In a way, it would have made more sense for the class to -not- use grenades but still have that pylon. That way she'd play a more supportive role.

I've been asked to move out of range for a second to let the engineer get ammo (I think it was the engi anyway, there was another guy there). I wasn't a grenade user. I'm sure if I was I'd be hording his pylon for that reason too. Maybe it's something grenade users have to learn about playing with the demolisher class.

Its funny, even with the pylon I still run to the ammo box to get grenades if no other grenade users are on the team. Its basically 1/2 of your offensive arsenal.

Also, if you hit a target with both grenades you get a burst if you spec'd bot grenades into DOTS. I found this out from forum users yesterday. I recommend using a homing missile first since they take time to travel. As soon as you cast it immediately chunk your Arc grenade. Instant fire explosion every time. By the time you throw those two grenades your pylon is recharged.
I always use the typhoon or harrier with the demolisher so I don't mind sharing the grenades. But I did wonder about the two types of grenades. Is it worth it to have both types, and spec both for dot?
I saw posts saying that the homing grenades had poor travel time and accuracy so I did not put any points in there ( all arc grenades ). I have played several gold matches with only arc grenades so I know it works ok. But always looking for more damage, lol.
The homing grenade is slow but if you deploy it and then immediately throw your arc grenade you get an explosion. It is called "Fire Explosion". They take massive damage. You could also throw an Arc Grenade first and while it is dotting do your homing missile. This gives you a "Tech Burst". You can create your own explosions or bursts all you want as long as you spec DOT on both grenades.
On my Demolisher I have a no weight weapon and grenade capacity. I have nothing spec'd into fitness. I start the round with 8 grenades and all I have is Grenade Capacity II. I can lay my pylon out every 4-5 seconds and get two more grenades. My play looks like this:
homing grenade -arc greande - explosion
I do that four times and by then my pylon gives me two more grenades.
I do it a fifth time then relay my pylon and rinse and repeat. By the time you throw your homing grenade and your arc grenade you are almost always ready to redploy your pylon for two more grenades.
Edit: I got cursed out last night because of my DOTS on an Prime. This guy comes in and decides to missile glitch with his friend. His friend finally says oh this is not fun let me get a kill. He leaves the prime up so I chunked grenades and dotted him up really good and walked off. I got the kill and not the friend. The guy used every profanity he could think of against me. I am thinking no dude...you and your friend ruined MY game by glitching. I think that is what is unfair. Glitchers. Not strategically minded players.

The only trouble is I'm pretty squishie. I usually stay near my pylon and if I go to rez someone I'm good as dead. I'm getting good at rolling back though. Funny thing is I've started getting nervous when I'm away from it. My team calls it my security blanket. I don't mind when people bunker down with me and take ammo/grenades as it means I get to stay with the pylon. It's funny to see everyone dancing around it. Especially when I've placed it near an ammo box. Oddly enough people don't go to the ammo box.

Pretty much this - The homing grenade wipes out armoured targets and sets off tech bursts and explosions to wipe out whoever's next to them too. You can down Primes, brutes, ravagers etc by throwing both in volleys.

Heres the thing. Yes, I know this is a video game and to employ real world tactics is just silly. But, grenades are not primary weapons. They serve specfic functions. They arent meant to be spammed and spammed for easy kills. The reason people are running to ammo boxes in the first place, is to keep lobbing them into spawn areas. Once gone, you gotta run around because the ammo boxes dont cough them up so easily. If people were judicial in their use of them, theres plenty. Ill use ammo packs on hack objectives, escort and pizza deliveries. Other than that, as an engineer, I run around to ammo boxes as well for nades. I move with the squad. I dont redeploy the pylon for a quick two grenades. Thats just dumb, especially if your other team mates were depending on it. And what the hell are two grenades going to do for you. Use your damned gun!
Yes this is pretty much my strategy, I save the ammo packs for using just like you do, and I use the harrier or typhoon.

all the demolisher has is grenades , it's not an unreasonable request.
Of course it's not, but it does point out all the lazy bums suffering from selective amnesia as far as ammo boxes are concerned. It also weeds out the odd ball Demos who think camping near the same pylon for two grenades is more efficient than timing a recast to get four instead. Oh, and then there's the poster that purposely let themselves get trolled... all game? A couple recasts out in the open or atop an enemy spawn point would have stopped that nonsense entirely. If you are having a hard time with people "stealing" your grenades I recommend not using the class when other people on your squad choose characters that use grenades as well. Great excuse to go try another one of the new characters.
Yeah this is a good tip. Either choose a different class if there's other people with grenades or play with another demolisher or find a new lobby. I personally think they should buff the pylon a bit. It should spit out ammo/grenades every 5 seconds or spit out 4 grenades instead of just 2 at a time.

Except that the paladin with shield deployed has the job of being a wall. A demolisher with pylon deployedhas the job of chunking grenades. Don't steal her grenades!!!!! Let her do her job!!!!

So I unlocked the N7 Demolisher a couple hours ago and I'm finding it to be a decently fun class however there is one thing that is really irritating while playing it. People are hoarding my grenades!!!!
I know the Pylon is there to help the group but seriously I am literally having to race other grenade users to get any. Other classes use grenades mostly as a supplement, the Demolisher however uses them quite often. I'm not spamming my grenades by any means, and I have a cap of 8 but I still find myself running out. This one match I had an Asari Vanguard camping my Pylon for LIFT GRENADES!!! really? I kept moving the pylon to undisclosed areas so I would have grenades when I needed them but she kept finding them and camping them, I think she was trolling me. lol
In a nut shell, unless you are a demolisher, go to an ammo box if you need a grenade or two, otherwise leave the pylon for the class that focuses on grenades.
That is all.
Don't let the other people flaming you get to you. You have a valid point. The actual Engineer abilities for this class, ie taking down shields and weakening armor, come from your grenades. Without them the class is a really, REALLY weak soldier.
Easiest way to fix this, don't take it if you see another person's using grenades.
I don't care if people sit in the pylon's radius to keep their shields up, get extra weapon damage, etc. However when it comes to the grenades, those are the Demolisher's life blood.

What bugs me is when the dual Homing Grenades sail over the head of an Atlas because there was a slight mist still in the air from deployed smoke. If I can read its health, the grenade should stop and lower that health...

plus ammo respawns faster than grenades, so if say an infiltrator/soldier/caster needs to hit up my pylon for ammo its no big deal.
grenades on the other hand are slower spawning and only give 2 if your pylon is maxed out for that evolution.
in my opinion if another grenade user hits my pylon say once or twice a wave then its no biggy but its the pylon campers and racers that get on the demolishers nerves.
also another point most are overlooking, if you are a demolisher and have a demolisher teammate dont be the guy that camps both pylons. thats why you have your own damned pylon!!
if the other demolisher is not there or you do not see them making an attempt to get to their own pylon then go for it.
otherwise dont be that demolisher that races the other demolisher to his own pylon FFS!

This - so much this - I will share with you all day long if you are another class - I may politely ask you to leave some for me if there are say - 3 destroyers with me (happened last night) but i swear to baby jesus in a manger - if your another demolisher raiding my pylon for grenades, I will politely request you stop the first time I see it. You do it again - plan on being kicked in the lobby. If i have run off without my pylon - have at it - i probably left it there for you - but nothing is more annoying than having ZERO grenades because your bouncing between two pylons like a meth addict lookin for a fix.
