Dark Knight Rising was meh (can't top the Joker).

Avengers was the bomb.

"We may not save the Earth. But you can be damn sure we'll avenge it."

Now that's how you respond when something threatens everything you love dear and that's how you use the badasses you've assembled to fight off the threat.

Just listen to the Avengers theme, think about that line, and tell me I'm wrong.

Now you may call Hollywood shallow and all about the money, but if ME3 is art, **** art. I'll take "all about the money" every time.

I must admit that the Normandy crew going out for shawarma would also have been a better ending than what we got in ME3 as well...

Ok crap.  Now you have me wanting shawarma and there isn't any good place to get it around here.

I just love it that this game has always been about Shepard getting people together to fight the reapers and in the end Shepard is alone having a chat fest with the head reaper.  Oooh, the drama, the action, the suspense.  What will happen?  Will they become BFFs?  Will they have a disagreement?  Yes, this is exactly how I thought the games would end.

I don't want every hero to die. But I do want people to stop clinging to heroes as being immortal. Saddness does not equal art, no, but poignancy of the message does.

In the case of Nolan he did it right. I just didn't like the message because it was telegraphed twenty minutes in. It would have been more ballsy to keep it more ambiguous, but hey, overall I was at least entertained.

Yes, I'm a troll because I have taste.

/chuckles.

Have fun talking about how amazing your pretend interesting pretend hero is.

Well excuses me of accusing someone who has been repeatively belittling a fictional character for at least 5 pages of a fourmn discussing said character's most recent film of trolling. You stated you prefer iron man and/or shepard, no need to repeatily insult the character for sh*ts an giggles.

On  another point, while alot better, i found dkrs plot very predictable compared to mass effect 3, but then again i don't think anyone could have predicted a holographic reaper AI child as the "final boss"

Which movies in which the hero dies are done well? I honestly want to know some of you guys/girls thoughts on this. Usually when its done it's always forced in there like a rape. I honestly can't think of one off the top of my head, I know I have seen a few that were done well, but normally they are screwed up botched and forced.

Night of the living dead comes to mind as done well. Black and White version.

You act like this is new? Hero saves the day, hero gets the girl, everybody lives. This is exactly the type of ending everyone was saying they didn't want for Mass Effect 3, when the media was bashing us for wanting unicorns and rainbows.

No one's complaining that "not everyone lives"  Just that Shepard unavoidably dies.

People like a little more agency in the fate of the characters they play over three games and have over a thousand imported chocies. Image IPB

The only problem TDKR suffers from is that anyone who's familiar with Batman and the lore surrounding him can see the twists coming miles away. I knew Miranda Tate was Talia the moment Ra's popped up to remind Bruce of his "immortality", etcetera. The missus didn't, so it was actually pretty hard to keep my mouth shut. =)

Other than that, it's a fantastically entertaining movie with an ending that made everyone in the theatre breathe a sigh of relief before clapping. But that's what you get when you let accomplished writers do what they do best. You can ask BioWare to take note, but I seriously doubt they have the kind of talent that is required to pull this off.

Dark Knight had twists that made me go "Ahh."

ME3 had twist that made me go "wait, what?"

I prefer "Ahh," over "wait, what?" any day.

If there were any justice in this world, every EA employee, Bioware or otherwise, who had a say in Mass Effect 3's ending, both its in its creation and in its enduring, will walk out of the theater after seeing this movie, seeing how well a trilogy CAN be ended, and will bury his or her head in hands and sob with remorse and shame.

Of course I know this won't happen, because, as ME3's ending has proven, there ISN'T any justice in the world. I'm just imagining what should be.

Really?

I actually said bull**** when that happened, and I said bull**** even louder when Bane got killed...

They ruined their villians in this movie in two minutes, and made the entire point of Bane as a bad-ass villian pointless, because he was nothing more than a lackey.

I didn't see bane die. I saw him fly across the room, and I don't remember the camera panning over to him or anyone actually acknowledging that he died.

It looks like they can expand on him in a later movie, it seemed to be left out.

Considering he got shot by a motercycle gun...i'm pretty sure he is dead.

And since we didn't see him after the fact in any way...yeah...

Didn't he get blown away from the explosion caused by catwoman shooting the wall? Or did she crash through it and then shoot. I am pretty sure it's the former, but I wouldn't be surprised if bane survived. The same with Talia as well.

Considering BSN's reputation, I wouldn't trust a single opinion on here when it comes to film.

True. The whole sleeper-agent thing with Talia was good for drama, but it ultimately weakened Bane's character, who was such a great antagonist. It was also terrible how they killed him off.

Just saw TDKR.....and now I find the title of this thread even more funny in hindsight lol....because the TDKR ending is almost exactly like ME3s Destroy ending....only difference is you actually see the heroes face....with his L.I....

Just reinforces my belief that the majority of people aren't happy because they didn't literally see an image of Shep with his L.I.....haha

If TDKR showed how to end a hero's journey.....then ME3 succeeded by those standards....

I'm inclined to disagree with the title, Dark Knight Rises had its own problems.

Sure wish Nolan would have written the ending to ME3. TDKR is an absolutely outstanding ending to a trilogy.

See, the plotline has a few holes but the movie (and specially the ending) is so satisfying the majority of people don't give a crap. That's how you do it Bioware, take note and stop messing up franchises.

Just saw it. Excellent movie, even better than the 2nd. Bane was amazing. I can't give it enough praise. I loved the ending. Emotional whiplash to the extreme. But in the end, I was so happy for bruce.

besides literally seeing Bruce with his L.I....there's not much different than ME3's ending
