Randoms are the spice of ME3 MP. But, what do I know? I haven't played since Monday morning.

After Platinum came out, everyone think they have to go up a difficulty.
Maybe one out of 6-7 random matches, I find another actual Gold player.

I used to give everyone a chance in Silver and Bronze, still do in Bronze of course, but in Silver it's not very fun to have to solo everything and waste equipment in situations where if even one more teammate was helping out I wouldn't have to. It's against my "casual" ways, but it's not very fun to be the only one working towards getting credits for a whole lobby.

Well I've had a couple of really good games with randoms on Random/Random on Gold, I was playing a demolisher with a harrier as was another guy, we could just bunker down and shred everything the enemy threw at us while the other two did the mobile damage dealing pair and we either moved up with the pylons to help or they fell back whilst we stopped the team from getting out flanked.

But, problem at the moment is that a lot of the best players have shifted to platinum now, maybe not exclusively, but we get a lot of silver players coming into gold so there's a bit of a learning curb going on, they'll learn eventually though. I play predominantly on gold. But I've not had much chance to have a platinum game. I want to level up my demolisher and shadow to lvl 20 before I give it a proper try.

I almost never see medigel usage in my public games (which are like 95% of my games), let alone see people use them all up! Anyway, I find the randomness is a bit like that of the store - sometimes you get on a run of luck (which could be good luck or bad luck), and it begins to feel less random, but eventually it all seems to even out.

And as someone mentioned above, if you're playing with 'randoms' then you are also a 'random' - so some of them are definitely good!

I find it funny how we hear so much about missile glitchers from Xbox players yet Ive never saw one in game on PC. Strange

I tested out platinum with a couple of friends and we got overrun by wave 5. It;s been a couple of days since then and I've got a better feel for the Demolisher and Shadow so we'll give it another go when I get the chance. At the mo. Gold's not to bad to do with the new classes even in a random PUG, but Platinum, if there are a lot of missle glitchers then It just kills the fun, so I'll hold off for a few days doing PU matches.

I find it funny how we hear so much about missile glitchers from Xbox players yet Ive never saw one in game on PC. Strange

I don't think it's possible to do on PC.  Besides, isn't everyone too busy modding coalesced.bin?  

I've never seen it on PS3 either.  No idea if it's possible or not - but all PS3 players are innocent angels anyway, so it wouldn't happen even if it were possible.  ;)

And people have stopped using consumables(weapon, ammo, armor) in Gold. What are they saving them for, Platinum? I see N7 400+ don`t even slap on gear...? I know you have gotten some kind of gear. I use consumables all the time. Cause that`s all I`m getting from packs, haven`t seen a weapon in month`s...

ANOTHER XBL complaint? You know it seems like we have one fo the nicest AND one of the worst communities in gaming... there's the randoms and then there's Team AreleX which is basically home to every non-cheating X-Box Player on the forums...

All i play is PUG's due to no freinds on XBOX. and i know my limits and that is bronze/silver... i will play gold but only if i feel comfortable with the team that has been put together.
the problem i have with pugs is that because of thier nature it is hard to build a team for gold runs because as soon as you learn the other players style they quit. that and the lack of communication. I can't tell you how many games i have been involved in with 4 mics and i was the only one talking. really anoying.

I agree with you. Even farming with randoms has been horrible. The only good gold match I have had the past week was with friends. I don't always play with friends and I didn't save a single credit towards this recent dlc. Farming on gold has eaten my medi-gel more so than playing with my friends on U/U/G. Plus I seem to get the kind of players who seem to stand over you and keep on firing at the enemy while my dying body is behind cover. One guy even camped on my pylon while I went out to revive somebody. Not selfish about my pylon, but c'mon dude it is for everybody. If two of us are behind cover, I put the pylon between us so we can take a step or two to the side to grab what we need.

Oh yeah, another thing about this guy. He was killed by a turret between wave 10 and 11. I told my friend not to revive him because this guy seemed to only be in it for himself, but my friend did any way. As soon as he got up, he ran directly to the extraction zone. Fortunately he died a minute later.

To be honest, you do not necessarily need equipment for Gold. I run my SI through without problems. Personally, I generally abstain from consumable usage until I gauge the effective we as a team will have. Perhaps, I am having an off day or the team synergy is lacking? Sure, this has gotten kicked from impatient people but I have lost far too many to toss them around every game nowadays.

-Wiped on Wave 3 of Silver.
-Kicked from a game before I could even load it, rage and tell all three guys in my recently played list to go dodge oncoming traffic. One messages me back "Krogans are horrible teamates."

I'm on the PS3 and mainly do silver, and I really quite like random games. I like the challenge of not only not knowing who you're fighting, or where, but who with. Sometimes it works out great and you can kick back and enjoy a leisurely game because you all gel, and sometimes it's a nightmare, but thats ok too, because I can knuckle down and get the job done. Everyone has to learn, I was crap to start with. If its too awful, then i'll finish the match then leave the lobby. Try my luck somewhere else.

I haven't played a random game since failing all over the place when Earth DLC came out. I've really barely played since, really. I am gonna play today, though, if some friends are on.

i had one game last night that started with three players and like 10 seconds into the first wave another guy joined. He was like common not another game already in progress.
we ended up having lots of fun and played for a while. but it is very rare indeed. i played like 20 games last night and had to carry like 13 of them with double and triple the scores of the other players. until that other guy joined. then it was nice to be carried for awhile.

i have not lost faith in randoms but they are definnatly less fun than if you get a group of guys together and every one is talking and letting each other know what is coming and what you got or if you need help.

The weekend event made some people bold when they REALLY shouldn't have been, I suspect. I think a new difficulty level has had a similar effect, since a bunch of people want to try it to see what the fuss is about. Was placed into a mission in progress with 3 people with N7 < 100. Since the LZ was already bad, my screen started on healthgate, and in the 12 seconds I had before dying, I got to the top of the scoreboard. ****ing wave 1 wipes... awful.
