agree. I don't believe it's the fault of the VA though. It sounds like she's trying really hard to sound girly and sexy and...traded all emotion in her voice for that one ideal, I'm thinking it was requested of her. 
Even her sarcastic lines aren't funny, they sound way better when being said by M!Hawke and the lines are exactly the same!!
F!Hawkes Aggressive/Direct voice is spot on though. 
If anything where to stop me from playing her though...it would be her running animation. Ugh.

I feel your pain. I have too many characters but i'm attached to them so...they stay on my harddrive because i love them too much to delete them.

Thx. Well one is a dagger, I loved the LS and dagger look in DAO so I kept it.

Sexy Hawkes!!! *growl* hehehe......@energizerbunny - My smexy-smexy Hawkes from the second page are done without any mods. I did just recently get DAO and DA2 for the PC (and a new gaming PC courtesy of my wubbley Husband), and I have to say that...I think I did a better job without the mods than with....HA! I think I got lazy with the mods, where as with the xbox toons, I tried much harder, and spent a lot more time in the CC.

My gals are also quite Sizzlin', but I stuck with my man****s (and yes, I can call them that because that's how I RP'ed them....*giggle/snort*) because the OP had a ManWarden....figured fair was fair...*wicked grin*!

There are only 4 pages in this thread if you were that concerned you would have gone through them.
If you are so sure that in every thread showcasing custom characters features pcs made by "people with the taste of a 9 year old boy" (lol) then why are you here?
