I've never met or heard from anyone that hates EDI... How can anyone hate her?

I didn't know people didn't like EDI...I think I've only heard one person ever say that. While I thought that having her as a squadmate was a little predictable (I thought it would happen before ME3 was released) and her becoming more human wasn't a new thing, I think the way in which it was presented was really good.

And she's an interesting squadmate anyway.

And she's the reason why synthesis is the best ending.

I liked EDI in ME2 and didn't like her in ME3 because I found that the writers went the easiest way with EDI/Joker storyline. Joker was strange in a way to fall in love with his ship (remember, how he wouldn't abandone Normandy at the begining of ME2?), and than EDI came abroad. They started with dislike, then grew to be friends, and by the end of ME2 Shep was asking if Joker realizes that he flirts with a ship.

Should BW carried this theme of human loving AI, it would be extremely interesting and somewhat dramatic. It would also bring more sense of FemShepard flirting with Joker at the bar. He didn't need to become full LI, but it would be a neat love triangle. It would also bring more sense to Synthesis because then they could bring EDI to "live" by giving her some half-human/ half-synthetic body.

Instead writers went bold with "let's give Joker his own happy end" and made EDI a sex-toy interested in irrelevant jokes more than taking care of the actual ship. From intellegant AI she became a "blubermouth" (is that the word Liara used?) with an intellect of teenegare with rising hormons. I honestly expected her to giggle at some point.

WRONG

EDI's entire story in ME3 is learning about how to be "human" and all about understanding organics. Its FAR more than just Joker.

Pay attention to the story more.

My boyfriend just brought up Andromeda, the tv-series, just now. I would have headdesked if I wasn't busy facepalming.

The only reason I haven't made the connection myself is because I haven't thought about the show in many many years, after the abysmal 4th season, where a group of ancient beings or whatever decide to wipe out all life in the galaxy for being too unruly. Just seemed like a contrived and franly crappy plot at the time.

Why do people hate EDI? Overreactionary knee-jerk pettiness? I dunno. I thought she was great.

As a character, she's great.

But the reasons for her becoming a squadmate...

At least, that's my whole problem with her in ME3. If I kept everybody alive in the suicide mission, then I should be able to pick at least 1 of the old squadmates who focused on tech powers (or Miranda, who is a Sentinel). They had to pull something out of their ass so new players (ugh) weren't left without a tech squadmate, and so we have EDI the shiny blow-up doll.

EDI is awesome
Other from distracting me on missions sometiems.
She is a funny character to talk to on the citadel, especially when she wants to talk about joker having "feelings" for her.

I think it's because you can't pick Destroy and save her at the same time. Since most people here seem to pick destroy, they've cast her in a negative light.

Not true at all, I couldn't stand her from the moment she stepped out of the mists of the AI core and I didn't have the option of saying "Yuck." The thing with Joker cemented it and the way Bioware had her basically had her tell you about a problem and then solve it in the same conversation several times made me loathe her.

Agree. Destroy is the best ending because you get to end that toaster.

Yes, sir! But next time you decide to answer in this way, please try harder to prove your point, OK? Otherwise it's just your own opinion wich is no better than mine. <_<

I don't like the sexbot thing . I mean they even have a her a ******. While there are sexy ladies in the world .. you don't have to turn my ship into one.

I like the EDI character, and had no problems for the most part with it in ME2. However, I thought the playable character was taking it a bit too far. I feel like it really would have had a huge advantage in combat because of supreme calculation abilities but it played like any human.

She is writer's pet. The game forces her on you and you have to be so nice to her.

you dont have to be nice to her, you could just choose renegade speech instead of paragon.
But if you dont be nice to her there is a off chance that joker will be mad at you (honestly idk if he will because ive never made a renegade character).

I really like EDI, and to be honest, her and Grunt are the closest Shepard will ever get to having kids. He pretty much raised both of them.

If you be paragon to her through the whole game, in the end you say "You've found your human nature" and "You're one of us, EDI"
If you be renegade to her through the whole game, in the end you say "You've found your human nature" and "You're one of us, EDI".

Big difference right here.

Firstly, what isn't english in my post? Secondly, english is my third language so I could care less. Lastly, thanks for replying.
