I wasn't able to convince the landsmeet of Loghain's treachery with 4-2 margin without Anora's support.

Loghain tried to arrest me and I handily whooped his ass (i.e. reduce his health to zero) and yet the fight doesn't end.  As an Arcane Warrior, I can keep buffs up, go have a cup of coffee and the fight will still continue with Loghain's health at zero.  He will take 0 damage from my attacks at that point.

I understand from the wikis that the nobles are suppose to propose a duel when his health is zero...  It's not happening.

Any help will be appreciated.  :{  103hrs into the game at a leisurely pace only to encounter this bug.

Sigh... Resorted to the console and enabled all the support I could muster and managed to win the landsmeet without a huge fight. This game is glitchy...

I have encountered the same bug. I think I'm ending up with a draw at the landsmeet, but the fight with Loghain is never interrupted. He goes down to zero health but the "duel" portion is never triggered. Anyone get around this without the console? And if not, what console command did you use?

Did anyone find a solution to the 4-2 support ending in Loghain winning? I made the deal with Anora, even checked back with her just before starting landsmeet and she says we have our deal. Then in landsmeet she says I refused to make a deal with her (but I did not!!!). After that 4 of the six gathered side with me but Loghain says I'm to be executed. What is going on? If you have any idea please let me know.

I have the patched PC version of the game if that is important.

so yeah. i bought the ultimate edition from steam, now im stuck at the point where loghain goes into an immortal berserk at the landsmeet and my whole sodding squad attacks him. checked the forums out for help, everything made sense as they should (been doing this a few times before and had no problems then). i tried to create a new shortcut and add the "-enabledeveloperconsole" in the target line and even remebered to put space after the quote. went to steam dragon age launch options and put the same command there. ran the game in admin mode, opened the keybindings file and checked the correct console activation button. nothing happens. downloaded a letter font mod so that the letter would show, just plain nothing. the game rolls and it doesnt even feel like any console has opened. feels real nice just to buy a game just to notice that i tells you to sod off.

I just got hit with this bug on my recent playthough. The cited thread does not offer any solutions. Using the "zz_den_debug" script did not offer a working solution. Earlier saves produce the same results. Regardless of what I do, there is no cutscene that precedes the duel - it starts immediately with my entire party fighting Loghain and he can't be killed. Wonderful game, wonderful support. I'm done.

Try ising a knockdown move (Stone Fist, Shield Bash) when he gets to 0 and refuses to die.

I encountered this glitch twice now, I have almost all of the Landsmeet's support, I convinced Anora to marry Alistair and yet she betrayed me

I've just encountered this bug - I've tried the zz_den_debug script as mentioned above, and no matter which options I choose I'm getting a duel with Loghain in which he cannot be defeated. No spell, or knockdown move makes any difference.
I had no problem with a previous playthrough, so this is extra frustrating.

Do you have any mods installed?

I did have some, and the first thing I tried was to remove them completely. (They had all been installed into the core/override folder, and that is now empty). The game has been completed twice with the mods installed, however.

Removing the mods hasn't made any difference, unfortunately. At the moment, my hubby (who posted the message you quoted) has gone back to a saved game during the Unrest in the Alienage quest, just in case the bug can be avoided by going back a little earlier.

I'm hoping that the only solution isn't to restart the entire game, or to go back to the first time Denerim is entered in case that is the point where the bug is randomly triggered. This is quite an alarming bug!

Sounds like you're on the right track.  Some mods appear to affect saved game files, so even if they're removed, their influence lingers.  That said, reverting to an older saved game is usually an option.

I don't think this bug is triggered by entering Denerim (or at least I haven't seen any evidence to that effect), but I think going back to before the Landsmeet triggers is a wise move.

Let us know if it works.  If it does, I'll update the Solutions Roundup.  If not, we can scratch our heads and try to troubleshoot more.

RI

EDIT:  Adding...  I'm curious if you have (had) the "extra dog slot" mod installed?  It seems to be a troublemaker.

No, although I did notice that it was a likely culprit. :)

The mods I had installed were:

Dragon Age Rules Fixpack (http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1601)
Endgame Dialogue and Epilogue Slide Dialogue fixes (http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=513)
Activate tactics for selected character (http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=226)
Less barking dog (http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=130)
Silent PC (http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=249)
Shut Schmooples Up (http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1178)
Mild romance scenes (http://social.biowar...ect/2418/#files)
Alistair's First Night Scene (http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1420)
Fang at Tier 7 (http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1021)
Ancient Elven boots fix (http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=238)

That's all of them, in the order they were added (IIRC).

Success!

What *didn't* work:

-- a saved game just after the second encounter with Ser Cauthrien
-- a saved game from Arl Eamon's estate, just prior to leaving for the Landsmeet

What did work:

-- loading a saved game from part-way through the Unrest in the Alienage quest. This was followed by a couple of minor quest mop-ups that took the character outside of Denerim, before returning to Arl Eamon's estate and then heading to the Landsmeet.

Thank you for your replies!
