Yeah you say that now. A troll never admits to being a troll so early in the thread. You failed at this topic and now you're trying to back out of it.

why?

Because it's like poker, he thinks he can buy his way out of a bluff.

Bioware is playing along with IT. It's officially as valid an interpretation as anything else.

critical hit. the way that game ended literally ANYTHING could have happened after the breath scene and it would be just as valid as anything else. I could have head canon'd shepard takes a breath, then ronald mcdonald runs up and gives him a free happy meal and he feels much better. Hey make up my own ending right? well there's my ending, roll the credits.

Then any alive/reunion or dead discussion should be sent there as well.

And any conventional victory talk.

No, because this is stuff that actually happened WITHIN THE GAME, and should be debated justly.  Not some theory concocted out of thin air.

wait a minute..

conventional victory which is IMPOSSIBLE and is not supported by the game itself as there is no such OUTCOME in the game is not fan fiction yet IT which is basicaly exactly the same is fan fiction?

really?

conventional victory, IT and reunion threads are about "what if.." and are based on facts in the game that could support those theories. yet none of  them have valid and solid proof and are not directly supported by the game which means they all can be treated as fan fiction or speculation WHICH IS WHAT BIOWARE supports.

seriously, too hot summer or what?

Edit:
don't forget to report me because i'm right

Oh the awesome ID10T error. I'm always tempted to use it on some of my clients.

No way is bw going to do this.

Why?  It would once and for all confirm that the IT is not real.

Which BW will not do. Added it would BW segragating people because they have a certin belief of the ending..And ending they left players for them to interpert. This would be like BW looking thread because they felt like thatpersons intertation of theending and story was wrong. That's not why they allowed for this borad to exsist, it for debate and discusion, Not for them to impose interpertation of the story on there fans.
That would be like me asking bw to ban anyone who doesn't understand that the catalyst and the reapers are just tool stuck doing what they are programed to do.

And they can do so in the Fan Creation forum, but not in the Story discussion where people talk about what ACTUALLY happens in the game, not make-believe mumbo-jumbo.

Cool story bro.

In the IT thread, we ARE discussing (by and large) things that happen within the game.
Parts of the story are open to interpretation. Some people interpret them differently to you. Deal with it.

SubAstris wrote...

No, people can write whatever they as
long as it is to do with the story. IT, whether you like it or not, has
to do with an interpretation of the story. Some of the theories of how
Shepard wakes up and defeats Harbinger is complete fan creation, but
that's only a small part of it.

We agree on something

Anyway, someone needs to lock this troll thread, it really serves no useful purpose and you're spamming mod inboxes with all these pointless post reports.

I suppose the biggest reason people like this thread starter hate IT, is because it invalidates the ending they've chosen by suggesting they are all hallucinations. I guess some people really want to believe which ever color doom they've chosen for the galaxy actually had an affect. I could probably write a good document on why the literal endings are impossible.

Yes,
it would. It would also be a very large and intentional "EFFF YOU!" to a
large portion of the fan abse and would probably result in even more
bad press for BioWare and, by proxy, EA. Actively trying to alienate fans will result in a lower future return on not just BioWare productions, but all EA games. Refusing to comment allows interest in the topic to remain. Shooting IT down is business suicide.

Because concentrations of sub-atomic particles large enough to be plainly visible exist, we know for a fact that the galaxy is populated by dozens of sapient species, and there is even one theory about how reducing mass of an object lets it go faster than c. None of that is made up mumbo-jumbo. Oh wait...

even Bioware hasn't discounted the IT completely, so OP where do you draw your conclusions from?

even though I feel that the IT is all speculation derived from mis interpretation, other posters are correct to say it can remain on this board. To each their own, but have to agree with the OP as well, that the IT is a frabrication taken from the whole cloth. I don't agree with any aspect of it because it has no logical place in the game. With it there is NO game, as the whole story is moot if its based in any MEU reality. Also it undermines the reality of the MEU, as just a dream state, imposed by the idea of it. I've come to the conclusion, it's really just troll food, but that's just my take on it, in relation to how I view the entire trilogy. You cannot indoctrinate the entire game.. only one antagonist per episode... oh, and Shep isn't an antagonist.(but he IS tuned into the reapers via the Prothieans.).so..well, you get it,eh?

yeah, but we have to give'm credit, they really put their imagination to the test with the IT, and almost pulled it off, what with the interesting twists of logical procession, scene organization and story line bumps. At first I suspected rival game devs goosing Bioware and the fan base. Now to see their boosters, promoting the "belief" system for kicks'n giggles, I wonder WTH? But if the IT were actual, it would basically ruin the ME game by unhinging Shepard as the hero, reduced to a victim and with that, no game immersion in an impossible series of events. The REAL unanswered question in the game is why was Shepard resucitated, heck, why was he even attacked by collector ship in the first place? Definite plot knot.. oh wait, he was indoctrinated to death..

I see your point, BUT:

how long have the IT threads existed? 5 months, right? That it, since launch. In that time Bioware has had more than enough time to move the thread, as other ones get moved almost instantly.
Therefore, if they haven't done it yet, they probably won't do it now, either.

The only and last thing I'll say: We're Indoctrinationists, and when we talk about IT, we stay ON OUR OWN THREAD. We don't roam other's threads and spam them with IT. We don't constantly open new threads and spam about IT, no.
But the IT-haters, they do these things.

So long.

This forum is for discussing the story of Mass Effect 3, not a fan created work of fiction.

HAHAHAHA. ... wait :

You know what is double-edged sword?

Merizan:

Yes, the Extended Cut should not affect the overall IT as I understand it (however, there are multiple iterations of this popular theory and it's possible that some speculations have been proven untrue). I actually have a dedicated saved game in which I play keeping IT in mind and I have another game that I view as a strictly literal interpretation.
The team went to great lengths to put meaning and layers of metaphor into the game. There's a lot of cool symbolism if you take the time to look for it. Definitely intentional and we want players to decide what those meanings are for themselves.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Merizan:

These games are all about player agency so we feel that it would be wrong to provide a "canon" path or one "true" narrative. Ultimately, the work has to stand on its own and players decide what they think is happening.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GTFO dude... Otherwise, IT is theory, explanation created by fans to made from edning sence and not fanfiction, if you would read first post and twitter comm after release than there was some point which heading into IT ...

I don't hate IT, I actually enjoy the effort put forth in IT's behalf. Disagreement isn't spam, but the insistence that everyone elses game is moot because of it, isn't cool either. Especially considering that so much effort is put forth on the IT, but not on obvious game possibilites seems like some are genuinely forcing, or attempting to the indoctrination of the entire game series. Just a thought, by the way, and probably why other gamers are burning out on the IT issue dominance.

It's fine if someone disagrees. So he should come in our thread, state his reasons and tell us so.
But opening threads or just coming into the thread and saying "IT is dead.", "You nutjobs.", "You idiots." is nonsense, insulting, and not in anyway contributing.
