Thing that kills me is a squad using a few rounds, reloading, and taking the ammo for a weapon with <100 rounds while my devastator is using a > 400 round capacity revenant and I can't get ammo. Completely ruins an effective 2 man team.

I dont mind other players using "my pylon-generated nades", neither should any other demolisher (in my opinion). However, all ppl on the team should play together and if one player overusing everyone's resources a bit too much - well it's time to point it out. But i don't recommend hiding with the pylon - place it strategically and keep on the move to help team also I often take nades from ammo boxes and place pylon either where my teammates runa lot or in "camp zone" (depends on game) - this way everyone has nades.

I'd say it's actually more of a weakness in the class than it is a weakness in the team. It seems like one of the class evolutions should allow you to regen a grenade every once in a while (at the cost of a slight decrease in the regen rate on the pylon) - I mean, you're already carrying pylons in your pocket, right?

I've found so far that if your teammates are literally hogging the pylon grenades and your team is moving regularly, it can actually be hard to contribute very well from a damage standpoint, especially on harder difficulties, because the class really is incredibly grenade dependent. You become just a roaming ammo box, and while helpful, that's boring as hell, and on gold not really enough when you only have 4 players to start with.

Granted I haven't used the class enough to *really* get used to it, but that's my impression so far.

I gotta say, I don't really like the way they did the pylon. It really should have just supplied grenades to everyone in the AoE every few seconds. Having to fight for the grenades on what I assume was meant to be a team skill is kind of silly.

Yeah, i think its a flaw but often times players run byto get extra shield boost/other reasons and dont intend to pick up extra ammo, it just gets in the way so easily

Way to be a team player.

On a serious note, I understand your frustrations. But it's a support class. Do some supporting.

I can't ever get ammo out of that damn thing. Only time it seemed to work well for ammo was when we did a team of three demolishers and an Asari Adept (cause he's weird like that, lol). Not that the AA isn't good or anything.

All my gold runs with demolisher put me at #1 spot (except 1 time when another demolisher beat me and bumped me to 2nd). And I spam the hell out of nades - key is to not forget about ammo boxes - nades in ammo boxes and pylons all regenerate very fast now even on gold, so it should never be issue. Lastly, there're thermal packs - so if we're in tight spot and eveyone is around pylon i use thermal packs.

My team played around with it and got it to work. We used 2 destroyers, a devastator, and an infiltrator camped out on the bridge in London on platinum and were able to clear it. The biggest things we learmed were 1. Only the destroyer needs a grenade build. 2. Nobody needs to stand right on top of the pylon until they need shields, ammo, or grenades. and 3. The destroyer works best when his team is using high ammo capacity weapons.

Well maybe if Bioware made the grenade boxes more sufficient, I wouldn't have to choose between grabbing a single multifrag, waiting 30 seconds at a nearby ammo box, or running across the map, just so I have a single grenade that I invested 21 points into. Seriously, 1 per box is just not sufficient enough.

As much as I am addicted to the homing Grenades I just use the reg Ammo Boxes for more. I don't use a Pylon until we do hacking or extraction

Engineer, Pootispenser Here.

If A Demolisher puts down a Pylon and works with a Demoloisher that only uses their grenades for staggering...and proceed to enjoy holding the line.

Speaking as a Demolisher...

Keep using my pylon. It's there for you.

Stand in that circle. It gives you a higher maximum shield--and weapon damage! It gives you ammo!

zhk3r gave a very good tip for demolisher users: once your cooldown is gone, put up a new pylon.

depending on your loadout, you can put a new pylon every 10 - 20 seconds. lots of grenades :D

I am the first to admit that I'm not the best at haunting ammo boxes. I am trying to improve at that but I still have issue keeping full unless I'm the only one on the team using grenades (prior to this week, if I was on a tech-heavy team without grenades, I would immediately switch to quarian male inf - mmmm). Yes, I use thermal packs with those characters, and they are particularly glorious with this one.

That's like playing QM and not using TacScan. I mean, you don't even have Pylon sharing cooldown with anything:huh:

Recast it somewhere else. Cooldown matters if you aren't planning to camp the whole game.

Problem solved.

What I've noticed is that people seem to forget that normal ammo boxes exists once the pylon goes down. All they do is just cluster around it and gaze into its whirlly colored lights, waiting for the 10/15 second ammo kami to drop more goodies.

It's both funny and really annoying.

I love the demolisher, and I'm all for helping people out... But earlier I had this god awfully annoying Krogan practically teabagging my pylon for the entire match. Like it's one thing to be near it, but another thing to be on top of me for the entire match. I literally could not move because I was stuck between this ****** and the wall most of the time.

I repeatedly heavy meleed him and moved the pylon, and I think he finally got the idea later on. But we ended up wiping. It was extremely frustrating, and distracting.

So if you're a person who does this, screw you.
