What I've noticed is that people seem to forget that normal ammo boxes exists once the pylon goes down. All they do is just cluster around it and gaze into its whirlly colored lights, waiting for the 10/15 second ammo kami to drop more goodies.

It's both funny and really annoying.

But but it shines!

I love the demolisher, and I'm all for helping people out... But earlier I had this god awfully annoying Krogan practically teabagging my pylon for the entire match. Like it's one thing to be near it, but another thing to be on top of me for the entire match. I literally could not move because I was stuck between this ****** and the wall most of the time.

I repeatedly heavy meleed him and moved the pylon, and I think he finally got the idea later on. But we ended up wiping. It was extremely frustrating, and distracting.

So if you're a person who does this, screw you.

choose radius on evo 4. the +25% regeneration rate is not worth losing the radius. this  guy probably was staying inside it because he thought he was supposed  to be workin with the team.....
but if you mean he was standing on top of the pylon itself, everytime you moved it, well.. yeah.
i dont blame you.

All my gold runs with demolisher put me at #1 spot (except 1 time when another demolisher beat me and bumped me to 2nd). And I spam the hell out of nades - key is to not forget about ammo boxes - nades in ammo boxes and pylons all regenerate very fast now even on gold, so it should never be issue. Lastly, there're thermal packs - so if we're in tight spot and eveyone is around pylon i use thermal packs.

I am the first to admit that I'm not the best at haunting ammo boxes. I am trying to improve at that but I still have issue keeping full unless I'm the only one on the team using grenades (prior to this week, if I was on a tech-heavy team without grenades, I would immediately switch to quarian male inf - mmmm). Yes, I use thermal packs with those characters, and they are particularly glorious with this one.

I played  as male quarian engi before a lot specced my build for tech bursts - needless to say i needed nades -lots of them- so I had to learn where to look and how to run the hard way but it was so easy and fast (it seems tedious but its not). And keep getting those PSP or SPs and once you get Grenade Cappacity gear upgrade - take it! Forget anything else, use consumables for weapon damage/ammo/shield/etc, that gear allows you to store a lot - so now on gold runs I only use 1-2 thermal packs when before I used to use 5. And good luck, the class is fun and you'll see how fast the ammo boxes give you nades now - its ridiculous (Especially on those new maps where its 2/box)

If your Demolisher is running out of nades, just put up a new pylon and sit on top of it. When your CD is gone, re-cast pylon immediately after you are resupplied with nades to get more nades. If you are not short of nades, do share as some other classes can make better use of nades. The QMI's arc grenade has a much better radius and the Destroyer needs his multi-frags (you don't want to ****** off a guy in a mech suit).

Radius wouldn't have made a difference. He was literally on top of the pylon itself the entire time. And if he wasn't, he was holding left/right walking at me until he was.

Correction, I've seen just about everyone but a Krogan get blinky light blinded by the Pylon. You would be the first.

Think of it this way: Now you get the ammo boxes all to yourself.

More realistically, I think the reality of how the Supply Pylon works is somewhat different than what everyone imagined when it was first leaked, which for my part was more like an AOE that fed you ammo/grenades automatically. (How? Space magic.)

As much as I am addicted to the homing Grenades I just use the reg Ammo Boxes for more. I don't use a Pylon until we do hacking or extraction

That's like playing QM and not using TacScan. I mean, you don't even have Pylon sharing cooldown with anything:huh:

Don't know how thats the same since TacScan can be used on the go to get extra damage and the Pylon I would need to be right by to use in the middle of a firefight with a Brute or Banshee which in most cases isn't a good idea

we used two to just farm some easy games and did fine. I spammed 10 as fast as i could ans use mostly homing nades on the bosses

Btw who too the splitting names option? I set mine for platinum and figured it might be best to pack one big punch. But whats better?

yes, you are correct, setting up the pylon inthe middle of a firefight IS a bad idea. this is why you take cover....
i cant understand why you basically say its useless "( I only use it for hacking/extraction!)" when it can give you 2 grenades constantly, and weapon/power and shield boost to multiple people. why even play the class?

I see both of your points - in the end it depends on playstyle - sure one might be maximizing the class but sometimes thats not what someone is most comfortable with .... On a sidenote (gold runs) i often put pylons right next to big messy fights so that bashee's warps are no longer a death sentence.

It may be an engineer, but I can't think of it as a support class, at least in the same way as the other engineers. If you can find a safe spot that you can stay at for a bit, you become a stationary artillery unit. You can self tech burst to add to the damage already put out by the grenades themselves. I tend to plant my pylon as I move to new cover and use ammo intensive weapons, and basically only the typhoon after I got it, it is an awesome supplement to the grenade damage. The pylon does a lot more than just supply ammo anyway, depending on the evos you choose, it boosts shields and power/weapon damage, teammates can get these bonuses without picking up your grenades.

Way to be a team player.

On a serious note, I understand your frustrations. But it's a support class. Do some supporting.

Yes, a "Support" class that can easily top the leaderboard by twice as many points as player on 2nd in gold/platninum unless all other are adepts working together to do biotic detonations.

I took split nades and did fine on platinum (#2 spot) separated by a few thousands, so they are totally viable (with radius and fire).

If you recast the pylon you'll get a couple of grenades when it is deployed. There are plenty of times even when you are running around the map that you could take a couple of seconds to stop and recast it to get a couple of quick grenades.

I didn't say it's useless I said there is no point in using it if I'm not holding a spot and cover doesn't help aganst a gang of Brutes or Banshees lol

yes there is you get 2 grenades lol. i leave pylons  all over the map if the team is working mobile. it doesnt take long to make one. if you have a short cooldown you can get new grenades every 5-6 seconds. thats a lot of grenades you are potentially not obtaining.

I put my pylon right on top of the destroyer. If I run out of nades and clips, he will hold down the fort while I am free to run around and collect ammo.(depending on map) and if I am really desperate I will just recast. Its annoying when you run out of nades, yes, but its hardly the end of the world depending on class composition of your group. Ive had games where Im with 3 adepts and they dont even fire a shot and they tell me go away and stop messing up their BEs, lol.

Having completed demo on platinum on multiple maps, I'm inclined to agree with OP here. Grenades are my only power, and I've specced into 10+15+20 percent power damage, so it's not like I have a bunch of weapon buffs even if I am rocking my harrier and krysae. It's difficult running to multiple ammo boxes on platinum (usually there are 1-2 accessible), so the grenades that do regen should belong to me. Go nuts on the ammo and other pylon buffs, but the grenades are my PRIMARY source of damage.

As a rule though, I communicate with my team and ensure there are no more than 2 grenade users (including me), so it's less of an issue.

I do not think ammo powers have any effect on honing nades... same as they do not have any effect on any other powers...
and good luck!
