N7 Paladin (Sentinel) Doesn't suck, it's just misunderstood.

However, I strongly feel we should be able to move slowly with the shield up.

Paladin Sentinel = Salarian with a little more shields....good character for sure.
Paladin gets the Shield passively, but Tactical cloak or Decoy are probably better investments.
But yes, the playstyles are Energy Drain reliant.
I added a link to your Paladin guide to the OP. Good stuff.

I use the 6/0/6/6/6 setup with a piranha and it works really well. I don't score as many points as with my other go-to classes but I hold my own, help the team and can solo a round if need be.

Shields, movement and spears. This... is... Sparta!! In reality, I would rather be able to shoot than move. Nice signatures by the way.

got downed twice, once I turned the corner to find 2 muraders and my powers recharging. The other a banshee sync-killed me through the shield(didn't know it could) and I mean like it spear handed through the shield. so I won't be doing that again

Personally I always max out ED first. At level 10, you could have maxed ED with the benefits of the extra sheilds as well as some offensive help. After maxing ED I max out health/shields. With max ED and max health/shields the Paladin/Salarians are hard to beat.

Remember that Tactical Cloak doesn't drop your aggro; if the baddies see you when you cloak they will still shoot at you. The Paladin's shield has the upside of being an instant damage stopper.
I also think that the favorable comparison of an actual Paladin player to a decoy isn't a bad argument at all, if that's how you want to play it. Don't try to think of the shield/class as simply just another version of the decoy power. The point of the class isn't "Let's make a class that's like a super-decoy," it's "Let's make a class that's a dude with a shield that does neat stuff."
Although, in fairness, I admit that I have in fact come across a handful of players that were less intelligent and therefore effective than an actual decoy would have been.

was my first time playing the class wanted to try the new stuff. Also anyone know if the banshee sync-kill will always break the shield? As I only had like 3k durribility at the time

ive tried a skip Energy Drain build and a skip Incinerate build.
both are good.
Skip ED = more damage output, cryo explosions.. but squishy.
Skip Incinerate = more survivability, and de buffs.!

The Paladin's personal score goes down, but its team usefulness goes up, as difficulty level goes up. So no, it's not a silver class, it is good on all levels.

The few times the stars align and luck holds were I can hold aggro off of a turret out of cover or something, he's boss though. Unfortunately, that's a bit far and between.

What bursts are you going for? Coming to that, which build have you chosen?
Refer to this: http://social.biowar.../index/9629730. It should make your life easier (relatively).

The reason it worked is that they were geth if you ask me. ED actually worked on everything so in between blocking the route I got back shields and so on. Tried something similar with other races. No go.
Think I'll start playing my shadow. Tired of this guy really.

I'm having the same problem; I built my Paladin around those juicy 100% tech combos, and it seems like a waste since the bursts rarely trigger. I'm at 200% cooldown and the enemies are still sparkling with electric effects when I SF them. I wonder if SF can only cause a burst on the first enemy it hits or something?MannedTunic58 wrote...
Question: Is there some trick to the ED > SF tech burst? For the life of me I can't do it consistently.

I thought it was a well known fact that after the rebellion pack tech combos became much harder to set off unless you're the leader/host of the game. I used to be able to use inferno ammo and carnage on my BF3 build and could set a fire combo off every time. Now I dont even bother trying, even as host it's very difficult.

Also I think that the Paladin and the Geth Engineer should get points for absorbing and healing damage. I mean I'm not a "Look at my score I'm the best" type player, but I am getting tired of players looking at my Paladin's score after a Gold match and going "Kick this guy he sucks."

Needs to move with the shield, and the shield should be an ability, not something activated by your heavy melee. Should toggle like Tech Armor/Hunter Mode/Devastation Mode.
Incinerate is largely worthless, anyway. Let Snap Freeze combo with Energy Drain for Tech Bursts.
It doesn't function as a true tank. Its shields should be like the Destroyer's, and it should have pretty high health baseline. It also should be stagger-proof.
Entirely stagger proof.
This guy should be on par with the Kroguard and KroSent and designed around drawing fire.
It's passives should make it emit a super-high-pitched noise that increases the chance for an enemy to attack it by 5% or something.
